I agree. One player doesn't make a team and they're not going to pay and carry two players earning more than $40 mil/year. Cashman is not going to get anyone at trading deadline. Them getting JD Davis says it all.

To be perfectly honest, the yanks schedule was soft up until then. And even up to that point they were losing series to contending teams. How did the Yankees get this terrible, after playing great from April to mid June? The Yankees are sinking like the Titanic, now in second place. I’ve seen this scene last year and 2022, this has the making or the ingredients of disappointing ending for the Yankees and fans for 2024. There needs to be accountability if there’s no championship by firing Boone and Cashman.

If Mr. Softy isn’t firm or puts pressure on players with poor performances or lack of hustle, the end result is what the Yankees are experiencing right now. Unpopular opinion. If this can make it to the Kay show, would love to hear their feedback. If everything is so bad at the moment which it is, then don’t sign Soto and get rid of Judge. The team is spiraling out of control with the two best players in the game, every night in the line up and they can’t win. Use that 80 million a year (assuming Soto gets 50 a year) and get good athletic guys. If right now our goal is get to the playoffs with a $300 million dollar payroll, then do it with $200 million.
It is far too many problems to solve in one trade deadline. Hell, I wouldn’t think they could fix this team if they had an entire winter to fix the roster. They have to seriously consider being sellers if this keeps up.

I think struggling players that were doing well earlier in the year, have to go back to basics. Management needs to use positive reinforcement to help these players regain their form. Maybe first work on their mechanics and repetition and then have the players watch videos of the games when they did well. Next, ask the players if they remember how did it feel and how their body felt/that sensation of success when they performed, etc. Finally, ask the players what do videos of them putting on a show mean. Let them come up with their answer, hopefully they will realize that they did it before and could do it gain and regain their confidence and self-esteem. On the other hand, if management feels that the players are just not good enough, get rid of them, why drive the players and yourself crazy...?
