You are absolutely correct. Reinsdorf's the owner and has the final say. Goes to show he doesn't have the leadership skills to keep the org intact; he just let Krause steer the ship all throughout which brought the whole thing down. The damage has been done and it was too late to ask them back. More than 2 decades later, their org still remains to be a joke.

From what I've learnt, everyone's biggest mistake in this franchise was the thinking that they were the reason for the Chicago Bulls success other than Michael Jordan. How wrong they all were. Without Michael,no one achieves anything in this club...period.He's a one man band. The NBA would never had the success it did without him either. It was all on his shoulders. He was the NBA.He was the global icon. Not the NBA,not Jerry, not Phil, not Scotty. No other player in history had the impact like he did.And all of this was before the evolution of social media. That's how big Michael Jordan was and still is. When are we all gonna get out heads out of our arses and come to terms with this.He is it.There's no one else. The greatest player ever!

yet, he had a chance to come back and could've had any contract he wanted but he didn't. So much for a one man band. The one man band would've been coming back to a new coach, no Pippen, and no Rodman. They would've had money to sign another all star and decent power forward. Might have even been able to get Charles Oakley back. But bottom line is that team wasn't going to win and MJ knew it, so he retired so his story can end well.

Until you realize that it was the mainstream media that made michael jordan and that nba didn't start with michael jordan and enda with michael jordan. The same way boxing doesn't start with ali and ends ali. Michael jordan fans are the stupidest fans. Bill russell fans are way more mature and understanding and realize basketball at the end of the day is a team game. You wanna play by yourself and be a one man band, then you go out in play 1 vs 5 in try to win 82 games and play 48 minutes while trying to inbound the ball to yourself and guard all 5 positions and rebound while guarding 1 vs 5.

@BeastSquad-uq1wh I understand what you're saying, but he's not put on a pedestal for no reason.C'mon,I wasn't born yesterday. It's his game more than anything else that you're saying that did all his talking. You can say it's because of this and because of that, but if he doesn't perform out there on the court, there's nothing to talk about.I honestly haven't seen any other player to this day that tops his game despite all the statistics. You say the media made him great, that's a crock of sh*t.The media were only there promoting his game because he had one.No game,no media attention.Do you get it?The media have no control whatsoever over what he did on the court, nor did the Bulls organisation. They were all riding on the coattails of his game. How do you not see this?Let me say this.If Jordan had played this way back in the era of Cousy,Russell and Chamberlain,,his game would still be revered like it is today, guaranteed.Russell and Chamberlain don't have this type of game, neither did Kareem for that matter. If it were so,they would be spoken about more and more over Jordan, but their not.Even I would, but I'm not.I'm no dummy,I know what I saw.I don't need anyone to tell me otherwise, and you can include all of them.He is not at the center of discussions for no reason, despite you saying others made him who he became, because only he can perform to do the things he did on the court the way he did.No person or organisation can help him out there on the court despite all the help they provide for him.He still has to perform and perform he did, like no other I know of.He's the best by far, hands down, everybody.

Krause did a good job bringing in Scottie Pippen and Horace Grant as well as role players to place around Jordan but i dont think it would be too hard to build a team around a talent like Jordan. Jordan is the main reason why the Bulls won 6 NBA titles in 8 years. The Bulls didnt win a title without Jordan.....still to this day 22 years later! If you had no Jordan... Krause would have never have put together a championship team! Krause's inability to realize this was his biggest failure. Krausse will go down as the man who broke up the Jordan led Bulls championship team too early and not as the man who helped the Bulls win 6 titles.

I think a big problem in all of this was the ego of Jerry Krause. As a general manager, you're supposed to be "in the shadows" so to speak. It's a hard and thankless job, but that's just the way it is. You labour in obscurity, while the players and the coaches get all the praise and credit. It's not fair, but it is what it is and it's always going to be that way. If you want to know what happens first-hand whenever people forget their place, all you have to do is look at the Dallas Cowboys after they were bought by Jerry Jones. But he just had to open up his mouth. He just couldn't shut up and you see where the Cowboys are right now.

In the game of professional basketball, we all know that there are people in these different organizations all the way from the owners to the players that have incredible egos. I think it's a matter of everybody staying in their own lane and just doing their job and keeping their mouths shut, especially when it comes to the media. If people within their respected organizations would just have a sit down about their problems, I think that things could have been handled a lot differently. But of course some people love the controversy, as well as the drama that comes along with it. Some people don't want peace and tranquillity. They want the drama and the chaos that comes along with it.

