I don't think the Warriors are anywhere near done, as far as competing for the title again this year. I do, however, think that the gap between them and the rest of the league has closed up a bit and now a lot of other teams young talent is getting better and some are entering their primes. Combine that with the fact that the entire league has had a couple years to specifically make moves to help them improve against teams like the Warriors who play a fast paced, ball movement oriented 3 point-centric and player movement centered play. Not only has the entire league made roster changes to counter these very good jump shooting teams, but they've also now got experience playing against them for a few seasons and have game plans for them now. Add on to that, the fact that there are now more than just the Warriors playing a game plan that's based on Jump Shooting. Houston is another very good perimeter shooting team, as is up and coming Dallas (who looks very dangerous), OKC has improved a ton in perimeter efficiency, Denver has been an extremely potent perimeter shooting team for a few years (only now they have a good defense as well) So the league has had time to adjust to these high octane, perimeter shooting, 3 is better than 2 based teams, and so really now it all comes down to execution against teams who are becoming better and better at defending that play style. SOO I really do believe Cousins will help them tremendously, because he brings a whole new look, and brings many more post opportunities and just possibilities in general. So now if the jumpshots aren't falling whether it's due to just off shooting that night, or the opposing team playing good perimeter defense or a combo of the two (like they had against the Lakers Christmas day) now they can just go into the Post with Demarcus when they can't get the 3's to fall. I feel he's going to play a big part in them making it back to the Finals, predicting they make it back to the Championship round, like we're all expecting them to.
