I was late to the party in regards to Downton, but now that I've finished watching all of the episodes ( wanting more ), I've realized that it ended at the right time. It didn't over stay it's welcome. Michelle, like almost all of the cast were perfect in their roles. BRAVO!!!

I made some changes to my idea. Downton Abbey-2, 1929-1940 The Depression years. Downton Abbey-3 The WW-2 years. Downton Abbey-4 The Resurrection of Britain; 1950s-1960s. Downton Abbey-5; The working class takes charge, the AIDS Crisis and the IRA, 1970s-1990s. Downton Abbey-6; The Era of Terror, 1990 to Present day.

The reason why they can make a Downton Abbey this long is because we have at least one Soap Opera that lasted approx 5 decades, so why not a series.

The older actors can (start) to die off after every series part and could be replaced by the younger actors that would then be older and also some new actors added such as their children.
