Eccomi a voi, miei prodi 00:00 Quanto a quest'alma amante 08:34 Questo amplesso, a te fia pegno 13:36 Michael Spyres - Rodrigo Salome Jicia - Elena Marko Mimica - Duglas Varduhi Amrahamyan - Malcolm Michele Mariotti conductor Damiano Michieletto director ROF Pesaro, August 2016.
0:40 When you routinely sing down to C2 and up to E/F5 in full voice I guess the C5 to Ab2 run doesn't seem quite so scary anymore lol... "This is ok, but it could be more interesting. How about a D5, a G2, and (in all his other versions) an F2 as well" - this nutcase 😆
Well, it kinda is for him. When your full voice range is C2-F5, suddenly Ab2-C5 doesn't seem so bad....😆 Its absolutely hilarious compared to his fellow "Tenors". JDF can barely sing a C3 over a soft violin section. Brownlee and Matteuzzi are probably the closest recent singers, both can sing the F5, and both have sung fairly strong A2s. Its just insane. Actually speaking of, this is the only time Ive heard him sing eccomi without dropping the F3 at the end down an octave, weird).
Bien formulé! beaucoup de puristes poussent des hauts cris à cause de ce "trash" mais lorsque les interprétations sont à la hauteur ( et Spyres est vraiment hors normes) j' applaudis!
I was there. It was one of the best things I ever saw and heard. The production may seem "trash" for anyone who hasn't ssen it in full and is completely unable to grasp the meanings. It was a complete union of music and drama and absolutely everything made sense in that production, where there was nothing against the music or it's emotions.
Um, wow. I encourage everyone here to listen to the other recordings of Eccomi especially. No one else is as consistent across that entire C5-Ab2 run as Spyres is, and its not even especially close. Kunde and John Irvin are ok, but most all ive heard have either extremely thin C5s or basically inaudible...anything below D3ish, really
Of course I have, this recording was not broadcast anywhere and it was only released on DVD a couple of months ago, there are no other sources of the video except DVD.
