I beg to differ with all the older folks who think all young people listen to is Carrie underwood and others. I grew up on steely dan, earl klugh, and michael franks and still appreciate and listen to their music and i'm only 18!
Michael tours with the best musicians. I have seen him several times. His show is a breath of fresh air every time I see it. I am just lucky I came across his music during my lifetime. I am so GRATEFUL FOR THE TALENT OF MICHAEL FRANKS. AND... I am grateful for every single person in his life that encouraged him to pursue his music!
OMG !!! I FREAKIN LOVE THIS SONG. I REMEMBER THIS WHEN I WAS A KID. IM 37 NOW. THIS IS AN EXCELLENT LIVE VERSION. DEFINITLEY ONE OF MY FAVORITE SONGS OF ALL TIME. I'LL BE Ah' 80'S KID 4 LIFE ......
This is the jam! Sat in the pouring rain, with a soaked plate of food in my lap and joyfully watched Michael perform this at Chastain Park in Atlanta. As well as other great jazz artist. SMOOOTH!
This Is My Favorite Song From Michael Franks I love the Lyrics and his voice has always been the same through the Ages a True Music Legend! And SMOOTH Always! Great Band backup too!
I'll always remember Michael FRANKS HE IS A BRILLIANT MUSICIAN AND SONGWRITER I REMEMBER HIM WHEN I WAS YOUNG HE BLEW ME AWAY WITH HIS MUSIC AND LYRICS
I "discovered" MF as I walked by the tv section of a home goods store. The setrs were all tuned into a music festival and MF happened to be performing this song. I was enthralled with the whole scene: His voice, the lyrics, tempo, the band. I was hooked instantly. That was almost 20 years ago!! I love his older pieces and everything he's come out with since. I try to get to south Florida when ever he's in town. Keep it coming MF.
I was thinking about the first time I saw him in concert. It was at a Jazz Festival in Florida. I would love to see hear his voice again. So so smooth. Oh
Michael Franks was into 50s/60s pop/rock&folk music, until the mid-seventies&his jazz albums started coming out! This man has a masters degree in literature! No wonder he writes such great lyrics! Saw somewhere he was introduced to jazz by a friend who started playing one of his father's albums when Michael was visiting him in the late fifties!
Just heard him at Jazz Alley in Seattle Sept 2011. Looking a little older but still the coolest dude there is. He's the best listener I've ever heard. I mean he listens to the band and the music intensely-that's why his intonation and phrasing are impeccable!
Had a chance to see him at Paul's Mall on Boylston St. in Boston back in '75 or so. My car broke down on the way to the show...never got another chance. Thanks for the vid.
I accidentally commented on The Tedeschi Trucks Band. It was about Michael Franks . He’s a La Jolla Boy ~ played at Elerios ( in La Jolla ) I worked across the street at the La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club. Saw many great concerts there . Saw Michael when Skin Dive, had just come out .
I have been a fan of his for over 30 yrs! His voice is so soothing and I always enjoy hearing his music. I played one of his songs for my 15 yr son and he even likes it. Hope to hear even more from him! He's great!!!
So smooth 👌🏿my parents put me on to Michael Franks in the early 90s just recently saw him at the Jacksonville Jazz festival doesn't get any better than him.
Love Michael Franks! been fun playing with my dual monitors- one monitor RU-vid playing michael, the second monitor lyrics websites singing along. finally i get all the little lyrics I have been missing! thanks for the upload
I guess this is what happens when u have a sax player in the band and u have to find him a part, so u give him the guitar solo even though u have a good guitar player in the band. The original with the guitar work was great!
Wow! Thanks for posting this it brings back sooo many memories. I was about 11 when this came out and his voice used to tickle me. My dad would laugh because my eyes would get big and bright when one of his songs would come on :)
