The quality of the editing of this video is on a level of its own, just as Jordan as a player was on a level of his own. It's worth watching just to admire the skill and judgment which went into making it. Good selection of shots, good choice of music, good balance between offense and defense; judicious slow-motion (e.g. 1:45), needed fast-motion to keep the pacing (4:25), perfect synchronization between action and musical beat (2:03, 4:02), well-chosen blending of commentary into the music (2:08-2:13, 2:35-2:38), necessary interruptions and changes of pace to keep the flow (4:18-4:32), repetition and magnification to focus the viewer's attention on the critical point of action (5:10, and 8:05-8:10) and even from multiple angles (5:16), preservation of most-recognized baskets for lynch-pin moments in the video (4:27, 10:26), and best of all, the seamless flow between similar shots (8:52, 10:02). There is a rare degree of skill on display here.
@@kamikazekrush3758 Well, not on its own, but it's perfectly suitable for this kind of video, and a much better choice than the endless clash-of-drums-and-cymbals which you sometimes see in other compilations. I'm thinking mostly of the first 5 minutes, to be honest ('My Domain').
Half of these plays I have never seen any other player do ever. He has retired 20 years ago and his prime was 30 years ago and there's still no one that can match him. Wtf.
This is what LBJ fans won’t understand. This is what he did on a regular basis. This is just how he played. This isn’t a highlight real of his best plays. This is just how he played.
@@monkeyboi84 I'm lbj fan....and i admit mj was the best.....we love LeBron because of his greatness and dedication on basketball and he keeps going on
Guys, I'm 43, from Russia. There was no cable TV or NBC broadcasts in the 90s, but everyone knew MJ and the Bulls back then. Still remember his epic duels in all his Finals, like it was yesterday.
Yo tampoco tenía cable, y veía los partidos en los televisores que estaban ala venta en las grandes tiendas comerciales de mi ciudad, saludos desde Chile!!!
Jordan was the GOAT just based on the eye test alone. I don't know how anyone can watch his countless highlights and not say he was the best. Oh, and by the way, he was also the fiercest competitor, greatest scorer the NBA has ever seen, played defensively almost as well as he played offensively, won 6 championships without losing one finals, and all the while denying almost an entire generation of hall of famers the chance to win a ring. LeBron is amazing in his own right, but let's not kid ourselves on who the true GOAT is.
@The Muffin Man who lives in Drury Lane another dumb human being! All great player says jordan can score 50+ points per game.. he's basketball IQ is too far from nba players today.. you should study first young man.. removing hand check in jordan era? Jordan will massacre you inside the court.. they play too much physical.. even millennial players said that jordan is too much to handle at age of 40 and injured he's still a head ache he can score 50 points out of shape jordan lol....
@The Muffin Man who lives in Drury Lane Lebron can't shoot and dribble like todays players, so? Whats the point? MJ play against Shaquille, that Is a way more dominate player than Lebron.
@@oneandonly3280Dont under estimate LeBron He is the best player in his.era. If you have the mentality of being narrowed mind don't get me infected. ..You only see 1 player and trying convincing yourself that MJ is the BEST of all time and there will never be another player but only MJ alone. By that kind of thinking you only killing yourself ...And I feel Pity on you man...
And people out here telling me there are at least 10 players in nba currently as good as Jordan. Please, not a single one can do the shit Jordan did. Not one.
I agree, people say players get bigger better and faster due to evolution, wrong! no one in this day in age can play like MJ. The moves you see him do in this video is still lightyears ahead of everyone today and he makes it looks effortless. He is the only one player in NBA history that did not have a weakness in his game.
@@ilovemusic3478 Exactly and the game was much tougher back then because they played defense! A player in todays game can't even be touched now....ridiculous!
The best player would have to be able to dominate in any era. Jordan is the only one capable of doing that. Take all the other greats they would have hard time dominating in every era. Yes he the goat by far. He is actually the most dominating player to play any team sport.
