Parents spanked their children back then! It was called discipline. Thank you for posting this! I remember when it first aired on ABC We were so excited for the 5 th season to begin when they moved to Winoka. Such an exciting time for this awesome show! RIP Michael Landon! You touched so many lives with your brilliant work! Almost 31 years and we still miss you!
Electronics took over the kids. I got spanked for implying i may run away when i did not want to eat. He taught important lesson on tv of the way it was in early days and kids today could never live in those times. I had to chop wood and shovel coal growing up i had to work around the house no time for play much. I loved Bonanza and Little house my mom came from a family of 15 kids and poor.
@@RESULTSofMERCY Michael Landon was no saint. Not by any means. Don't get me wrong, I still think he was a decent human being an extremely flawed one who made plenty of pretty major mistakes in life and had his demons.
Richard Thomas was a handsome man in his 20s and 30s i don't really like Michael landon not after all the stories I heard about him but Richard Thomas was handsome in the 1970s and 1980s
@@weshunter_musicmanThere is a lot you don't know about him. He didn't pay the main actors on LHOTP enough and cheated them out of a decent salary. He came to work wasted every day, bragged about his sex life to anyone that would listen and cheated on his 2nd wife like he did the first. If you can't tell from this interview what an angry man he is, you have no judgment of character
God made a gifted man🙏🏽🥰🌹He left us same year my mother passed on. That year was the hardest for me. Little House on the Prairie was a show Mom made us watch & than we had to go to bed afterwards. Thank you Mr Landon for being part of our family💓🌹
My parents were also very toxic they never divorced but as a kid I used to wish they would have because of the turmoil in our home 😢 due to the turmoil Michael grew up with he was able to bring years of joy to so many people so I think he was VERY successful ❤❤
We need more Michael Landon's in this world He was so genuine and honest about who he is and why.. I've always been a fan But the more I learn about Michael the more I admire him as one of the greatest men that ever lived who I'm sure had his flaws.. But you can tell that he believed in God Almighty and the bible above all else..and he never hid that fact from anyone.. He shared his knowledge with all of us with the kind of roles he played on the tv shows he was involved with.. when you look at Hollywood in 2021 it's almost impossible to see God in anyone's hearts.. Michael Landon was a great humanitarian who used his platform to remind all who watched him of God and basic common sense values to live by
It's true that we need more Michaels Landons in this world, but if there's more, it won't be our dear and only Michael. So leave the world as it is for him to be the only Michael Landon.
I dont hold his personal life against him. I am sorry that this marriage did noy work out bur seems sad how it ended and no one really mentions it. The movie that Michael Jr. did Is a good one for those who have not seen it yet. Landon gave us great tv and was a wonderful tv father figure. I loved all of his shows and he gave me a "dad figure" when i needed one❤
Little House was by far one of the very best shows ever on tv and it resonated with people because of the message in the episodes as well as the simplicity of the show not to mention the obvious bond and love that was between the actors on the show ❤❤
He was the First Star I related to since I wet the bed as a kid & was ashamed about it. His voice mesmerized me whenever I heard him encourage others on his shows, the passion he brought from his own life. God Bless you, Michael.
This interview is incredible! Michael speaks so open-heartedly, I was totally absorbed by what he was telling about his life, himself, his beliefs... Thanks so much, Helane! 😊
Check out this interview if you haven't seen it already. Michael chatting with kids. So cute! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3Pprar8ew9Y.html
Michael Landon beautiful inside/out, we need a lot more like him especially in Hollywood. The good die young, I love you Michael Landon, so genuine & honest RIP.
