It’s after midnight, feeling hopeless due to my wife’s condition after multiple strokes, and y’all managed to put the biggest smile on my face! Thanks for spreading happiness! GOD bless y’all!
Sierra a few years ago was up there with the top mandolin pickers, today she is way, way above them, she picks so clean and man her tone, it is absolutely awesome.
@@vtdemocracy7520 Sierra is unbelievable. Molly is amazing but I wouldn't say a league of her own, there are scary monsters like David Grier out there.
She's one of the greats, but I don't think she's so far above everybody else. Jake Workman is so sick at guitar, and he can play mandolin as well. Super fast. Super clean. Heck, Sierra's husband is also a badass who can keep up with her. So fast and so clean. Here's Jake: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-kNZwZ1kVh5s.html
Watching great musicians humbles a fellow picker. I still have fun though. Not as much as listening to the good stuff.Which this is. Thanks for bringing fun to the world.
I'm an amateur mandolinist at best, but I love the instrument enough that I've just purchased a The Loar LM520 to try to get better. Folks like you guys are such an inspiration to me. I hope one day I'm even half as good as you both are. I love the differences in style and technique that you both bring to the table, the way you each play the instrument in your own way and in your own character while still working together to make something beautiful.
One can recognise two great musicians jamming, when those musicians give each other that "special" look and both of them just know what the other wants to do.
I've heard a lot of versions of this tune over the years but this one comes at the top of the list. Bright, lively and made a lot of fun by two great players. Wonderful.
Fortunately, the future of bluegrass and acoustic and Americana music looks bright....Sierra Hull,A.J.Lee,Molly Tuttle,Billy Strings,Dead South,Steven Seagull,Rhiannon Giddens...Some of the brilliant young talent that makes this old man smile!!
I was a dancer in the musical drama TEXAS in Palo Duro Canyon for several seasons and I've heard, danced and known this song all my life... didn't know it had a name until today 11-25-2021 Thanksgiving Day! I play mandolin now so I'm going to have to learn this!
My siblings, cousins and I played this song @ @ during the Corona crisis. We hope that this music will bring you joy through the difficult times and wish you a nice day! Best regards :) @39SI
holy Smokes did you two jam on that one damn I wanted to let you know that I suffered a major stroke 15 years ago that caused me to lose 590 to95 percent of my brains right hemisphere during open heart surgery nd that did result in parts of my body becoming partially paralyzed resulting in a complete lifestyle change of a forced early retirement and my body hs been in chronic pain for years with a headache that never goes away sadly I gave up my love of playing guitar something I did for more than 30 years so RU-vid videos like yours are my temporary escape from the pain as I do listen to them very loud with a good pair of studio headphones on so thank you for the great video and music that gave me some peace
There is lots of music I like, but I was born into Bluegrass. Lil Jimmy Dickens bounced me on his knee at my Grandmas house when I was a little one before his show at the town hall. He knew my family, and as all country folk know, that is what is important. Nothing warms my heart more than the bluegrass sound of mandolin's, fiddle's, banjo's, guitars and vocal harmony. Sorry folks. No other form of music can claim such a fan base as we have.
I've just started playing with an older, but WISER woman. And we are exploring some old celtic music... I've already played some hot club with some friends, but with this, I'm hooked.
My grandmother played Turkey in the Straw along with her sisters on live radio back in the 1930s in the Elberton town Georgia area. I wish it was recorded. The Bridges girls.
Thanks for the review. I just bought 2 of these online and wanted to see a video of one before they arrive. Seeing yours, I don't regret it at all! That fan is so sexy that I would keep it out on display even if it stopped working. I bought the brushed silver and light green for 29.99 each. I don't sleep well without white noise in my room, so a fan on low is a must.
Just when In thought my grandpa Louvin was the one of best mandolin players of all time, I had the pleasure of stumbling upon this video.. My god this rocks ✌👏👍💜💝
Awesome you guys do great!! I play mandolin and sing bluegrass myself and I love it . I started playing when I was 8 . I am now 33 I grew up on bluegrass I’ve had a musical family but you guys keep up the great work!!!

Oooops - was my initial response a faux pas? Blue grass music was played at the contra dances I once attended and hope I resume once COVID passes. I love folk, bluegrass, etc. Thumbs 🆙
How that audience can sit still to this stuff is beyond me,just watching it on my little phone here in spain want to get me leaping and dancing around the room.great stuff.
