Michael, your content continues to be terrific! This one in particular grabs me, because I've been a lifelong fan of Abe Maslow. As a twenty-something idealist, I was once going on about my various theories of human behavior with a friend. She said it sounded like something from one of her college courses, and that she'd get me the book, which was Motivation and Personality, by Maslow. I was shocked to find my "street-level" formulations affirmed in the thoughts of a respected professional, and began reading everything by and about him. Many years later, you and I would be driving to Ernst Mayr's place to interview him, debating along the way about just how outspoken and confrontational atheists and skeptics ought to be. You've continued to produce a great magazine, and the podcasts are consistently great. It's clear now that there will never be a shortage of interesting material; the viewpoint of the skeptic & critical thinker remains vital. Now I've got to get Scott's book! Hadn't been aware of him before this.
Michael, I just love it when you say in the beginning of the podcast: "I'm your host... Michael Shermer..." :) Thanks for your splendid work! Best regards.
Michael thank you for your work, I found a BBC In Our Time on Sparta very informative, especially the last 6mins on the seeds of Nazism and why so many Germans was complicit (also interesting how some of our(UK) royalty have been educated. Have a great day.
Stressful is not being able to self quarentine in this mess. I would LOVE to have a couple of months to spend at home without other people invading my personal space!
Great talk. But Prof S. - you have to not fall in with a bad crowd: Deepak Chopra is the very definition of "bad crowd". Make Kaufman your new friend, dump the 'pak. Great podcast today, thx. Even in normal times I never miss your show. D.A., J.D., NYC (the HOT ZONE!)