What you see in this video completely transcends basketball discussions. These are some of the most astonishing features ever achieved by the human body, and I am not even talking about sports. This is poetic, this is art, this is dance.
Life is short and sometimes I think about all the things that I will never get to see, and it makes me feel sad . But in my short time on Earth I was a witness to the Michael Jordan era and it was simply wonderful. Thank you for the best MJ video on RU-vid. Thank God for Michael Air Jordan
Dusty Brown exactly! Watching these live back in the day when I was a kid was the highlight of my youth. People watching replays and hearing how good he was is another story.
I was born 1999 so never really saw him physically play but I had my family who did and after I grew up with them always telling and making me watch his games i always keep seeing his videos no matter what he always will make me be in aw of his gameplay. And that is to me what makes him the GOAT
You are so right about Jordan he just play like that every game.what a privilege I had to see MJ kids today never going to understand why he is the goat by far.
The way he stays in the air with open legs, one hand palmed at the same time is truly beautiful, we never have any players that fly like that after him. Can’t understand why people say Lebron has better athleticism than MJ. There’s nothing to compare~
LeBron had a unique combination of size, speed, and agility that makes him on par with MJ in terms of athleticism but MJ was so much more skilled and creative with it.
The most gifted athlete in the history of American sports. The competitive edge, the killer instinct, the other worldly athleticism. Never has anyone had this total package
He was an amazing athlete but Wilt was a freak. Same 48" vertical as Mike at 7'3". Ran a 10.8 second 100 meters and high jumped 6'7". Benched around 400 lbs.
i think he isnt the most gifted.. id say hes the most hard working... and the most willing to do everything bit of his soul to WIN. thats the essence of sports..and thats what fans see.
Best dunker, best scorer, best baller, best player, best teammate, best mentor, best athlete, best mind, best hands, best eyesight, best instincts, best finisher, best ever. Thank You MJ
I thumbsed this but then reviewed each to see if I _actually_ agree with all these statements. Some may be more obvious than others, but I actually think each _BEST_ you named here is true. The way I see it, sometimes God uniquely designed certain humans to stand as THE emblem or the quintessence of their art-medium / sport / discipline: clear examples would be Bach, Nadia, Newton, Leonard Euler, Michael Jackson, et al. And, thing is, I don't think every sport / craft necessarily has its clear _"one";_ in a lot of them it's not super clear ...but basketball is a category where it's very very clear (Michael Jordan.)
Vince is a better dunker, kd is a better scorer, bron is a better baller and player, this dude literally punched his teammates so no don't even go there. Best mentor hell no what is he mentoring??? Best mind is kobe, best hands is close but he don't even got most steals oat, best eyesight no bron, cp3, stockton, nash all are better. Infact anyone top 10 assists are better, best finisher is kyrie, best ever is bron.
Let me tell you why he is the GOAT. Because he can attract non basketball fan to watch all his highlights. I don’t watch play basketball and don’t even know the game rules. I watched his last 3 championship seasons.
Peak Wade resembled younger Jordan. Peak Kobe (may he rest in peace) resembled first 3peat Jordan, and current Kawhi resembles older Jordan. Mix them together into one player and still not close to the unfathomable talent Michael had.
I love kobe and lebron but really there is no point of comparing MJ with neither kobe nor lebron.. MJ is definitely on a different level. This killed the arguments on who the GOAT surely is.
I don't know how anyone could watch this video and still think LBJ is in the conversation of GOAT.I lived through it in Chicago, so I already knew, but this video is proof for anyone.
@@brucefranklin6295 a very accurate equivocation my dear sir... If I may also respectfully add: Eliminate having never lost in a finals (6-0)... Or having either series go to a game 7... And Eliminate the 6 finals MVP'S in those finals... He would still be the GOAT...
Please Don't consider this a highlight compilation... It's not... This is how dude played every game... This looks like one game in his career... Forget the rings--- he's attained GOAT status just based off how he played the game... The championships are just gravy...
