Man, Derrick was right about the Rams playing in the Super Bowl at SoFi that season, but was waived before he could be part of it. Wishing him the best.
HAS A FAR BETTER UNDERSTANDING OF PLAYING IN BOTH LEAGUES THAN MOST. UNDERSTANDING HOW GOOD THE CFL PLAYERS ACTUALLY ARE IS CONFUSING TO MANY IN THE NFL. WHY BECAUSE THE LINE IS SO CLOSE SMALL THINGS MAKE THE DIFFERENCE AND OF COURSE THE MONEY AVAILABLE FROMM TV. REMEMBER PRIOR TO 1966 MANY US BORN PLAYERS PLAYED IN CANADA BECAUSE THE MONEY WAS BETTER AND WORTH MORE. THINGS CHANGED WITH THE SUPER BOWL AND TV.
@@alpearson9158 You sound extremely clueless about the NFL. Your quote of "the line is so close" is NOT TRUE. The NFL in the most simplistic observation has faster, larger, stronger, & more skilled players than the CFL. The physical difference alone makes the NFL game far more superior than the CFL. For example, I see Nicholas Dheilly on the RoughRiders as a Defensive Linemen who weighs 226 lbs. There is no player in the NFL who weighs 226lbs on the D-Line. The average weight of a NFL Defensive End is 277lbs. The average weight of a NFL Defensive Tackle is 310lbs. Nolan Smith is an Edge Linebacker in this year's NFL draft. He is projected to be a top 10-15 pick. He is 239lbs & there is concern he is too underweight to be drafted so high. The NFL is also more of a technical & precise game of football than the CFL. A NFL QB has to have proper timing & mechanics (Like footwork out of the 3-5 step drops. Does the CFL even have timing routes?); a NFL QB has to have accuracy (Like throw into small 1 yard windows. CFL often has receivers open by 5+ yards. There are ZERO small window throws in the CFL), and a NFL QB has to read defenses (Like running plays to high low on a defender. Does the CFL QBs even read defenses or does the CFL QB just throw to whoever is wide open?). NFL WRs have to have proper timing & route running (CFL WRs have 1 speed on their routes - that would NEVER work in the NFL). NFL CBs have to have proper positioning & technique. (Like outside technique for cover 1 defense. Does CFL CBs even use outside technique or cover 1?) There are also so much more detail to the NFL game compared to the CFL game than I have listed. For example, in the NFL, the player personnel and the scheme have to match. If a team has a good press cornerback, then the team can run a lot of man coverage. Or vice versa, if a team wants to run more man coverage (because of a newly hired defensive coordinator) & they want to draft a CB, then they can't just draft any good CB. They have to draft a good prospective CB with good size & long arms. Another example, if a team is planning on running a lot of 12 personnel (2 TEs), then they better have both TEs capable of blocking & pass catching. Another example, if the NFL team is a run heavy team, then the X & Z wide receivers better be taller, heavier, & good blockers. There's is so much precision & detail to the NFL game that you are clearly unaware of. Making your all caps, generalized, & unsubstantiated statement shows me that you are extremely clueless about the NFL.
