You missed A LOT my friend. I saw this Michael Jordan, and let me tell you, it's a life changing experience. When we went to the basketball court after that, we all played like MJ. He inspired people like no one I've ever seen before. People watch great athletes play the now and days. But Jordan literally made you want to go out and play the game after watching him play.

Throughout his career with the Bulls, even as the NBA talent got better, there was never a time when Jordan wasn't always this much better than everyone else on the court. There was no way he'd let it be any other way.

Holy shit this was MJ's 3rd game, and the Bucks were a very good team in the 80s, Sidney Moncrief was a damn good defender and Jordan just made him look foolish.

This was MJ's arrival game. It's funny looking at all of those empty seats. I bet they filled more of them for the next home game. The fans who were in attendance probably thought they'd get another snoozefest Bulls loss. They can honestly say that they were there at the beginning of the Jordan era.

The Rockets probably would have been his greatest competition, and there is no telling if the Bulls still get Rodman later. So it is just as possible that Houston takes one and Utah takes one later.

We Sore Richard Jefferson were a top defender of the nets in 2002 2003 final, of team USA 2004, of the Cavs today, so Jefferson is top defender in this era. when Jordan were back with wizards, he drop 51pts on Hornets and the next game he drop 45 on Richard jefferson in 38min. next year he drop again 43pts 10rbd on Jefferson(40 year old NBA record). what if the 1993 MJ played those games? your super legs men whould be destroyed....

I was in a Pops resturant in chicago and they had the paper in there chicago tribune from when the bulls thought about drafting jordan. The headline read, "Could he this be the man to bring a title"? Looking at it from hinesight made me laugh. The article talked about all his intangables including a quote from bob knight saying, "Hes the best player ive ever seen" That was after the olmpyics, didnt even put on a pro jersey yet! He was right

This is good research.. Sometimes i wonder how his game would translate to the new era of nba with so many athletic specimens out there nowadays.. He's as freakishly athletic as lebron... Splits defenders like only d rose can.. Has all the skill of a kobe bryant or a d wade but knew how to rise to the occasion like no one ever has since or probably ever will.. So glad i got to grow up in the jordan era... best ever no doubt.. i wish i could watch him do it all over again

Miss this era, when my family got cable in the mid 80s we got WGN in Chicago and TNT in Atlanta so I got to watch as many Bulls and Hawks games as I wanted. Had a blast watching the Goat and the Human Highlight Film to my hearts desire. Sure was a great time.

what a lucky man you are! imagine me, starting watching NBA in 1988, in comunistic Poland, 11 yrs old boy, where there was only 1 hour repeat of single randomly choosen game from the previous week on Saturday at 1 pm at that time. But still for us living behind the red curtain it meant everything to be able to watch any, even the shortest snapshot from the NBA. I wonder sometimes how I was able to fall in love with NBA in such circumstances, having so restricted access to the western world culture?

Jordan's not one of my favourite players, but this video shows exactly why he would become the GOAT. Not because of his physical gifts, which, while extraordinary, don't by themselves separate MJ from a Lebron or a Kobe, but because of his will power to employ those gifts when it counted most - ie 22 points in the 4th quarter. Lebron and Kobe do this often, but Jordan did it all the time, always coming through in the last 7-8 minutes, always in the biggest games.

I can't think of any player before or since who generated as much excitement as that guy. Look at those fans and the announcers who can't believe what they are seeing ... in his THIRD game. I remember it well, it was something else. I was in junior high in Durham when he played for Carolina right down the road and I remember afternoons with friends shooting baskets debating who was the best player on that team, Worthy, Perkins or Jordan ... who knew?

TruthHasSpoken The NBA wasn’t that big in the ‘80’s, hence the empty seats. It wasn’t because the Bulls weren’t good. Thanks to Bird and Magic and the Celtics vs. Lakers rivalry, then the torch passed to Michael, is what saved the league.

Yeah, 80s already had Bird and Magic making the NBA huge, and then you had this guy called MJ show up. You also had Hakeem show up, who was actually the first round draft pick. MJ improved immensely from college to the pros as well. MJ ALWAYS worked so hard on his game.
