During the times in his life when he was conventionally handsome, he thought he was ugly. ☹️ I think he likely had body dysmorphic disorder, and needed help that he unfortunately never got. No matter what changes he made, he was never happy with his appearance, and always felt ugly.

He was so beautiful here. A lot of people say his look on the thriller album through the bad album is where he should've stopped plastic surgery. But he was perfect before the first rhinoplasty. All of the Jackson brothers and sisters are beautiful even before their surgeries. At least that's my opinion.

Molly Meldrum is a nice interviewer: he asks good questions, knows where not to cross certain boundaries and speaks with respect. He interviewed MJ four times (1977, 1985, 1987, 1996). As for MJ, he's sweet, sensitive and shy as always 💖

I always try to tell cynical people who question why Michael would hang out with kids and have sleepovers , watch interviews of him when he was a teenager. He wasn't like other people, he was always extremely pure and innocent and because he was the most famous man on planet earth at his peak, an unconventional and sheltered lifestyle necessarily comes with that. He loved kids because they were like him and he wanted to compensate and have fun for all the time as a kid he spent working to become the legend he is. The truth and purity of who he was is not something the world gets to see very often, we were lucky to have him.

When he was preteen he was bubbly and loud. And then when he hit his jeans he got timid and shy. But if you notice his voice started to change and 73 because it was kind of robust as a child.

I don't know... Body language is everything. Something was going on in between those breaks.. Mike was looking mad. And how he laughed genuinely when he did but sometimes it was forced. And how his face would turn blank out of nowhere. Poor kid! He like some parts of the industry but not other parts of it. I think it's his lost childhood we're seeing. A person who never had a childhood or experienced life as normal person is just not going to be 100 percent happy or at ease. Plus Joseph was so harsh on him and beat him. For this beautiful young man to have endured all of that would have broken a part of him for sure.

I love this pocket of time just before Off The Wall (and of course Thriller that launches him into ultra mega super stardom far surpassing anyone’s imagination), while disco is still chic. And he’d drop by Studio 54 chatting with Steve Rubell. Imagine being at Studio 54 as some lauded out coked up schmuck lucky enough to get in that night and see that you’re literally dancing next to a young MJ and being like “holy shit he really is a Dancing Machine”. His story is so insane. I can’t comprehend what his life and his existence must have been like from the time he was so young until his tragic death, and the potential tragedy both to himself and potentially if there’s any truth to any of the allegations or if they all were for attention but I imagine there’s maybe some trickle down abuse given how heavy handed Joe was on the kids, yet Michael was his star child, and sadly, cash cow.
