If you were going to cast Henry and co. based on who best resembled the real characters, it should have been Joe Pesci playing Henry Hill (who in real life was short and square) and Ray Liotta should have played Tommy DeSimone (who was tall and slender). And to round out the trio, the real Jimmy Burke resembled Brian Dennehy far more than he did Robert DeNiro.

Dude hates on Henry hill Henry hill was more of a gangster than Micheal .Everything' in good fellas was true. The reason I know this is because the prosecutor ed McDonald and Henry hill narrated the full movie(Good fellas). As Henry was narrating Good Fellas with ed,Ed went through every scene and backed everything up in the movie. As a matter of fact they had left out so many stories Guys watch it if you're a fan. Henry was the real deal unlike Mike,Mike became made because of his old man,that he only visited once or twice. He didn't buy his father any clothes nor did he take him out to eat. So Mike franzasse didn't help his father when he was at the nursing home near the end of his life.

When I was in FDC Philadelphia 2 men that was cooperated Against Joey merlino and his crew was placed on the same unit with 3 members from joey's crew The BOP screw up very often and place people that are cooperating in the same jail as the People they are cooperate in against. I was also cell mates with Frank Persico, Alley Boy came to my cell every day didn't know who he was until someone told me.I was in shock. Frank had his wife call my wife when I got shipped out. Also met Jhon Gotti son in law Carmine we all walked to med line at night. Jails loaded with mob guys, most of they are cool people.

I know of one Mafiosi who was killed after entering witness protection: Joseph "Joe the Animal" Barboza, former enforcer for the Boston mob suspected in 13 murders. Joe turned federal witness back in the early '70s, wrote a book I read and then had the stupidity to start shaking down porn stores in L.A., which were themselves mob-regulated. Got his head blown off with a shotgun in a drive-by hit. But that was a long time ago, so I don't blame anyone for not remembering.
