True. Misbah's shot and the fact that 2011 world cup was played in India made people forget how good ganguly was. He built the Indian batting line-up to the explosivity it has. I enjoy listening to him post retirement.
Sourav taught India how to win matches overseas. He was the guy with aggressive approach and the position in which Indian team is today all credit goes to this guy.

True. He backed a bunch of cricketers when they needed it the most. Sacrificed his batting positions for his teammates just to make them better players. Took a stand for his team going against the selectors. None of the senior players took a stand for him when he was struggling. I repeat, none of them. It's a shame that he had to hang his boots when he was playing some of the best cricket that he had ever played.
No one supported him let's leave the players who retaired during that time but the ones he backed and supported the players during their tough time and no player supported him

@surojeet chatterjee It wasn't just Yuvraj. Zaheer was the highest wicket taker in the tournament and Munaf & Nehra also supported him brilliantly. Also, Raina also played crucial knock in quarters and semis. And offcos Gambhir as well. So don't credit only Yuvraj.

He was asked to participate the Indian 11,a selection match, before the test series,to see his fitness. This heart a captain,who raised the team from 0 to 100per cent. It was Sunil gavasker, Jefry boycot who supported him through out his carrier.
Yes, during sourav s captaincy made the Indian team different shade , and it's made base for Indian team. And we all know how the Indian team was having a name before. And after 2000 He only made an effort of many youngesters in the side and they all made success. Sehwag . Harbhajan. Yuvi. Zaheer. Nehra. Kaif . And with the support from Sachin, dravid ,laxman. Ganguly is unforgettable person for me .

Yup.. couldn't agree with Clarke anymore. Ganguly is truly the unsung hero. He changed indian cricket. The others ( Sachin and Dravid) are symbols of individual success and favortism but Ganguly will always be know as a leader among leaders.
If you are not a 90s kid or before that, its tough for you to understand the huge greatness of Dada in comparison to Dhoni. Dada was an emotion, his team was the true TEAM INDIA. Stats can't measure him, neither the number of trophies he won. Greatest of the greats, underrated to the core, feared by useless people like Shastri and useless body like bcci to the core.
I ain't a 90s kid yet i know that dada was and will always be the best captain team india had . Dhoni led the team made by dada ! It was dada that took over captaincy after mach fixing scandal . It was him that bought back the confidence in the indian players . And it was him who recognised stars like yuvraj and dhoni. He sacrificed his opener spot for sehwag. And his no 3 spot for dhoni ( not sure if it was no 3 or 4 ).
