AeroNevin Sadly, talented artists like Michelle are swept away by the newest hot act. Also, it didn’t help that her record label stopped letting her release music after The Wreckers album
oh I can answer that one it's simple because the view counters broken with the number of times I play this song on loop it should be higher then 2.5 million views from me alone let alone anyone else doing the same as me
I don't know why Michelle isn't more famous she's brilliant. Her first two albums are timeless. I don't even listen to this type of music but I love hers.
Dude me either im a huge metal head and rocker I love my share of blues too but this music is just as timeless for me cause I was born in the early 90s
Lyrics: I wanted to be like you I wanted everything So I tried to be like you And I got swept away I didn't know that it was so cold And you needed someone To show you the way So I took your hand and we figured out That when the tide comes I'd take you away If you want to I can save you I can take you away from here So lonely inside So busy out there And all you wanted Was somebody who cares I'm sinking slowly So hurry hold me Your hand is all I have to keep me hanging on Please can you tell me So I can finally see Where you go when you're gone If you want to I can save you I can take you away from here So lonely inside So busy out there And all you wanted Was somebody who cares All you wanted was somebody who cares If you need me you know I'll be there Oh, yeah If you want to I can save you I can take you away from here So lonely inside So busy out there And all you wanted Was somebody who cares Please can you tell me So I can finally see Where you go when you're goneLyrics: I wanted to be like you I wanted everything So I tried to be like you And I got swept away I didn't know that it was so cold And you needed someone To show you the way So I took your hand and we figured out That when the tide comes I'd take you away If you want to I can save you I can take you away from here So lonely inside So busy out there And all you wanted Was somebody who cares I'm sinking slowly So hurry hold me Your hand is all I have to keep me hanging on Please can you tell me So I can finally see Where you go when you're gone If you want to I can save you I can take you away from here So lonely inside So busy out there And all you wanted Was somebody who cares All you wanted was somebody who cares If you need me you know I'll be there Oh, yeah If you want to I can save you I can take you away from here So lonely inside So busy out there And all you wanted Was somebody who cares Please can you tell me So I can finally see Where you go when you're gone
ThisIsTheMusicTV It makes me sad because it makes me think back to my younger years, when this song was first released & I often wonder where did the time ago? I wish I was young again...
I never tire of this song by Michelle Branch. Somehow, it remains vibrant, and seems just as relevant now as when she first sang the song. "All You Wanted" is uplifting without being bombastic, in terms of both vocals and instrumentals. Even the video is genuinely fun to watch because the camera crew, director, and editor took the effort make the quality of the video reflect the quality of the music. Nothing about it seems thrown carelessly together, but instead quite natural and dynamic.
Simplicity can have it's own appeal when appropriately suitable for the context at hand. Michelle Branch's chief appeal (at this here) is 'the girl next door.'
I hear this every day at a grocery store that I work at. How in the world is this not at 1 million + views? She's more talented than 90 percent of the pop singers today, no doubt.
Zach Breeden Sadly, the world has moved on from Michelle’s era of pop music. It’s all about Ariana Grande, Cardi B, Taylor Swift to some extent. Michelle is as talented as she is beautiful. She’s a fantastic song writer and performer and she deserves to have a bigger presence in music back then and now.
There is another copy of video with millions of views at Warner records. People listen to trash music of today because they don't know great oldies music like this one exists. Spread it!
@@davestang5454 It is a special talent. Anyone can write anything and call it whatever that want. Writing pieces that have the ability to pull other people in, to stir up emotions and create meaning and purpose in the lives of complete strangers-- that is a talent and a gift that not _everyone_ is capable of or has. And that’s what makes a great song by a great artist all the more special upon realizing the artist is not only performing the song, but also wrote the song. And for the record, a good majority of mainstream artists over the course of the music industries entire existence _did_ _not_ _write_ the songs the songs they sang and performed. Song writers in the music industry are highly regarded, highly respected and are sought after by agents, record labels, managers and artists themselves. To dismiss the role and the existence of that role is more than silly, it’s ridiculous. And by suggesting that performers and music artists writing their own songs is common and nothing special is to suggest that songwriters are not the major factor of the music industry that they are. There are many artists whom after becoming successful attempt to become more involved in the song writing aspect of their music, in which case they’ll throw some ideas out, write some lyrics down and receive guidance, help, inspiration and ideas from professional songwriters, upon completion you’ll see their names along with the other songwriters that penned the lyrics given credits in the album details. Similar to actors and actresses deciding to try their hands at producing after years of acting and success, look at hit tv shows, you’ll almost always find that after a few years and few seasons of success a few of the main stars of the show are credited with parts of production. That’s not to say that every actor and actress knows how to produce their own films and shows. That would be absolutely ridiculous and ignorant to suggest.