@@anthonyintravio8272 he's under attack now by the actress who played his wife in "Little House on the Prairie " claiming he talked about sex off cam and talked about how women smell after sex which turned her stomach (always 2 sides eh)
@@weshunter_musicman Michael Landon was human like anyone else. Back in the old days men were able to tell dirty jokes about women and talk about sex in the most dirtiest way. Back in the old days women didn’t make a big deal about it like it is today with sexual harassment going on with lawsuits and people getting fired or going to jail. Michael Landon was not a perfect human being. As we see Michael on the TV screen playing Little Joe Cartwright on Bonanza for 14 years and the Charles Ingles on Little House on the Prairie and then the show that he created by writing, acting, directing and producing the hit sit com by playing an angel named Jonathan Smith that helps families stay together and love one another all came out of his hidden feelings that came from within his heart was some what all make believe. He was married three times and had 9 kids, 6 biological kids and 3 adopted. That right there should show people that he wasn’t a perfect husband or a perfect father. The first time was when he was married he was 19 years old Eugene Orowitz. Then when he change his name and his image, he was this big TV star at 22 years old named Michael Landon who then adopted his first wife Dottie’s son and two other kids named Joshua and Jason. Then 7 years later he divorced her and gave Jason back to the adoption agency and then met and married his second wife Lynn. Then he and Lynn had 3 more kids and he adopted her 1 daughter that she had from a previous relationship. After 19 years of marriage to Lynn, he divorced her to marry a much younger woman named Cindy Clerico who was 21 years younger then him and had 2 more kids with her and bought 2 huge homes. Michael Landon talks about in his interviews how his sad childhood was that his own parents didn’t show any love and affection towards each other or to him, but he doesn’t look at how he hurt his 2 wives by divorcing them and his own children by keeping his own family that he created stay together. I’m not saying this to change anyone’s feelings about they should love or hate Michael Landon, all I’m saying is that Michael Landon was not a perfect and great human being. Remember this, Michael Landon was an actor, a man who can pretend to be anyone he wants to be, he was rich, he was famous, he took control over everything in his life and he had an ego problems that was about himself. One thing I will say that he was very financially generous to his family by giving all his 9 kids $5 million each and money to his grandchildren towards there education and $45 million in cash and 2 homes valued at $16 million to his wife. He was only human. He was Michael Landon.
I watch highway to heaven every single day 🫶🤗🌈🙏…wouldn’t miss seeing his memorable faithful stories he created on that show. He’s a Hero and and Angel 😇..He was sooo handsome, brilliant, funny and just a descent person on this earth.. I’m sure he’s right next to our Father in Heaven…The whole cast was awesome…Loved Victor French too…also the guy in the wheelchair…(Scottie) I cannot think of his name at the moment..♥️♥️🍃🙏🙏🍃👍🤗🌈😇😇🫶🫶👱🏻♀️🌟🌟🌟
4:15 that’s exactly how my parents raised me… no tv in the room , no video games during the week . Only on weekends starting Friday night ending Sunday early evening .
MICHAEL LANDON WAS ONE OF MY FAVORITE ACTOR FROM LIL JOE ON BONANZA AND LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRE . AND HIGHWAY TO HEAVEN HE WAS ALWAYS SO LOVING SMART HANDSOME VERY BEAUTIFUL SOUL. I MISS HIM SO DEEPLY. I STILL LOVE MICHAEL LANDON. HE WAS A TRUE ICON. NOW HES A ANGEL IN HEAVEN. R*I*H* ANGEL. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😢😢😢😢
It's amazing. Every time I hear what he says, I fall more in love with him. He was so smart. He seemed like an excellent person to talk to. That person you can trust. My only true love its Michael ❤️💞
He is so correct about television. We homeschool and our television is COMPLETELY TURNED ...OFF..TILL ABOUT 5 OR 6 PM...But I noticed the kids starting to ENJOY ..THE 5ELEVISION OFF AND WE DO COMMUNICATE MORE ...Pandemic has really changed lives ..GOOD OR BAD,,,we can learn to bond and be closer as families and people ,❤️🙏
The fact that the track team in his high school pulled a prank by holding him down and shaving his head? How mean and awful! That's life changing. That's a scar that will never heal. Bunch of jerks!
LOVE that there was an expanded version of this interview all along, and now we get to see it thanks to you! I was smiling right from the start with the Old McDonald sing along. The transition at 3:39 to Michael's gorgeous face with that look upon it, and the music underscoring it, was sublime. This was the best insight into Michael and his home, his family, his philosophy and his life. Thanks Helene 😃
Hola, hello beautiful world God Almighty bless all ❤️we were blessed to have had him truly bless he diffinitly left a body print not just a Foot print God Almighty bless all ❤️🌈❤️
This is she was a sad interview in so many ways. His childhood was so far from the idyllic families that he was a part of on TV. His parents were at odds and his mother had a severe mental illness . The story of him getting to go to college and being bullied and the teammates cutting his hair. The part when he tells of his great love of his wife Lynn and how she was the turning point of his life. It was sad that he left Lynn for a much younger wife . In the last sentence when she asks " when you get to be an old man what do you want to be remembered for"We now know he didn't get to live to be an old man.
