" I did just that , as I do everything you tell me to ; as I consume all the shit you put on my plate , I like being that kind of hipster , I even fast as a method of watching your " army - of - hipsters " cathalyst reviews - I like the fact you shit what we feed you by worshipping your shallowness and idiotic musical tastes pretending to know a lot about everything when in fact you know everything about nothing ... well , in spite of all this the part at 07:49 still vaguely reminded me of why I love you so . "
Every once in a while I have to get my fix of this spoken word masterpiece. The first time it was repulsive, the second a little amusing. The third time I realized Gira is a supreme comedic genius.
I feel like this has inspired me to be a better person. This poem has given me a model of the worst possible person and I strive to be different from him in every way.
Listen to this, and Sewer Election's "Kassettmusik" at the same time. It's a sick, twisted quiet ambient noise release, and it fit almost perfectly to this. Just keep it at 50 - 75% volume so you can still hear Gira speak.
But for real, this seems, at least in part, a comment on people who worship authority The details are pretty elaborate, and really makes you feel inside this characters mind, the way his thoughts mix with the description really help But some parts are too over the top, I even laughed sometimes because of how ridiculous some lines were Also, scrotie mcboogerballs
Clever way to promote the record, but this should be equally true of just about any noise or ambient release that doesn't include vocals that would get in the way of Gira's narration. It's a neat trick, but I don't quite understand the upvotes.
Reminds me of the terrible poetry I wrote myself as a teenager. You don't go to school but think you're some kinda intellectual and if you write simple that's ok, just be very detailed with shock and people won't pay attention to the overall sloppiness. Anyway, I love Swans and Gira has come a very long way in his writing. That being said, what the fuck was playing on the tv in the background?
offputting and poetically sickening. i got here because of lydia lunch, but this is very interesting and viscerally gross in its own right. really paints a disturbing picture of abuse and self-hatred. painful to listen to.
