“Sparring is fighting” is what someone that has never fought would say. Nobody is trying to kill their sparring partner. In full contact fights, your opponent is trying to take your head off. You need way more stamina and have to be able to take a hit.

This is interesting, and for those of us who have listened to the myriad of comments made by Michael White regarding his “world class” fighting abilities, much needed. Although MJW seemingly tries not to sound arrogant, more often times than not, he comes across as sounding exceptionally arrogant when it comes to his personal fighting skills. He’d no doubt tell us all he has nothing to prove. However, when you constantly give interviews wherein you describe holding your own against Jon Jones, having James Toney back down from sparring, opining you’d whip Bruce Lee and Michael Perry- at some point, it’s time to back up all the tough talk. Seriously. MJW always says, “ask so and so who I’ve trained with” about my skills. Yet, I’ve never heard ANYONE outside of MJW shower him with MMA accolades. MJW has made so many comments which have indicated he feels his fighting skill is on par with high level UFC fighters, that at this point, if you never actually fight anybody in competition, you sound like a blow hard. The thing is- all it would really take is a single fight during which MJW dominated against a real UFC fighter to settle this long argued debate. Let’s see it Mike! End the speculation. It’s about that time sir....
