Many NFL players were good in NFL but didn't succeed in CFL, it means a lot. If they were that superior, they would have continued to dominate in the North

YES! I've been arguing against the "auto-dissing" of CFL players for ages! There are a ton more top-tier athletes than there are pro football jobs. How about a televised "All Skills" competition each year that pits all comers against one another? If it starts to draw attention, (for scouts of CFL and NFL) then all up and coming players will want to participate and true comparisons can be made.

Well presented Micah. As both a CFL and NFL fan, I totally agree with Micah. I've followed both leagues for years, watched the transactions, cuts and signings and a lot of people would be surprised to see the flow back and forth of significant players across the border. Every year at the final NFL cuts from all 32 teams approx. 1200 players are let go by the teams they were trying to make. As Doug Pederson, former Eagles coach said. The best players don't necessarily get signed, these organizations are many times looking for specific players to fill specific needs and roles. He also referenced his own early tryouts where he believed he outplayed his competition in training camp only to later find out he had been cut. He advised those that were disheartened to hear they had been let go to stay positive and believe and perhaps they may catch on with a different club. The point here is that a hell of a lot of high caliber players end up in the CFL all be it maybe their 2nd choice but soon learn it takes the same kind of ability and focus to make it north of the border. Goodluck with your career and Purpleshift Micah.

Micah is right. The media is responsible for the overhype of the NFL players and it's league. He is AWEsome dude

If Micah was good enough he would be in the NFL but he is not. Most of the guys that get interviewed by Canadians are not going to just come out and say the CFL is inferior. Take what they say with a grain of salt.

CFL is CFL. NFL is NFL. CFL needs to get southern state football fans into it during their off season. Summer football. Only Canadians and Texas diehards for the CFL!

The argument he presented appears on the outside to have some valid points such as he does have similar metrics as Alvin Kamara. The problem with his debate is he is comparing apples to oranges. He is not a running back. He plays the role of a linebacker. He may run as faster as Alvin, but in the NFL, they want their middle linebackers to be 20lbs heavier than he is. A NFL team would never employ 216lb middle linebackers because they won't be heavy enough to shed blocks from TE's, O-Lineman, or even WRs. If a 216lb middle linebacker was utilized, the opponent's run game would dominate that LB & would destroy his team in the run game (which would enhance the opponent's passing game by allowing more effective & more frequent usage of play action. Also, an inadequate run defense from the front 7 would force the SS to drop down in the box to help with the run. And thus, open up the opponent's passing game even more since there would be only 1 Safety over the top. An enhanced run game & pass game by the opponent would exist because of an inadequate middle linebacker who can't shed blocks because he is too underweight. He would ultimately blow up the score board in favor of the opposing team.) So a RB with Alvin's vertical jump, broad jump, 40 yard dash AND weight is employable in the NFL. But a LB (like Micah) with the same vertical, broad jump, 40 yard dash AND weight is UNemployable in the NFL. So his argument appears valid, but it is extremely inaccurate. The other big issue with his argument is that metrics in shorts & Tshirts is not reality on the field. It is common knowledge game speed or speed with pads on is different than on a track & field course. There are tons of players who have great metrics who are awful at the NFL game because they lack the know how or instinctual know how to play the game or play the game at a fast pace. I am going to give one quick example. Zyon McCollum of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He has amazing metrics for a CB: 6'2", 200lbs, 4.33secs 40 yard dash (extremely fast long speed), 1.46secs 10 yard split (extremely quick), 6.48secs Three-cone drill (extremely quick). But his play on the field is very poor. His PFF rating in 2022 was 46.3 (about 61 is the cut off for acceptable to play in the NFL). People are saying he is a bust already after one year. I don't know if that is true since it is only 1 year of playing. It often takes time to develop for the non superstars in the NFL to learn the game. But the bottom line is that great metrics don't correlate to a great player or capable player to be employed in the NFL. There are tons of players every year that try out for NFL teams that have great metrics & are incapable of making an NFL team. Each team has about 6 to12 players who are drafted from the college ranks every year. These drafted players are predetermined by the team to have metrics, traits, potential, or production that are ideally capable of making the team. Often, each team only has 1-2 players of their drafted class who makes the team. As well, every year there are a total 90 players that try out for an NFL team. All of these players have viable or ideal metrics to make the team. Only 53 players make a team because the other 37 players aren't skilled enough or ideal enough to be productive on the field. Bottom line: you can't compare metrics of 2 different positions and you can't use metrics alone as a justification that CFL athletes are just as good as NFL athletes.