lyrics [Verse 1] I wanted to be like you I wanted everything So I tried to be like you And I got swept away I didn't know that it was so cold And you needed someone to show you the way So I took your hand and we figured out that When the tide comes, I'd take you away [Chorus] If you want to I can save you I can take you away from here So lonely inside So busy out there And all you wanted was somebody who cares [Verse 2] I'm sinking slowly So hurry, hold me Your hand is all I have to keep me hanging on Please, can you tell me? So I can finally see Where you go when you're gone [Chorus] If you want to I can save you I can take you away from here So lonely inside So busy out there And all you wanted was somebody who cares [Bridge] All you wanted was somebody who cares If you need me, you know I'll be there Oh-oh, whoa, yeah [Chorus] If you want to I can save you I can take you away from here (I can take you away) So lonely inside So busy out there And all you wanted was somebody who cares Oh, whoa (And all you wanted was somebody who cares) Oh, oh, oh, oh If you want to (If you want to) I can save you (Oh) I can take you away from here (I can take you away) So lonely inside So busy out there And all you wanted was somebody who cares [Outro] Please, can you tell me? So I can finally see Where you go when you're gone
This song reminds me of my first two years in high school. Struggling with my introversion, feeling alone in the crowd, first loves and disappointments, fighting constant battles with my homosexuality, my parents, standing up from all the bullying... Tears of joy and pain. I usted to listen to this song a thousand times per day while looking through the rain soaked windscreen of the bus, trying to find the place for my figure in life's board game. Now it makes me relive all these memories and I realize how much I've changed, but also I am still the same.
Her voice and lyrics transcend, she should keep singing to fill our hearts with emotions just like she did with these songs. 2019 and still feeling the same !!!
I am. I sincerely live Michelle Branch. She's a super talented artist, wears her hear on her sleeve. She's an angel human born. She has a beautiful voice, a good soul, a genuine person. She's also stunningly beautiful. I missed out on the coolest person ever. XOXO ❤💔❤️🩹💖💘🌹🌹🌹
She looked cocky and confident back then. Full of energy. Wrote many jaw-dropping songs. She was really famous back then. Ppl think she was underrated bcuz there were no RU-vid, Facebook or Spotify.
Or Tik Tok or Instagram in 2001-2002. Back in the early 2000's MTV and VH1 would have aired her songs. Parts of this is that Michelle Branches fan base are 34-41. Note I am 35 and happened to hear her at her height. Her fanbase would have been in High School or College or in the military at the time of the release.
@Cabalen RandersI totally agree! It happens every decade within those mid years ...then towards the 9th-10th yrs (2029- 2030) a new sound is produced for to influence the following decade (1st- 4th yrs : 2030- 2034)
@Cabalen Randers ahhh...I've heard a couple of their tracks not their whole catalog and there are a few retro sounding tracks like "somebody else" and "the sound" that gives you that 80s feel
@@mauriousb. Well John Mayer who was in his rookie year in the early 2000's when this song came is kicking off the "early 1990's sound" in his recent song called "Last Train Home". That song sounds older than when John Mayer came out with his first album in 2001.
Interestingly John Mayer is kicking off 1990's music for his album Sob Rock. What's crazy is that he made his songs look like the early 1990's and this decade is ripe for a kickoff right now. Yes it's amazing that some of the people I listened to back in the 2000's as a teen I now have a second stint as a fan. I was a fan of Michelle Branch previously from 2001-2005. Also I was a fan of John Mayer previously from 2001-2005 too. Lost track of these people for some time though but damn 20 years later they are legends.
Another Michelle Branch song that evokes the same powerful feelings of longing, regret, and reminiscence. Oh, how much I would love to return to the late 90s. There are many things I would do differently. I wish I asked out the girl sitting behind me in my Spanish class. Nostalgia and regret hurts like a B word.
Listening to this song again after 10years, and now taking me 1month listening to this over and over again. This is over all my most Favorite song of Michelle Branch.
15+ years late on this one... Wow ! Remember it from a very difficult time in my life and rediscovering it has brought back all the emotions. What a great tune from so many aspects, esp. vocals.
Lol Michelle Branch is an inspiration to any pop punk, pop rock, or country singers as well. So all musicians and singers are talented. All singers may have struggles, but to learn they have to follow Michelle's path but on their own correct true way which is by exploring genres/themselves and how to song write lyrics with a good leveraging approach strategy that could different to Michelle or identical or just combine both
I'm 33 now and when listening to this song it somehow takes me back on memory lane when I would always would listening to this song in my teen years!!!...😊💌💌💌
Hi Michelle! Great to see you have a RU-vid presence. Loved your music ever since I saw "All You Wanted" when it was first released. Now I know that my views of your music videos will directly benefit you! Looking forward more new and classic tunes from you!
Damn, I recall having a 5-Disc player and for 5 years, this was the only album I never swapped out. I listened to it nearly once a week. Easily one of my top 5 favorite albums.