Dare I say, the most well-edited basketball highlight video I've ever seen. Truly captures the greatness of MJ. A legendary 12 minute ride. Show this to your friends.
How can anyone, even the media indoctrinated basketball fans under 35, watch this video and say without laughing that MJ isn't the GOAT? This video is a damn good showcase of what he could do...every single game you knew there was something he'd do that you'd never seen before and for all of the highlight reel stuff, his fundamentals were incredible.
Aww are you that insecure how you have to bring up someone else that has nothing to do with this 😂 dude is so sensitive he'd break in half with a stick
The invincibility, the artistry, the improbability..........how can you watch MJ and not think he's the GOAT? Statistically a couple of guys might have some kind of a case but when you watch what he did to the league on a nightly basis and pulling off stunts like the ones he does in the entire video there can be no doubt about MJ being the GOAT.
Like the move where he went past shaq in the air under the basket and laid up on the other side. He wouldn’t even have to do that in today’s league as there would be no one and certainly no decent big waiting under the basket.
@anthony bryant u mean the players of today era cant make d3 teams? lol this era dont even know how to defend and just full of drama queens and floppers. LMAO
That sequence starting at 7:20 is just...all I do is shake my head! Jordan is the absolute BEST basketball i have ever seen. His approach to the game was beautiful to watch. He is just head and shoulders above the rest.
@@cumbusta9175 He isn’t even top 5 to be honest with you young man… I’d be willing to bet your in your 20’s… I watched DR J in the 70’s to be real with you Lebron is at #9… You have him massively overrated!
Unreal video editing that shows a lot of great rarely seen plays. Videos like this need to be at the very top of a search when kids search for MJ instead of the same old highlights mostly from the 2nd three peat or just certain Finals games. His entire career was a highlight reel and skipping his athletic prime is a shame. Just so incredibly majestic.
@@mosescuh3644 You're too cold to understand the 🔥 Jordan brought to the game. LeBron is just a wanna be legend with no true character. Jordan changed the game....what did LeBron do? Becoming the Vilain's face of the league.
@@johnbills3056 like it or not LeBron will be seen as the Jordan of this generation he's litterally been the best player in the league since his 2nd season besides curry in 2016 🤷
@@mosescuh3644 They made the league easy so LeBron could travel anytime he has the ball. It's a ladies' league now. LeBron is a media made superstar, nothing else.
@@mosescuh3644 You're wrong LeBron will be forgotten like all the past great players (Malone, Wilt) that falls short of peoples expectation of them because neither did he create his juggernaut nor defeat the juggernaut in his Era, last I checked LeBron could not beat none athletic shooting Steph. Steph and GSW will be more remember in the future than LeBron because of the dynasty they created and Steph changing the game. because until Steph did it the saying was you can't win without attacking the rim.
All, I can say, is show me a better player than Mike. These shorts are just a glimpse of his extraordinary talent. We have been privileged to see one of the greatest athlete in the History of Sports. There's no sense waiting for another Jordan. You won't see this kind of skill in a NBA player again in some 2,000 years: thanks for the video and the memories. Love this game for 65 years.
This montage should be put in the basketball hall of fame and played endlessly on a loop. I grew up at the perfect time to watch the real, undisputed GOAT. The beginning of cable TV, live worldwide sports, and the beginning of superstations, like WGN, that played all the Bulls' home games. I loved, cherished, and appreciated every single moment. Watching His Airness makes it difficult to watch today's sissified games with players that wouldn't die for The Game, like MJ. He was a different type of human.
@Rex Kramer aka Ted Striker I'm just seeing this comment, but you're right. It was hard for me to watch after he retired the first time, but I continued out of my loyalty to the Bulls and the other players I grew to love. This generation almost makes me hate ever watching Jordan though, because we were watching someone with such gift and standard for greatness that will likely never be duplicated again. And these new so called superstars are the worst, and watching LeBron, Kyrie, Harden, Durant, and others team hop, trying to stack the deck to win, spamming threes, all while disrespecting the generations before them makes me want to go crazy.
