They've been doing that with their own properties for a while. It's kind of like a defunct band playing their greatest hits with almost none of the original members on their third farewell tour.
Hahaha. I totally read that as if you weren't being sarcastic, nor seeing you were saying that as hasbro. Yeah, call me crazy, but I'd really be only interested in Belloq in their quintessential white suit and fedora. As elaborate as it is, the idea of only getting them in the ceremonial garb is on par with only getting Indy in the Arab garb.
@@Smiley-. - If there are "too many aholes" disparaging a product, the company should be asking themselves why that's happening and how they can move on it, instead of shutting their eyes and ears and pretending such criticism doesn't exist. Hasbro, as a whole, has been doing the exact same thing with their MTG lines -- putting out tone-deaf marketing and PR statements and only responding when the fanbase is in the process of melting down. Something tells me their marketing department has been gutted and these are the only PR reps left in the joint.
@@crazyrabbits I'm not talking about the criticism. I'm talking about the people posting derogatory things and death threats in the comments. It's one thing to criticize and it's another to send death threats and racist shit..
Impressive whip skills at the end. As for the pulse stream, looks like Hasbro's trying to lock down that 'Dumpster fire of the year' award really early this year.
Either that, or they think Indy 5 is going to be huge and want to get a head and ride the "Hype Train". So far them and KK at Lucas Films might be the only ones.
I love how they show ceremonial Beloq when they talk about their "new" additions to the vintage line. Not Napal Marrion, safari Beloq with the idol, or Satipo like the concept art just put the mail away on a card back like gohst Anikin Skywalker.
The incorrect bow tie and vest really peeved me for that Last Crusade Indy, as that outfit in the sewers is my favorite alternate Indy outfit. I wanted this line to be great. Coming from a die hard Indy fan.
Hasbro forgot fish, Hook, and draaaag it out. Short round in Wave one you Got to have Indy in wave 2. I’ll wait will all the waves get retail… that way if future waves get cancelled I don’t get screwed over… again.
@@stephenthomas1492 That's definitely what I'm picking up on, especially considering the lackluster assortment of characters in that first wave of six inch figures (as Michael so succinctly and eloquently pointed out).
Hasbro: "We know... let's release an "asp" figure... you know, from the Well of Souls scene. It can be just a generic rubber snake--but the fans will LOVE it!! Cuz, you know, asps--very dangerous! We're so clever and respectful to the fans aren't we?" *Hasbro pats itself on the back*
Their "Whip" with the party favor sound broke my laugh meter! 🤣 It made me cry laughing at the Hasblo Team. Even without the added party favor sound, it sounded just like a broken one unfurling. These Hasblo guys have no clue, and don't care to even try looking for one. Thanks again Michael!
Seems like now would be the perfect time to do a Short Round figure given that Ke Huy Quan is having a career resurgence right now. For Pete's sake, ride the pop culture moment you've been given.
Spot on as usual! I don’t get all wrapped up in this stuff usually, but damn. And excellent bull whip segment at the end. Michael and his spot on commentary is what keeps me coming to this channel. Well, that and nostalgia
Where's the goddamn Cairo Indy??? I was expecting an announcement for him either in 6-inch scale or retrofitted into the retro line.... Where's Ark Chase Indy with the gloved hands he uses almost through the entire film and an Arabian Horse?? Hell, I'd even settle for an Old Indy with a Crystal Skull!!
The whip at the end was worth the price of admission! Clearly Hasbro’s guys weren’t in the theater for any of the movies.. zero energy. Hasbro’s “whip” was either a Halloween reject or something that bald guy found in an adult book store 😂
That Hasbro video was hilarious, it felt like a half assed QVC video from 20 years ago! That toy "whip" is one of the most pathetic pieces of merchandise I've ever seen, what hell were they thinking?
The waifish homoculus gingerly flicking that toddler's toy at his bald manlet coworker immediately followed by Michael's whipwork gave me, well, whiplash.
I’m excited to at least get Indiana Jones himself, especially the Club Obi Wan version But I must agree they’re definitely for huge fans like me. I have a feeling I’ll be seeing quite a bit of this wave on the clearance shelf’s and sites within three months. Bravo on the whip skills!
I think Hasbro was asked to make merch by Disney for the new movie and they didn't really want to so they put a couple of the star wars guys on the line to put out some boring stuff so the line could fail and they could move on to stuff they think sells better
The problem is that Hasbro is no longer making toys for kids. My 5 year old is starving for good toys. He wants the LAAT, He wants classic GI Joe toys from the cartoon, he wants droid fighters, lots and lots of different clone troopers and storm troopers. They are really only making toys for the collectors. This is cutting their future lifeline as all the generations of little kids will have less and less nostalgia and will care less or not at all for collecting. It’s a doom loop plan for them.
Even the hardcore collectors aren’t gonna be interested in an inaccurate Professor Indy figure with odd accessories that he doesn’t really use in the film.
Hilarious... I love how you said exactly what everyone was thinking... and ending with a super bad ass whip cracking at the end! Keep up the great work Michael
😂😂😂😂 jeez!!! All that was missing from this burn was a “Yo Momma” joke! 😂😂 I thought it was a giant brown shrimp he was wrestling!!! Aw Michael thank you once again for some belly laughs!!! Needed that today!! Bravo sir 👏👌 New logo is fire too 👍
Kids these days needing toy whips. Back in my day when you wants to play Indiana Jones, you just went into Mom and Dad’s special closet and took a whip out of there!!
Guess the 1/18 Indy toys from 2008 will be the best we will get. Wonder what LEGO will give us. And Looks like half of the six inch line will just be Indy figures. I only need the iconic outfit. And those Ford face sculpts got some creepy eyes.
When I saw Hasbro announce the Indy range I was excited for two reasons. The first, as an Indy and OT Black Series fan I was excited to see how they would do the line. Secondly, I was looking forward see how they get round Lucas Film's/Disney's aversion to represent anything deemed inappropriate in the modern era, namely...... how are 2023 Hasbro going to do Nazis action figures. Seeing these reveals gives me a clue...... they're not! It looks like they are going to just release as many Indys, allies and none Nazis uniformed antagonists as they can. And you might as well forget seeing those racially questionable Thugee cultists too!
Michael, you critiqued this amazingly. For all the grief that's been tossed your way about anything, your film skills show up and it's hilarious watching clowns get shredded for such seemingly simple things as not looking at the camera. That alone, would've made this an epic video, but Hasbro livestreams are so far beneath your skillset, you hammered it with what you could. As an aside, even the new never before seen offerings aren't imaginative. Hasbro is stuck in the mud in all their lines, whether Kenner based, Marvel largely, or GI Joe. Especially their HasLab snoozers...always a pleasure to see your videos man
The little portions of comedy you've been adding to your videos over the years, just slays me. I laugh so hard at some of your jokes. Absolutely love your videos. Wishing you, yours and your channel all the best this year!
Your "That's a whip" line rivals some of the best comebacks I've seen on YT. Btwn this Indiana Jones travesty and the Hasbro OGL self-destruction of their own lines... it's like they're trying to fail. Bizarre
It’s so nice that I’ll be able to find most of the adventure series (including the exclusives) on clearance. I had some sticker shock at first but I guess I can count on most of the line ending up closer to $12.99
All I know is after watching your whip skills Mr. French, I now have more respect for you. That was flipping impressive. And that toy whip they made looks alot like the one from when Crystal Skull came out.
When that toy whip came out on that Pulse video, I just noped the hell out of any hope that this new line was being managed by anyone with even the common sense of a rock.
