+Gore Elohim I'm sure! The Internet has brought out the worst in folk: mean-spirited comments, deception, HATE, etc. The Internet is only good for RESEARCH and online banking.
TheAngelicAngie Dolls - Kareem is one of the best. But Michael was easily the most dominant, controlling, and talented player to ever step on the court.
Right...when the young thorobred with supremely gifted and acrobatic skills along with never b4 seen hangtime was on full display. Hair on the head MJ slashing to the rim for something exciting for us to see once he was in the air attacking the rim splitting defenders stirring up some acrobatic incredible move, then the release of the ball on his way down giving us something different every single time.
@DevinDawson-xv4kv LeBron James has hair now what are you talking about. And yeah he does have hair here look again stop with the nonsense this was before he started shaving.
@@traviscarter1023 lebron is balding on top. He needs to come home and shave it. Balding is part of life, you'll either go grey or bald, or both. I'm grey about 85 percent grey, if I start balding I'm shaving it.
@metalmacabre9991 LeBron James got that surgery done have you seen him lately I don't think you have. They restored his hairline it looks different from 2015,2016,2017 and he has the money to get the surgery done. Not saying he had to do it because the females is still fuckin with him anyway look at his wife. And so many other women in the world that wanna sleep with lebron. And he's a billionaire I'm speaking like how yall would speak nowadays you know they like to throw that billionaire word around.
Those players from kareem and Russell's would've gotten smoked by mj then and in his prime. Old school dudes just don't know when to let go when a better player is around.
@MrSpliffstarz their levels to talent that's why there's a such things as hall of famers, not everyone in the NBA is a hall of famer but everyone in the NBA is talented but there's levels to this. Also you can miss me with that more athletic excuse cause those "so called" more athletic players have holes in their game and their longevity is short lived. Most of those more athletic players get injured a lot and will not win six titles
Yeah Mike was way underpaid back then but he was making 10s of millions off endorsements so he I guess he didn't really sweat it...but in his last couple years the Bulls tried to make up for it by giving him like 30 mil a year..most money per season at that time
@Ramses Stafford, you're correct Sr. Jordan said on one of his interviews on the BIG ass Oprah Winfrey show that today's players get fat contracts and that's why they don't work as hard because of all the money they're being given. He said that him, Larry, magic, Dr J Kareem and Scottie earned their money because it's not about the money and he's right Do you think he was right i mean look at the money they're being given today and now if they get a little cold they wanna sit out and not play or take some time off. What do you think?
@Ramses Stafford, thank you for responding. And ppl wanna bash him for gambling but it was his own money. Yeah he cheated on his wife but at least he never raped, beat her nor murdered anyone. So i guess in these haters eyes gambling is worse than that even though it's legal. Sr. I'm smh😒
@IzzyFizzy The way he described Larry was actually a compliment...he's crafty...not the most athletic..but he know all them tricks and said he was smart....so perhaps you stopped watching after he said Laimbeer and Bird
MJ looks REAL Young here in this clip. Even with his early success in the NBA he was never afraid of embracing the Dunk Contest to help resonate with the fans. Lebron should have been taking some notes.
I would agree those were better times me as person born late 90s. I think u were lucky best basketbsll games, best movies, entertainment, tv shows was great then just internet is developed.
mike Lowry same bro I was 12 in 89 too. Arsenio was the only late night talk show my pops would watch and anytime he had rappers on my dad would let me and my bro stay up to watch it
I love what he said about always surprising yourself within the art of creativity. It's so true. I'm an improviser in music, and I'm sure Mike was just "letting go" every single time he has access to the basketball. I know what that feels like behind a drum set. Great stuff.
First time seeing this interview his mentality is definitely unique dude is humble as hell for all the hype he gets in this interview literally compliment after compliment he just smiles and answers humbly still respect 💯
May 12, 2020. I know what you mean Arsenio....at the end when he did that last dunk.... all you can do is shake your head. Still fascinated after all these years!!!GOAT!!!
Michael Jordan will be a legend forever in basketball and this was a good interview with Arsenio Hall and I wish all players acted like this when they speak to all people in the public. And on a side note I have a you tube channel type in Russell Mills May 22, 2017.