B.J. Armstrong recently said that we never saw the best of Michael Jordan because he would hold back in games so his teammates could flourish but in practice, he was an animal. My God. Imagine that!
@Ulysses432 Steve Kerr and Magic E. Johnson... Two names I haven't heard in ages. Thanks for the info and the memories, Man. I can't imagine something like that, neither.
I still don't understand how they don't put something like this on The Last Dance documentary for everybody to see, ESPN somehow has the same highlights that everybody has seen, and as iconic as they are, these mixes are actually better.
Agreed 100% most of the clips in this video aren't famous and haven't been seen but a lot of them are more impressive than the famous clips of MJ we see over and over again on ESPN
This is what a man that refuses to lose looks like. Like someone stated in the comments these are not highlights this is how he played every game! There will never be another Jordan.
It is i was thinking the same thing, he retired it broke hearts he came back there was hope, did it again, you just felt like he was going to play til he died.
This man's hang time was just ridiculous! That's what makes his layup ability so much more dangerous because he can literally linger in the air and adjust his shot at least 3 times to get a good look.
This is the best Jordan highlight video ever made !! His timing, rythm, hangtime, super athleticism, footwork, playmaking, giant hands, shooting, dunking, game winners, original fade away, defense, Jelly layup package all on display.Kobe is my favorite player but this proves who real GOAT is. Jordan is the best basketball player ever. Jordan-Kobe-Lebron in that order.
There's something else I noticed on most of his highlights...he plays through contact, without falling all over the place, like we was hit with a brick......
The clip at 7:04 was a perfect depiction of how smooth MJ's game was. The man was a true artist, a contortionist, an assassin, the ultimate competitor and was extremely tactical. He knew how to get the best out of his teammates and when to precisely attack his opponents during games. His style of play was so graceful and majestic to the point as if he was a ballerina on the court cause he displayed such beautiful footwork and knew how to put on a performance while captivating the audience. Michael Jordan was the definition of Poetry In Motion during his time.
@@cedrickfk1627 exactly, but even those really top greats of all time that earn their place, they just don't measure up to Jordan, it's not even disrespect, it's just a fact of life.
Kids these days dont understand this. Larry Bird would too. He got double n triple teamed so much back then. If you do that, he'll find the open man, if you don't he'll nail the shot. Defence these days is a joke
@Derrick Miles No it wouldn't. By the time the 90s came round, they pretty much worked like hell to block him out alot more. Then he just murdered teams with his 18-20 foot jump shot which he can nail all day long....
This brought me right back in time to the Jordan era! Hands down the best highlight video to date. Anyone wants to argue who's the GOAT,,, sit them down and watch this video. This was Jordan every single game! Pure awesome...
@Derrick Miles He changed nothing. He was a worse version of MJ although better than Lebron. Also Michael's shoes sold and are selling for a reason. He was, is and probably will be the best ever. Learn the game fanboy. Delusional like the bronsexuals.
@Derrick Miles You got no idea about basketball. DR J inspired MJ but MJ was a better version of him plus other skills. There is no comparison. Skillwise, strength, leadership, scoring, efficiency, defense, vertical jump and hanging on the air, post game, dunking and finally accolades. Kobe had all of them at a lower level than MJ. Also Kobe scored 55 points on a 40 years old MJ in a bad team while MJ despite his injuries and him being rusty was clearly the best player on the floor. Now that he could not do against a prime MJ. Stop being delusional, you are not the only one that played basketball in his life and you certainly do not know shit about the game when players admit MJ is the best ever and the eye test AND the accolades prove that it is true.
