@@filipeoliveirarudess not even just Brazilian best bassist, but also best player in the world right now I guess. And he's only 26, so it's still a looong way to go for him to shine even more
But every 'heavy Jaco influenced' player like him, cannot be escaped at all to be seen/heard (almost like) jaco, which no matter how high I respect Jaco as a true legend (and also all my respect for the great bassist pipoquinha),.. is a bit boring for me.
His walking behind the piano solo is worthy of comment as much as the solo - great note choices and swing feel. He's obviously listened to acoustic bass players.
Wow! I'll be honest, I expected your solo to be more of a flashy shredfest, but you did it so gracefully and with such taste that it's impeccable. The sound of the horn section is a true homage to Jaco, feels like listening to his Birthday Concert again. Bravo!
One of the musical wonders of the world, Michael Pipoquinha! Your performances in Grahamstown, South Africa in July 2017, remain a most unforgettable memory. Every moment was off the charts. Big love to you, Mestrinho and Alex
Holy s..t - thats why I love and play fretless bass... (NOT as good but...) - what a BAND!!!!!! Edit: I cant stop listening to it... impossible skills and musicality...
Fantastic! Great orchestra and great Pipoquinha! Jaco would be happy with Pipoquinha, who took his music and his influence to another level. (and who could not like this gig?)
My review: Really nice feel. Great notes. Very fine bass work. No thumb fest. Subscribed. Review in my head: Holy crap! Wow! Are you kidding! No way! Where can I find more!
@@wurlybird9no doubt, and i do hear a big jaco influence. but jaco's time feel is like trane's, once they start playing subdivisions smaller than an 8th you can tell it's them instantly.
