In this exclusive interview, former Mafia capo Michael Franzese shares his insights into the history of the New Jersey and Philadelphia mafia. Franzese, who was once one of the most powerful men in the mob, gives a firsthand account of the rise and fall of these two infamous criminal organizations. He talks about the major figures who shaped the mafia in these two cities, the violent wars that were fought between rival gangs, and the corruption that infiltrated law enforcement and politics.
Franzese also discusses the current state of the mafia in New Jersey and Philadelphia. He believes that the mob is still a force to be reckoned with, but that it is no longer the powerful organization it once was. He attributes this decline to a number of factors, including increased law enforcement pressure, the rise of new criminal groups, and the changing demographics of these two cities.
This is a fascinating and revealing interview that provides a unique glimpse into the world of the mafia. Franzese is a charismatic and articulate speaker, and he tells his story with wit and humor. This video is a must-watch for anyone interested in organized crime or the history of New Jersey and Philadelphia.
* The interview was conducted by Tom La Vecchia, best selling author and host of the New Theory Podcast
* Franzese is currently a motivational speaker and author. He has written many books about his life in the mafia: "Blood Covenant" and "Confessions of a Mafia Boss. to name a few. He also released Mafia Democracy which is his new best selling title

You should meet my Uncle. He's 70, did 13 years for cassettes in the 96. He was friends with the all the wise guys in Philly and locked up with both Stanfa and Merlino(obviously at thier different times all on record when what my uncle's and cousins did is all on the Internet and all on record). He is the twin of Stanfa in looks mannerisms and accent, Stanfa and every two wise guy really liked and respected my uncle in prison. And respect to people like Micheal Franzes and his father and men like him who stand tall no matter what life you choose to go down. And by the way my Uncle is going to court now for "Allegedly" coming in at the end of a wedding and hitting someone (the nephew of his ex wife) in the head with a baseball bat for something very personal the kid did and he's 70 years old. But he never watched documentaries on RU-vid in Philly and was telling my stories like a grown little kid reliving his past mentioning all these names mentioned in the documentaries and some twins he was friends with and yeah, he probably wouldn't mind, his story from the news article is crazy enough for him the way all these old mob guys(not Micheal Franzes) who rat and then come on RU-vid and profit while my uncle at 70 is still as crazy as he was before prison, in prison and after prison. He's really the real deal and i say that with no bias that I'm related to the man, he is the living embodiment of an old school stand up straight gangster, and he far from brags or talks shit, I'm doing it for him now 😂

He was on it. However over the course of the 70’s the bosses were meeting less and less with each other on a grand scale. By then everything nationally was already in order, the territories were known, alliances were set in stone, and a lot of the original 26 families were fading away and those family namesake bosses were dying- Gambino, Lucchese, Bonnano was no longer around, Genovese, Costello, Lucky, Joe Colombo, etc. The ones who remained either didn’t share the same relationship with the newer bosses taking over or they just didn’t feel the need to actually meet face to face with everyone and risk another catastrophe like Appalachia. The newer format seemed to be just the 5 families meeting from time to time with proxy votes from the others being sent in. RICO was starting to be used in the 70’s and the fear of being caught up in that far outweighed they desire to risk being caught in the same place.

I agree with the legal business being the biggest money these days, but these guys are criminals and in that respect I think Cosa Nostra in America should have never gotten away from killing to get in. They should have kept that. It weeds out a lot of the fringe players that aren’t willing to take a big sentence. That way your locked in at the hip! Well, in the late 70's the mob was a powerhouse in New York and the crime and murder rate was at an all-time high. I believe 1982 was the worst year ever, so I'm afraid in this case Michael has some selective amnesia lol

Can you ask Michael if he had ever heard of or had ever been to a club called this Stilwell caves. It was located on 13th and Stillwell Avenue in Brooklyn it was around from the early 50s to the mid-70s. All the Italian crooners from back in the day would perform there including Connie Francis, Vic Damone, Al Martino Dean Martin and even Sammy Davis jr. I cannot find any information on it other than a couple Old-Timers I've met in South Florida that were familiar with the place. My grandparents who were Italian immigrants were the owners and I know it was popular with many Profaci and Bonanno guys and I have always assumed there were strong ties to the Profaci/Colombo family especially since that was Profaci territory and with old man Joe being known as the "Olive oil King" and it being a restaurant owned by Italian immigrants there had to be some involvement and with Michael's ties to the music industry I thought he may be familiar with it.

By the way, I've known about Micheal Franzese since i was 13 or 14 from a dvd documentary i bought off the guy from my neighborhood in Paterson NJ and im going on 30 now. And i swear for God's sake first, but then people like my uncle and Micheal are the reason i didn't run deep deep into thier foot steps because of giving me the reality of what I've seen. The last few years I've definitely calmed down abd actually started listening to elders advice about not going down that path because unfortunately there is no real loyalty left in the world let alone in the streets especially today. So human wise I take my father as a role model, was literally like Don Corleone from the movie the Godfather in looks and voice and popularity for modesty while my uncle's were like the crew in Goodfellas. My father was very peaceful and well well well loved and i say that with no bias that he was my father, he was a business man and had around 1,500 people at his funeral and again he sold cars for a living, he was no politician but everyone and anyone would come for help or advice or settle disputes between people how whole hearted and genuine he was that i swear I've watched the Godfather for the first time i think a year after he past away and i was in tears when i actually seen the movie due all my teachers over the years telling me that's who he looked like and i still had no idea what The Godfather really was about up until 7 years ago and now I've watched it over 100 times due too similarities familiar. When people want to say The Godfather is over romanticized I no way because ive witnessed a human being who actually matches that standard(without the murders of course 😂). I was with my dad and around his friends every single day from the age of 12 up until his last day 8 years ago. And I put no emotional attachment he was my father, I'm talking strictly facts based off what I've witnessed, this man use to send me to the grocery store after widows would ask for help from him after he collected money from him and his friends to help pay for rent and that was a normal thing to him and to be growing up. RU-vid really my only social media, venting to strangers in the comments is a bad habit of mine lol but it's the truth, and i try to never mix my emotions with absolute truth, that's a picture of my father in the profile pic and have my father as a background on my phone how much i looked up that man, so when from the age of 12 up until a few years ago i was like my dad in mannerisms and fairness and wisdom but like my uncle's in actions and thank God i took the uncle's part out the last few years and have been trying to live the way my father did, which was love. It's crazy when you have real real wise guys humble and dangerous men humble thier character around my father and never talk dirty nonsense around him from how shy you feel in that man's presence. He was so loved because from homeless to millionaires to ruthless guys(from people in the ghetto to wise guys) loved my father as much as I'm talking good about him now because he was very very fair and wise and very humble and charismatic and too too sharp, nothing got over on him. Aw man God rest that man's soul.
@allanmoe4444

@@jaygee7934 lol exactly and I only have RU-vid, no other form of social media. You see if I was doing anything I wouldn't have said a word. But everything on my uncle's part is all public record. I didn't say anything new. What he's going through now with the wedding situation is also on record that he "allegedly" hit someone with a bat to head, he had enough respect to wait for the wedding to finish at least. But he's 70 years old he might have dementia or old timers(lol sharp as nail). Glad you listened. RU-vid is like therapy, no wonder why all these old mob guys love to tell stories and relive the past, especially 99% of them being rats with the expectation of Micheal Franzese.
