Randomly, the discussion about choosing to enjoy meals rather than just grab something quick is very important. I decided in college to not allow myself to do any homework while eating, didn't matter if it was lunch or dinnner or a quick snack. Eating gives me those few minutes to take a break that I might not take otherwise. It's a very useful habit to get into.
For me, it's not so much that British people sound more intelligent than they would with American accents. It's that their accents are more interesting and make me engage more with what they're saying. Between that and the different vocabulary versus American vernacular, it makes them feel like more eloquent and effective speakers. But that's just my take. :)
I remember having a massive crush on Michael back in the day. I don't know what hoodoo that man has been doing, but he doesn't seem to have aged at all! As always, great chat - it's always so much fun listening to you guys!
When Michael was telling us where he grew up and I could see Billy's face like ....? I called he'd do the " so if my hand was America..." and he did... XD I love you guys for it! Thanks for this weekly podcast, it's brillant!
Just yesterday I was going through Inside of You with Michael Rosenbaum and found his podcast with your two and now here is the reverse!! Can't wait to listen!!
I saw McCartney in the late 80's during his friends of the earth tour....amazing show. I am so pleased to be old enough to remember that impromptu final concert the Beatles did on the roof of the Apple Building.
You guys are killing me!! 😂 Your subtle, undertone, slightly off-color humor is perfect!! I love watching you here. Thank you both for being a part of my younger life in LOTR, and in the “now” of my 50’s. I appreciate you so much on every level, and I don’t feel so damned lonely when you’re here with me. 🥰❤️ My cats even come running when they hear your voices and intro music! 😻😻😻😻
i was literally just listening to the episode of Michael's podcast with Dom the other day on the plane, and was finishing it when I saw this episode was posted :O
Even watching the sponsored ads is entertaining when Billy reads them! How amazing is this :D I have listened to all the episodes on Spotify by now...and then realized I can now actually enjoy them again...watching the episodes :D
The taking time to 'relish' the moment and give that hour self care at meal time. I love that idea, thanks Billg! Thanks Dom! I really need to start doing this myself, I'm more of the rusher like Rosie said. More in the moment for me now. Especially with meals as I've always struggled eating
Geez, I just can't keep comments to myself today... I like this podcast so much I've made these guys my imaginary friends - as in I'm friends with Dom, Billy and John (sp?) in my imagination! Not to worry, though - I'm all too aware of the reality of life. It is nice to escape for a bit, though, and that is why Tuesday is my favorite day of the week - Podcast Tuesday, where I listen to the Friendship Onion, then sail away on my imagination's fancy!
I’m out here building a playlist of every song MENTIONED on the podcast, just not played, and interviews on Spotify on the subjects they talk about, dudeeeee I
Hi guys! I love this show! I've always loved TLOTR movies. I never read the books but the movies are my favorite movies of all time. I have a suggestion for Eat The World. Liver Mush. That's something that is kind of specific to my state, NC. I love it. It's usually a great breakfast meat. Mack's is a really good brand name for it. It is usually just cooked on a pan. A lot of our friends from up north who've ever tried it hated it, lol. But it would at least be interesting to try.
Ok, best Lex Luthor of all time AND you guys sang Yaz together? This came out on my birthday, boys. Favorite present. Edited to say: Michael's face when Bills was talking about Dom eating organic blueberries out of his own poop...
Left handed guitarist of 25 years here! Playing left handed does in no way feel unnatural, it is how our orientation is mapped in our brains and feels as natural as a right hander :) what is unnatural, is the price mark up on left handed guitars..
I think they said that it would feel unnatural, because Paul McCartney is right handed (or to be fair, he is probably ambidextrous). I don't know if he has ever outright said he was right handed, but I feel it's fair to of them to assume that he is as he does everything not instrument related - including writing- with his right hand, and in that case playing with his left hand would be a little unnatural for him as it is not his dominant hand. Though he plays the drums right handed.
@@teeluh1 I see what you mean, although doesn't really work like that - I play guitar and write left handed, everything else is right hand orientated. You instinctively know when starting an instrument or activity which feels most comfortable orientation wise, as that will feel most dominant. Unless you are left hand orientated, deliberately playing right handed (as a lot of musicians do through choice of guitar models) or vice versa, which would be a very odd decision!
Love these so much, they've made Tuesday my favorite day. But does anyone else feel like they should use "an unexpected guest" for guests such as today's. But for guests such as Sean Astin and Elijah Wood, use "a long expected party". Just for some extra flavor
YAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSS I would love to see the ENTIRE Fellowship on here so far! I mean, Dom & Billy run it, and Elijah and Sean have already been on, so that leaves... Ian, Viggo, Sean (Bean), Orlando, and John if I have it correct. Which would mean TEN more episodes!!!
Good on you, watching the McCartney doc!! He is a lefty but he can also play right and play the chords upside down. Ever since the Beatles he does lots of non Beatles genius. Ever listen to the lyrics of Monkberry blues delight. Some dead dark lyrics. I'd love to see you play it, Billy.
Absoulutely love the show it just gets better and better. I must say though this was probably not the best episode to watch whilst on lunch in the office due to poo talk. I loved it all the same. Please never stop. Whitecastle is the thing of legends especially if you have seen harald and Kumar get the munchies.
I was in high school the first time I heard the Beatles. In 1962, nobody thought Beatles were middle of the road. They are the beginning, middle and arrow pointing forward down the road.
My only memory of White Castle hamburgers is back in college and good friend of mine insisted our group (we went on a spring break trip to Detroit to do some volunteer work through a student organization called Alternative Spring Break) stop for dinner there; it was a family tradition for her and her family to have some White Castle burgers whenever they were in the midwest (around St. Louis area). All I really remember thinking was...what's the big deal? lol. The burgers are really small (a kind of niche thing for them which in of itself is fine) and the meat wasn't all that great; not bad but I could make them at home sort of deal and probably do better lol. Just my humble opinion. I feel similarly about In and Out Burger. I feel I can get a better burger elsewhere. Anyway...another fabulous episode!
Someday I will be able to reveal my mental disorders in casual conversation as gracefully as Michael Rosenbaum. And I laughed out loud when Billy and Dom started questioning whether they might have ADHD because I've been wondering that since episode 1. It makes for the best conversations if you don't mind freewheeling, stream of consciousness-style topic jumping, which clearly these two don't.
