My parents made me watch this a year ago, I thought before we watched it 'what is so special about tap-dancing'. I was totally wrong and I am very greatful that they made me watch it
A teacher at school set up and played the dvd during lunch break. Within minutes the room was jam packed with kids and at the back of the room several teachers looking through the window. I was one of them. Have been captivated ever since.
Michael Flatley is awesome, he is the Lord of the Dance the one and only... the world 's best, unbeatable, unique and so much talent. Amazing performance ❤
I have this performance on DVD. First time I saw it I was blown away. Many years have passed and I'm still blown away. I was shocked to see the negative comments everywhere about the gay leather pants, earrings and the high heels, or that Flatley looks so corny and smug. Damn, people don't understand it's a show brought to the stages, to entertain thousands, from kids to grannies! It MUST be interesting to look at! Flatley shows his Irish heritage through a traditional dance from Ireland and adds the show-factor Americans are well-known for. Amazing combination!
I don't understand some of these people. Michael Flatley is a talented man. How many of you could of created a show like this or hold the record for fast tap per second? And yes at this time of his life he was damn sexy. The leather pants are just great on him. How many of you could do this at this age? I would loooove to see you try. The man is great. Keep dancing Michael.

this is sooo difficult.. we had to learn this for our exam.. every saturday for 10weeks, learning this...4hours straight... we had speacial trainers to come in and help us... 27 of us had to do it and we all passed... best day of ma life knowin that i passed..
From what is it? I looked for yers performance exotically with this outfit. I saw it once in 90ties ar German tv RTL but did not record this :( Later I bought dvds but none of them were this version.

Joaquin Cortes had greater movement with open chest and shoulders. To be honest, he also had a more beautiful body and facial expression; for dancers body proportions are important.
@OliviaTheGeek You're just jealous. :-) It just that not many Americans can do an irish tap dance at his level and win trophies even in Ireland. Here is a fact for you. Was the first American to win the Irish Dance World Championships at the age of 16. He began dancing at the age of 11 and was told he was too old and should not even attempt to dance competitively.
