I can't help but feel sorry for Michelle. She may have won the competition and got a recording contract, but she wasn't really looked after or well supported by her record label. Either she wasn't pop star material or she didn't get the freedom to express herself as the artist she wanted to be 🙁 I heard she's doing well now. She's lost weight, she's married and she's still in show business so that still makes her a winner in her own right 🙂

There's more to success than chart stuff tho.. Gareth, Will and Darius all did well in music and the boy Michelle beat in the final went on to have a great career in tv

Sam and Mark didn't do well with their singing careers, but found work as TV presenters, and are rather good TV presenters if I do say so myself. Even though Pop Idol will probably never come back (on British TV that is), I still value it as nostalgic.
This is such a beautiful song and I do wonder who's still listening to it in October 2017. I remember vividly that I did picked up the phone and vote for her a few times well. I was one of her biggest supporter up till today. This lady have such a lovely voice and it's such shame she didn't get the chance to release more songs but unfortunately she was casted aside by producers simple becuase of her weight but am happy she's now married and moving on with her life.
She's a TV presenter in Scotland for STV, and still sings for gigs. This is for all the ignorant childish adults who condemn her for her weight, and say that she has faded.

I loved this song. I hate reality rubbish cheap tv. Michelle was a "real" woman, with a great voice. It was suggested at the time during the programme that she would never make it because of her "image"........ yeah, but people with no talent can, those who cannot write or sing can make it because they "look good".. or whatever record companies and talent free zones like Cowell tell us is what we are allowed to listen to. Grateful I grew up with the huge variety of music which was available to us in the 70s. I only wish kids today had a real chance to show how talented they can be too.

Am back here again in August 2020 still visiting memory lane. I can't get enough of this lovely lady singing such a beautiful song. Those were some good old days with good memories.
What a voice she has. Why are some more concerned about her appearance than her voice. I don't get it. Some of the great voices in music have come from plus size women such as Adele, Aretha Franklin, and Mama Cass. Michele has the capablitly to be in the group. Listen with your ears and enjoy.
