i read the book by scott thorson. liking sex does not make one a bad person. granted L was decadent and not interested in philanthropy but that does not make him a bad person. it was weird that L wanted scott to look like him but scott sez that for the most part L was kind to him
They only did it because the times are changing and this topic is now more socially acceptable. If they had turned it down people would be outraged and it would give those people who declined a bad image.
It's sad to see Liberace being portrayed as almost a pedafile come gay person Because he was Sach a great piano player so intelligent so kind and caring he had lots of different interests. A lovely man and entertainer.
I suspect that most actors have had a moment or two on the wild side - it's part of getting to the top - and I have known quite a few people in the theater acting and entertainment industry, so I know what I'm talking about even if you might think I don't. Enough said...
I for one am sick to death of hearing how great and wonderful and amazing Matt Damon and Michael Douglas are for agreeing to play the roles of homosexuals, shoot scenes in bed together and even (gasp!!!) KISS!!!!! for the camera. For crying out loud, they're actors (quite wonderful actors - I'm a huge fan of both of them) but I mean, duh, that's what actors do - play people that are unlike themselves. No homosexual actor ever won a Nobel Prize for doing a heterosexual sex scene (and there are plenty examples of those!), why is it such a big deal that two heterosexual actors should do a homosexual sex scene (if you can even call the two 4-second long mini-clips that are in the movie "sex scenes"). That's their job - acting. They even get paid for it. BTW they were both good in the movie.
+TheWolverineiscool _ Look, if you want to respond to what I wrote, go right ahead, but "oh shut up!..." How foolish is that! It's nothing. It's not an anwser, it's not a comment. it's not even a good insult... At best, it's a baby tantrum.
+TheWolverineiscool _ Will do..oh yeah, don't go messing your diaper now. BTW your answer (if you do answer, and I fell somehow sure that someone like you won't be able not to) will be the last communication in this silly exchange - I will not respond. Ta ta.
I think most gay men at that time got married and had children (lived a lie) It kinda annoys me that someone like Liberace who was so blatantly obvious, continued to say he was heterosexual all his life. But i can't be really... who can blame these people really? Must have been a very difficult life.
God so annoying when even people in the industry keep on being soo stunned by how good the straight actors have been to play gay......boooooooooooooooooooooooooring! What is so "bold" about saying yes to the movie?!? Just because a kiss on the pool, once simulating cornholing and a bit of make up?
For starters the young man in the movie he lived with for years admitted that Liberace took advantage of him when he was under-aged and gullible. And Liberace loved young teen boys. That's been out there for a long time.
I am a very open minded person, but on watching this movie, Liberace came across tome as a legal sexual predator. The acting was brilliant. But the man was a deviate.
