@@sigyn27 listen,,, this routs down to a joke I made when I was about 11 and although yeah, Gandalf is an immortal and DUmbledore is, well, old manipulative man (also it is not like Gandalf never manipulated anybody, it's just Gandalf was... well he cared about little people way more than Dumbles), I amnot willing to discard my old stupid headcanon :D

No, you are right, except that you forgot that both actors had been knighted. So it's Sir Ian McKellen that plays Gandolf, and Sir Micheal Gambon that plays Professor Dumbledore... and Micheal took the role after Sir Richard Harris passed....Seems quite a few British actors were knighted... interesting.