Contortionist, ballet dancer, gymnast, psychiatrist all in one basketball player. MJ is a one of a kind basketball player that we won’t ever see another like him play again. We’ll be lucky and fortunate to come across another player even close to this man. If one does come along, the feeling won’t be the same because MJ set that bar of standard sooooo high. Great days in basketball.......
I really hope, with all my heart that you were wrong and maybe his grandson will activate again those unique genes and deliver the next step on Basketball... or maybe on another Sport, who knows BUT, i'm entirely sure that we will see "Jordan" SHINE again on Basketball.
Red 5 Ya but the era where you had to grind and physicality is dead and over it’s all powderpuff league now so all we have is our RU-vid highlights from when we were kids which I’m grateful for
"There's Michael Jordan and then there's the rest of us" - Magic Johnson. God just decided to play basketball in 80-90-s and he chose MJ's body. Seems like LBJ fans didn't see MJ in 90s. I've watched both so i can compare and have my opinion. When i watch LBJ, i don't have reaction, just very good play, but i have no emotions. But when i watch MJ's games, still in 2020, this is something amazing, just other level. He moves so smooth, so artistically and his will to be the best with his killer instinct. Maybe some day someone will born will become better than MJ, but it didn't happen yet. I had a goosebumps while watching this vid, pure greatness!
FACTS! Michael Jordan movement is so smooth! I don't see any other NBA player who was so effortless when executing both offense and defense! it was insane!
MJ IS THE GOAT. PERIOD! Regardless of total rings, points, assists, etc, MJ IS THE GOAT. PERIOD! There were ballers b4 him, there are ballers after him...UNTIL we see someone else impact the world of basketball like he did, MJ IS THE GOAT. PERIOD!
Such a great highlights reel. Taking nothing away from the amazing Curry, Lebron etc... but MJ was guarded by the best players of his era and won MVP and scoring championships galore. He also defended the very best players of his era. He didn’t shy away from the challenge. He played guard and dominated the best. He posted up and killed whomever defended him. He dunked on the biggest of defenders, the toughest, and the most skilled. He shot game winners. Was clutch personified. Won 6 championships in an era when defense was really brutal. But most of all he brought beauty and romance to the game like none before him. He was a true cross over athlete admired globally like Ali. The GOAT.
Nobody in history has ever been able to do the things MJ has done. Look at the way he palms the ball, adjusts his shot mid air, maneuvers through traffic. It has never been matched!
Lebron has lead in his feet in comparison. Kobe is the closes we've seen with those attributes but even he is on a much lower level in all aspects of what you mentioned.
Yup. Somebody did an analysis of how he was able to do this. He releases the ball AFTER the apex of his jump rather than at the apex as most normal humans do. You have to have incredible strength in your legs to be able to do this. And MJ did it all the time, even on his signature fade-away shot.
Yep, and the only player I have seen that could perfectly release his shot on the way back down from the hangtime, and also completely change his shot in mid air, others try to do it, and some can some of the time, but not on the same level as MJ and as consistently.
This is the type of videos that anybody that says Kobe is better or closer Michael Jordan needs to watch. Kobe copied the old Michael Jordan with the fadeaways and footworks, but THIS Jordan, the high-flying, huge vert, hangtime Michael Jordan, no one can match. When was the last time Kobe had a hangtime moment like this? And to drive the point even further, A post prime Michael Jordan is even enough for someone like Koby to copy and to become one of the best players in the world. What that tells you?
For the younger generation, basketball is an art , watch this guy he is the greatest , he did stuff that 30 years later people wanna mimic , don't compare him to anyone just watch him, smoke a joint and watch him .
having an unreal vertical leap, and being able to palm the ball like a grape... it's incredible what MJ can do with a basketball and we can only imagine. i haven't seen one close to his level since.
@Viktor Koda Nah,Kobe just got MJ's Post Moves, Fadeaway and Footwork but not his whole game,They just saying Kobe is a Carbon copy of MJ because MJ's Signature Fadeaway Move is used by Kobe. MJ's Hangtime, Athleticism, Physical Gifts no one can do what MJ can MidAir lmao.
