As a songwriter, I am shocked at how clever and thoughtful the lyrics actually are. 90% of pop lyrics sound utterly clicked and interchangeable. This is at at least trying to think outside the box a bit.

Instrumentally, this music is 80s-tastic and I love that… In terms of technique, she’s an excellent singer. In terms of her own individuality, she’s not exactly the best, but that’s just because it just stylistically sounds too much like other modern pop singers. Even though the actually singing from a compositional perspective is certainly excellent. I think she should really dig deep and see what made the pop and rock singers of the 70s, 80s, and 90s really tik and what makes them so distinct from modern pop singing… And I bet her next song will be one of the best things ever.

I love Michael Knowles. He’s such a genuine person, and I love that he was jamming to this song the whole time and he was able to admit that it’s a good fun song. It’s nothing revolutionary or inspirational but it’s a fun thing to dance to. He also read the song pretty perfectly in my opinion for being a middle-aged man I think he understood the assignment that Sabrina Carpenter was trying to get across for the most part.

You know, since Michael Knowles is an actor (or a former one anyways), I think one role he should play is the one of the early 19th century opera composer, Vinceno Bellini. First off because they are both Sicilian/Italian and second, I'm sure Michael Knowles looks like the part, based on the depictions of Bellini at the time. And Michael is a musician, even though I think Bellini was more of a keyboardist, whereas Michael is a guitarist. Never the less.

nah she is really good and i haven’t been into a lot of artists recently, but for a pop song she can always give you a good melody, and the lyrics are are so good. also vocally is so good!!!!!!! haven’t had a pop star come up in awhile that was worth the hype in my opinion!

Matt is always so nice and not unnecessarily with his song reviews! I thought this song was a good warning for her boyfriend who has a problematic past and it's a public warning 😂 It's hilarious that she did that and way better than other artist who put their partners in the most romantic songs and then they break up.