Both sides were wrong. Jordan was always making fun of Jerry Krause which didn’t help matters. It made it worse. You NEVER make fun of people and their medical problems of obesity. I understand why Jordan had problems with ownership but he handled it wrong. Reinsdorf and Krause both committed morally wrong acts. If they thought that they were the only reasons for the success of the team, then that’s a problem. If Krause is the most hated man in the sport, then they probably need to put Reinsdorf up there with him. I’m surprised how much blame Krause gets and how little Reinsdorf gets. They are equally to blame and unfortunately this is the downside of fame. That’s what they’ll be remembered for. Yes the players are doing the work. Just remember that it takes skill for management to do what guys like Krause and Reinsdorf did. I recall Michael Jordan’s being an owner of the Wizards and was never able to achieve the success as an owner that he had as a player when playing for the Bulls. Even Charles Barkley called out Jordan for underperforming as an owner which resulted in Jordan alienating and refusing to speak to Barkley because of those truthful statements.

Magic, Bird, and many other greats had to endure coaching turnover. Magic made it to the finals under rookie coach Dunnleavy and Bird played under Rogers and Ford (I believe) after winning under KC Jones. Nobody wants to talk about this, but this was Jordan just protecting his legacy if anything. Him coming back in 99 with no Phil, no Pip, and no Rodman likely meant a playoff exit or a finals loss at best.

Krause actually deserves some credit for building that team. He did a good job. But he also deserves the majority of the blame for the implosion. He just didnt know how to properly treat Jordan and and Pippen because of his insecurities. Jordan is the best player ever and the main reason they won. Pippen is maybe the best defensive player ever and was almost as important to the winning as Jordan. Thoses 2 deserve the lions share of the credit.

you're assuming everyone else were absolute angels to deal with. This documentary makes it seem like the 98 team was waking up eager and singing kum-ba-ya together, but that's so far from the truth. They were on their 3rd band aid from the 1996 team with a 1 year deal for Mike, a Rodman getting more bored with every game, and Pippen who wanted a new contract. MJ's alpha attitude also made it tough for other players to stay and nobody from the 91-93 squad was leftover for the 2nd 3-peat. Even when teams were the best of friends like the 80s Showtime Lakers they inevitably implode. Things came to a screeching halt with Pat Riley in 1990 after they won 5 championships together. And that was WITHOUT Magic retiring in the middle of the run like Jordan did and gave everyone much needed break from each other. Just the fact they won 2 more times after 96 is a miracle and everyone takes that for granted. Phil Jackson showed that even better owners like Jerry Buss can grow weary of his demeanor and they got rid of him not only once, but twice after he won multiple titles. Heck, he was even engaged to Jeanie and that wasn't enough.

It seems to me that Michael Jordan for all his basketball skills and greatness is a petty individual who holds insane grudges. As far as the owner is concerned, I think he did good to just stay out of everything and let Mr. Krauss do his job. At least he wasn't constantly meddling like Jerry Jones of the Dallas Cowboys is. Yes, Jerry Krauss has his faults. He also did a lot of things right along the way as well. I think the way that Michael Jordan teased him was really cruel and childlike. Yes, some of it he brought on himself but come on, are we all adults, or no? There were times that Michael Jordan acted like a spoiled little brat and unfortunately there were times he had to be put in his place, and Jerry Krauss was put in the unfortunate position to have to do that.

The bulls fans and players should kiss jerry krause behind for helping orchestrate the trades that got him the 6 rings, He (jerry) might be an donkey to work for, but he assembled the team and the coach he needed to win. He (jordan) does the playing which he is good at, and with the help of the NBA to become the star that he is. Jerry likewise is doing his job which is to be strict and unforgiving to his players, he may be a donkey and a lot of players and fans seemed to hate him since if your a jordan supporter its kinds automatic for you to hate what he hates, but in the end he did his job. Crazy when it comes out years later that Phil was offered the job back, Reinsdorf asked Jordan to not retire & to give Phil time to change his mind. Jordan said no, Dennis was crazy & Scottie was injured during the finals, that’s he was done. Phil eventually stuck to his word of not retiring because the whole time he had his eyes on the Lakers job Sauk g years before that Shaq was the player the triangle was perfect for. Krause got the blame, the media as you see in this video pushed the narrative. Krause definitely deserves credit for building championship rosters. The very thing he got mad at Krause about trade for Cartwright is the move they needed. Phil sits here & says he was offered the job again despite previous issues but because he & Jerry said BEFORE that, he didn’t want to come back. That in itself is saying he could’ve come back. The rest are pushing the narrative that Reinsdorf could’ve did more, what more can you do than go back in your word & offer Phil the job again anyway. They were at the end of their run no matter what, they had a couple years at best at top & Phil knew Shaq & Kobe were next up & left to keep his thing going.