Michael said "I do want $5 million but they haven't given it to me". It's crazy how the players had to jump through hoops (no pun intended) to get paid in 1990. Today you can be a rotational player and get a 4 year $70 million contract.
Growing up in Chicago for Jordan’s whole run. It was INSANE nobody can understand the hold he had on the city I actually took it for granted because I was just so used to how great he was. But when he left the bulls after the 6th chip and the bulls were torn apart by the Two Jerrys I then realized what a privilege it was to have this man on my home team
I don't like Jerry reinsdorf. How you own the bulls and the white Sox and could've gave jordan the bulls and Jerry kept the Sox and let jordan bring us more championships to the city. Smh and you see why the bulls are doing bad
So much of that burnout he had was his father's being murdered. That really took a lot out of him and his father always encouraged him to give baseball a real try. And so he did. Touching!
1:55 I revisit this clip from the interview so much because it's such a pure, humble, and concise way of describing the most flashy part of his game. It could even be applied to many facets of life.
Behind the modest smile he is an ultra, competitive killer, but smart enough and confident enough to keep quiet. No need to tell the world 'I'm the greatest, period', no need for a show as tribute to himself.
I vividly remember this interview when I was a young. I believe I was in Junior H.S. Man love this dude, such a class act and humble no Mamba mentality.
You're right. Being a musician, you may understand when I say the Michael Jordan remind me of Jazz. His ball-handling like that of Magic Bird and Wilt Chamberlain reminds me of a riff. Very spontaneous and joyous-"letting go.".
The most impressive part of MJ s career to me is the fact he was able to leave basketball for year n 1/2. Play a completely different sport. Then come back and then three more championships. And still played to that elite level. When professional athletes take too much time away from a sport. Normally it has a negative affect. Just shows how special Jordan really was.
MJ was such a humble and level headed young man....................and then the championships, money, and everything else happened and hes no where near what he was before the fame.
Jc333 Exactly, MJ changed the game the way Magic & Bird did 10 years earlier and Kobe did after Jordan retired. So when people still mentioned your name as one of the greats or the greatest period & people still buy your shoes too, yeah you get to be cocky too.
I like how he discussed burning out, this guy had at least 10 seasons playing into late may- june and didn't ever get hurt. He was jumping, running etc like a madman, there's few players that could do that. Very durable player, he probably took great care of himself off the court or just gifted. I think he's just gifted strong af like lebron is
Extremely underrated comment my thoughts exactly even think of the mental toll even if his body wasn’t giving out mentally he stayed sharp to when he could’ve got tired of it and started playing worse or just stopped trying even
He played 14 seasons and had a broken foot in the 80s, sprained wrist in early 90s, broken finger in late 90s and hurt his knee while on the wizards. Just sayin. He was and is amazing though!
All the Punishment he took against the Pistons alone was more than Lebron took in his whole career. They banned hand checking the year Lebron started in the NBA.
Dude is an absolute unit. My vertical leap might not be six inches. I can’t imagine what it it must feel like to fly through the air like that. He’s so quick it looks like he teleports from one place to another instead of running like us mortals.
Watchin' this is crazy, man. This was before he went on to become MICHAEL JORDAN. Who knew on THIS interview that he would go on to become the most popular basketball player in American history
Arsenio Hall's show was groundbreaking late night t.v....Arsenio gave us great, personal, revealing non-exploitative, laid-back entertaining interviews... it was great for black artists exposure from all genres & for others as well... It gave us a professional podcast feel b4 podcasts were a thang... always real and never phony... fun times & memories... forgot i seen this legendary episode live was so cool... & salute to Bow wow, he has definitely been exposed to a lot and grown into a man that has made his family proud !💯✌🏽
Funny thing is MJ grew up loving adidas and wanted to sign with them because adidas was the big brand at the time...but he went with Nike instead and the rest is history He made Nike what it’s become
The absolute greatest basketball player the world has ever seen and will ever see. He is the Alpha and the Omega. On the court he was God in human flesh. Stood out above all. If you didn't see it live you couldn't possibly understand. Highlights and classic videos just don't do it justice. Salute to the One and only G.O.A.T.....
"The art of creativity is that your always gonna surprise yourself. You never know what's gonna happen it just gonna happens" - Michael Jordan......1~Luv
