Fluid, interesting structure, seems to construct a nice story as he plays, great tone and plays with others well; both of these guys make it look so easy, like two seasoned talented jazz musicians. Not "dry like toast".
Michael always perfectly in tune which is main thing for me. Bowing has terrific timing and stunning rhythm Michael is best in the world in his Genre. And there's a snippet of him playing Lady be Good (Gypsy Jazz style) which was also stunning. You'll find that here at 1hr 11m into the profile film about Michael's amazing life ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-2bF7R3ZiWnM.html
At least two of them Bela Flecks tunes from the newly released "My Bluegrass Heart" and from the "The Bluegrass Sessions" from 1999. Both excellent albums.
@@buzzerking indeed. Like the saying goes, "if you're the smartest person in the room, you're in the wrong room." These two are in the right room, don't disrespect any one of them or compare. Bela has written concertos, played with the best artists in the world, and never says anyone is the best. It's impossible to be on the A team.
Yes, he might not be the best bluegrass picker alive, I never thought of Bela as strictly a bluegrass banjo picker. That is one of his many hats. He is one of the most diverse musicians I’m aware of. I’ve heard him play rock, jazz, classical, middle eastern, country, funk. Dude is all over the place. I feel like you have some kind of grudge with Bela. I don’t understand why. Michael is obviously ridiculously talented and Bela acknowledges and supports him.
