I did family law back in the day and we represented a woman in a cult (The Remnant) whose 2 year old daughter was taken away from her. At that time there were 875 active cults in the US my religious expert advised. It was an interesting case to be involved in but we lost. We weren't surprised ❤
@@pocasanchez dad never returned her after one of his visits. He was a previous member of the cult and he did not want his daughter growing up in it. After a 3 day hearing the judge gave dad sole custody with mom having only supervised visits. It was a hard case because the cult leader was a creep but mom was a good mom. We presented the best case possible but knew that it was tough going. This was decades ago BTW.
@@HeyokaGirlSpeaks wow, thanks for responding! The mother wanted to stay in the cult? Did she fully understand she was in one? What did the judge have to say about the cult?
Very true. And the opposite is ALSO true: humans also save lives, help, heal and protect other humans, even animals. Since both side are equally true, we can all decided which one we want to focus on...
Being Mormon wasn't as bad as this, but still, I'm feeling something ptsd-esque about my mormon days while listening to this. I'm so glad I got out, and I'm so happy for all the people that escape their unhealthy brainwashing.
This all goes back to the orphans of the late 1800/early 1900’s that were educated by the weird organizations like The Oddfellows. All men as well. Free mason etc had a huge hand in training these orphans. A lot of them went in to be very successful and influential
Homer accidentally joined the Stone-Cutters (Masons) because Grandpa ABRAHAM happened to be a lifetime member. Abe also happened to be the leader of Ghey and Lez society...for some reason he couldnt comprehend.
University of Minnesota Spankological Survey.... One of the best Comedic lines by Ned's Beatnik parents: "We've tried NOTHING, and we're all out of ideas"😂
It *IS* on a level of billions. Beliefs trump (lol) science. Personal biases supercede logic, compassion, honor, justice, etc. Overall, humanity in and of itself IS one gigantic cult. Outliers are mocked, blocked, tr011ed, cajoled, censored, and... lol... "excommunicated". 💪😎✌️ Stay classy, humanity.
Sounds like it could have been a branch of Seventh Day-Adventism. There were many branches that came out of that Millerite Movement in the 1840s. Branch Davidian (Waco) was one.
@@user-gt5wl3uz9c You’re deluded, and jaded. What do you look like? How old are you? She has crow’s feet, wrinkles on her forehead, under-eye bags, etc. just like Joe. They look roughly about the same age. She might be older.
I lived in S. Cal for 4 years in the '90s. You would be surprised how religious a LOT of people are there. There are Baptist churches (many are huge), and others, all over the place and I heard about strange cults.
I had a class on cults in Seminary at Biola University: I have papers on many of the cults but I don't remember if anyone in class wrote on this cult; because they obviously were secretive.
@@davidjanbaz7728 I knew someone that went to some "program' to be a "Baptist" pastor of when he was young. They did tent revivals in the Midwest. He told me it was all a scam. His conscience finally made him stop.. Pretty despicable to take of advantage of people seeking faith like that.
@@charliebadthey're all cults in their own way. Tent revivals though are not catholic, they're famously scams, with those guys who claim to be healers.
Wow being been born in a cult must be a hell of a experience but they might learn too be adapting too society but its indotricate just young kids is just crazy.
Joe: "Male only org, how strange" Um... Catholic Priests anybody? Scouts... choir boys... level of success seems to be the main difference between "religion" and "cult" lol
Catholicism, imo, is cult like, but there are differences between religions and cults. That being, the goal/purposes of that collection of people. Cults are groups of people that are joined to strive towards a common goal. The knowledge of the devotion is also usually hidden, or only shared between the inner circles of the group. Religions are groups who beliefs are not hidden, and are also known to worship a supernatural entity/entities.
Dang. What a horror story. The bass note of all Religion is cruelty. The opposite of spirituality the opposite of the Creator. The opposite of freedom.
A good book about freaky stuff in early Pasadena, in the 40s. check out Strange Angel by George Pendle. Sex, drugs, rockets, JPL, L Ron Hubbard, Alistair Crowley. A great read.
so, if the cult still exist, so many children still being abused right now... and interesting about the young girl who are/were abused aren't being prosecuted
@@Princesss855They never said that merely adding the fact that Islam unbanned coffee, don't be so rude. It's interesting as they're both satanic cults trying to lead people from the truth of Christ.
Was Jesus involved in this cult? Calvinism that lasted into that time was a splintered group from the 1800's. Calvinists were pretty crazy folks. The root of that cult she belonged to has its roots in Calvinism from the 1800's. If they talked a lot of Old Testament stuff, that is sure sign that it was an old form of Calvinism. Her Great Great Grandparents could have been in and were Calvinist, but after the war these groups became splintered and on their own migrating west. Some went north. She mentioned they spoke a quote about St. Paul the Apostle. So this was Christianity, but not Protestant or Catholic. It was Calvinism, which has its roots in the 1560's Europe during the reformation years. It was already splintering then. So by the time it got here it was watered down a bit. These are interesting histories. I could make a movie about her roots. It would be fun too.
