It was the students' loss for not being able to see you speak, Michael. Such a powerful message!

Michael….I heard this on CNN this morning and gave it another listen. Pitch Perfect. Thank you! Still hoping that you will give the whole speech (I think you said it was about 14 minutes on your morning RU-vid that I also watch). Is there anyone else who wants to hear the full speech? 🤔

Michael, I'm a regular listener of your show on eh-eh-eh. I was shocked and frustrated by Dickinson's decision. I believe you have taken the high road (as always) in your public reaction as well as your response. Any of your listeners know how off base those students were about you. And the school should've definitely handled it better. Please know that there are many of us out here who are thankful for work you do on a daily basis. As long as you continue to be the person you are, your reputation will never be tarnished in our eyes! Also, I bought tickets the day they went on sale for your event on Long Island!! My dad and I look forward to seeing you on stage in Northport!

Excellent speech,Michael! You touched on some great points. As a long-time, and current educator, I see the consistent ease at which talking has been a forgotten skill. I won’t blame others. Instead we all have to provide guidance that isn’t a quick fix, but instead grounded in respect, trust, authenticity, and the benefits involved.

mike that would have been a fantastic speach to have been given anywhere in the usa, probably in canada and western europe too.

I hope all the students have Dickinson college have the opportunity to hear this. And especially the protesters. I think they’re going to figure out what they got it wrong, got you wrong. and if they don’t think they got it wrong, they have a lot to learn yet.

In light of the most recent Supreme Court rulings you believe "our core values" are aligned?🤔

In some way we have made it to a point, not the destination. We are disengaging in a way, as if an attempt to connect with self rather than with others. It isn't that we're disconnecting; COVID, if at all a lesson learned has taught us distancing ourselves is nothing to fear, to an extent we are fear itself to one another and know we're not. Honesty is a discipline; but as well a word one shouldn't have to mention they're being. Conversation seems to be why we might like to disengage from some relationships despite the emotional consequence. My apologies in closing comment sentence for what I just heard. Yesterday was mother's day, I'm not so family oriented, sorry of me to feel this way. I developed some form of apathy.

I know you would have said it more softly, but maybe it was a good idea you ended up not making that speech. Civics is a great topic but your approach wouldn't have worked. The students would have listened to you. I mean no disrespect to you because I agree with much of what you said.

As usual Michael will make the most of this to feed his huge ego. Like Trump he always needs to come out on top and thinks he’s never wrong. Accordingly he will use this incessantly again and again, mark my words.

Would be interested in hearing more specifics with respect to why you feel this way. I presume the book in question is Flying Blind and, while I haven't read it, banning it or the author who wrote it seems to be the point that both he and Bill Mahr are trying to make when they talk about people coming - or not - together. And to compare Trump to Smerconish seems way off base. The latter is well researched and informed and, while you might not always agree with his (or anyone's, of course) opinion, there's no denying his preparation and insight. And I never got the impression he has a huge ego. But, then again, I do not know the man personally, I'm not extreme left by any means, but I am certainly left of center, and I highly respect Michael Smerconish.