MJ is like a hybrid of Westbrook,Lebron,Kobe, Wilkins, Magic and Wade rolled into one super player. Like a genetically engineered and made in a lab humanoid or mutant created without weaknesses.
Was thinking the same. If you could create a player in a lab, he would be Michael Jordan. Perfect body, huge hands, incredible athleticism, high IQ. He could do everything at an elite level and had the heart and mind of a champion.
@@SirPiche Add incredible skills, excellent ball handler, unrelenting hard work, unbelievable footwork, and a killer panther like competitive nature, majestic and insane in the air, absolutely clutch and played on another level when it mattered the most, and despite what some have said, he did make his team mates better in his own way, particularly by demanding nothing but the best from them.
For those youngsters who haven’t had a chance to see Michael for a full season, THIS is a great representation on how superior Michael was. Every game was basically filled with highlight reels. Especially that 4th quarter.. there was this force like no other when Michael brought the ball from other side of the court. He would give you a confidence that at least 2 points will be made during that offence. Literally.
Should no one take no credit from Kobe and LeBron, definitely two Greatest of All Time! But this man, MJ, just has a little something special: the beauty, the smoothness, the artistry that his body his move presents in the game to all humans! Thanks God!
This poet from the heavens inhabited the air almost 30 years ago !!! It is unfair that people compare others with this monument to the perfection of the athlete. He dominated the sport and the world fell at his feet; He was the icon of sports marketing and he revolutionized it like nobody else. No other professional of any discipline is even close to him, nor Roger Federer, Maradona, Pelé, Ayrton Senna or Mohamed Ali. There is a before and after in the world after Michael Jordan.
MJ's abilities were out-of-worldly. The split second adjustments and decisions are the most mind-blowing aspect of his greatness. Will never, be another like MJ in our lifetime...perhaps ever.
“By no means can I save the world.” M.J. Maybe not but you made the world a little more tolerable every time we got to watch you play. Thank you Michael and thank you to the producer of this video.
Maybe not directly, but he surely has made the world a better place. How many people out there havent tried to be their best, if not in basketball, in many other endeavors of life like doctors, lawyers, politicians, architects, engineers, whatever, that were inspired by this man? For me that is his greatest legacy
Had to save it to favs. This literally encapsulates how MJ's athleticism deserves its own tier. His physical gifts were just made for the perimeter position. One of the many reasons he's the GOAT
MJ was a mix of Kobe, Kawhi Leonard, Kyrie Irving, and prime Derrick Rose. He had a mindset like Kobe, he was a great two way player and had giant hands like Kawhi, he had a lay up package like Kyrie, and he had D. Rose explosiveness. That’s a crazy mixture
Nobody looked better doing it than MJ. From the way he wore his uniform, bald head, shoes, suits and his style of play. He is just iconic. He shaped a generation.
I mean this guy was beyond words. Unmatched athleticism and he literally had no weaknesses. The greatest and by far the most impactful athlete of all time.
I have the complete MJ dvd’s and I have been seen hundred of videos in RU-vid but THIS FOOTAGE...... IS THE BEST!!! People, share this video for the LJ’s Fans can see the Real GOAT!!! Thank you so much for the dedication making this video! If you have more rare footage pleaseeeee! Take your tome and post it in RU-vid!!!!! Blessings!!!
I've watched a lot of videos on "His Airness", over the years! I was fortunate to be alive and kicking before he graduated High school. Grew up watching basketball, and playing that game fervently. This is the GREATEST short film on Michael Jeffery Jordan that I've EVER seen. If only it could be digitally enhanced! Also, some of the contact that guy took going to the hole would be classified as "assault" in today's pansified society, let alone that soft assed league dubbed the NBA (Never Basketball Again).. It's all about entertainment, now and it sickens me! The pansies of today's game can NEVER measure up to Mike! That there is a FACT!