He was trying to fix the wrong and the pain in the world, through writing deeply emotional stories. Who knows the real truth, but the story is he was never satisfied with himself, and he says here how much he loves and needs his wife Lynn, but he cheated on this marriage as well as the first.
You could always count on Babawawa for the ridiculous questions....remember "if you were a tree, what kind of tree would you be?" Never understood her appeal.
Yes the guys lie. My mother stopped talking months at a time. Then my sisters stopped talking to me and wouldn't let me hang out with the girls and boys and basically locked me in my room until I joined the Navy at 19. I wish I could talk to Michael.
She asked some stupid questions such as 'why weren't you a good student'. (Some people don't do well at school). Also asking about sex was gross and no ones business. It's a sin to have sex before marriage anyway. Then asking 'are you a success'. That's for others to decide. Walters was overrated.
My father was abusive to my mother and to my oldiest sibling he wasn't their father so he abused them too soo i would wish my mother to leave my father eventually She divorced him Thank God God bless all ❤️🌈❤️
Your channel is wonderful. I just wonder what caused the split with Lynn? I don't know much about it but it's sad. But then his last children wouldn't be here.
Jajajaj valla casita de la pradera!! Para pensarlo q me gustaría nunca cambio esos lugares rústicos por esos lugares donde ami lo q me dejan es una fachada. Q aún se q si Fue real de esas persona q lo vivió .
Some of her questions weren't necessary.... like the spanking of his children and degrading him and asking him how he learned about sex... totally unneeded
Definite proof that discipline works. Discipline never hurts anyone, and kids these days could use some of it. Now kids walk all over their parents and use foul language. He's the perfect example of how to be a father, more should be like him. Why did Barbra act so surprised that he spanks his kids? He's human and believes in didcipline.
Her reaction was just weird and I couldn't help but laugh. Then she goes on to ask him some really weird questions about his early life. He handled it very well!
There's another Cosby connection- when Michael and Lynn broke up and Michael began a relationship with Cindy, the "scandal" was big enough that Kodak replaced Michael as their spokesman with Cosby. That's right, they felt Michael's image as a family man who women can trust was damaged and went with Bill Cosby, who Kodak along with the American public felt did embody those values. What a joke that turned out to be huh? Michael's legacy is intact, while Cosby's is ruined and Kodak is obsolete. Michael got the last laugh.
@@angelofmercies4602 and what Michael admitting that he hits his children and won’t let them watch television Monday to Friday except for his own show Little house on the prairie. Creepy. Barbara doesn’t even raise an eyebrow 🥵
@@knownpleasures he didn't hit them he spanked them, don't twist it to make it sound like child abuse. Don't make his kids out to be victims. As he said it was only when his kids knowingly lied to their father. A spanking to deter them from doing it again, followed by talking it out. That's how it was. No TV during the week was so that his kids would focus on what they needed to do to thrive - their homework and after school activities, reading and exercise. He gave them their weekends to do as they please, so if they wanted to just sit and watch TV then they could. It was a healthy balance and it's called discipline. Not creepy at all. To sum up, Michael wasn't a child abusing creep. You have a warped perspective if that's what you took from this interview.
That's correct used to be bills house. Huge huge house it is. I agree with a lot he says but never heard anyone not allowed tv all during the week. Do your homework then you should be able to watch if you want. The kids of today have i phones multiple tvs Netflix mobile phones and people going to university keeps rising each year. But that aside still a great man. He had an awful childhood too so he was very mentally strong to come through all that
If Michael's mother was Irish, even if his father was Jewish, how could he really claim to be Jewish? 🤔🤔 The lineage has to be through the mother, or am I wrong?
He was Jewish because he identified as Jewish. He had a bar mitzvah. He was buried in a Jewish cemetery. And by the way, Irish isn't a religion. It's a nationality.
