To sum it all up and simplify it, Michael Schenker is a great guitarist, to me he is the best ( to each his own ), in this riff section he lays down what shapes he could for being on the spot and it sounds excellent, so be happy and enjoy the music of Michael Schenker ( The Maestro ).

PLEASE...That's why his entire solo has the same pattern throughout with no changeups. He just uses the same 3 fingers up and down the neck do limited solos. He why don't you email him and tell him it's ok to use his pinky on that fret board every now and then it makes some nice solos that aren't so 3 fingered repetitive.

You got that right buddy, Schenker is the man who invented this style of Hard rock, melodic textures ( feeling ), speed riffs for technique, pure heart and soul from the Maestro.

1 of my fav guitar player of all time. Amazing what he can do with playing with only 3 fingers. Shows you don't need to use all four fingers to be great.

Michael Schenker is playing the Heritage Theater in Campbell Ca., this is a mandatory attendance for all Schenker fans and all South Bay Schenker fans, lets welcome Michael back with a big warm welcome, this show should sell out, the Venue is excellent and the sound is fantastic, for all the young guitarist out there who want to see the real deal this is the guy to see, unmatched talent. Bring it on Maestro.

Ughh..the bashing of MS on this video link is ridiculous. All the great MS solo's were played to a creative chord progression he made up. Moreover, MS works on crafting his solos. Jamie basically didn't him crap to work with and it was on the fly. MS has delivered more than 30 years of legendary work, which is more than I can say for anyone else on this thread.

For me i prefer the Gibson years of Schenker that was the tone that got us all hooked....dean tone just isn't for the bluesy style of Schenker. .too deep. Too much roar. It is what it is

Saw him 5 times in the late seventies early eighties.. His bluesy metal style inspired me. Lots of colour in his style.

The main reason Schenker uses the three finger method is because he can, he's extremely accomplished using that method and its comfortable to him and there is no reduction in notes like someone stated, because he only uses three fingered lead sections, the guy does more then any guitarist known to man., also if my fingers were that lanky i would feel real confy playing all 3 fingered method too. Schenks the best FTR.

i started doing nearly everything with my pinky and it's really well trained, but now i play most licks without, because pinky will always stay a bit weaker and slower on certain things exspecially for close box pentatonik shred and if you do lot of quick bendings in your phrasing - like schenker does as well;

Fuckin " A " Right, if it weren't for Michael Schenker, Gibson wouldn't have sold as many flying V's as they did and to this day they are selling more V's than ever before because of Schenker, he's the Maestro, nobody can touch Mr. Virtuoso, Schenker's the best FTR. Can't wait for Michael to tour here again, having withdrawals.

Who the Hell is listening to Jamie. Mikes runs are KILL. Not just a bunch of notes at high speeds but he can still shred when called for. He playing is melodic and Beautiful but still KICKS ASS. Sounds like some people were not listening to Schenker but expecting song. Schenker is the best bar none. Noone can touch him.

Yeah Schenker's tone and technique are incredible, yes the man does know how to play, its just sad to see loser's making harsh/stupid comments about a phenomenal guitarist like Schenker. I would have to say they need to be schooled.

Don't over analyze what Schenker is doing in the video, he's simply laying down some riffs, there's not suppose to be a format like a boat load of guitarist conduct, he's playing from the soul all by feeling not scripted like all the other BS, Michael is a true Virtuoso, leave it @ that people, Schenks the best FTR.

If there is a problem with this improv it's the rhytym track that just plods on with no accentuation or variation or feeling. It's almost almost as if the dude thinks that this is "typical Schenker". Consider yourself lucky the cameraman kept on Schenker. Normally when Schenker is soloing the cameraman is on the singer taking a break, the bass player, the drummer, the crowd.

What string gauges is Michael using? Is that .09 top E? I notice he uses oscillating picking for some of his faster licks. Oscillating picking is hard to learn.

Wow, Schenker is doing all the Variations, he's trying not to make it so simple ( stuck in the box ), if humphries would have changed up the rythym a bit it could have been a better piece, well next time Rudolph Schenker will sit in then it will be a masterpiece, Rudy and Michael gonna sound great together again.

I can tell it's Michael in one note, it's those unmistakable distinctive bends and vibrato. The very first note Michael starts the lead with on this jam with is a great example I'd know it's Michael from that alone it's so obvious unless someone had their ears drawn on then it might take them oh say 5 notes or so. Lol.

Just because someone doesn't like a certain artist doesn't mean they are jealous. Have you ever heard the saying "Not my cup of tea". Don't people have a right to their own fucking opinion? Do we have to think all alike?. I'm not saying I don't like Schenker but I think your comment is completly asinine. Besides, giving out criticism doesn't make someone jealous. No one is perfect and any kind of criticism that helps you improve is always good. Stupid criticism is a waste of time that I agree.
