It's all about the money! The same thing happened to my mother. Prisoners have more rights then someone under guardianship.

This crime of guardianship is no different from being kidnapped and robbed. Every judge, lawyer , doctor and guardian involved should be investigated, arrested, charged and incarcerated.

Pray that you or a loved one never have an accident that leaves you with a disability. Because you could end up in a Guardianship especially if you have a settlement case pending. Now they target you before you leave the hospital.

My 83 year old mother was a victim of fraud. 4 of her lawyers destroyed 2 wills because I was sole executor and powers of attorney for care and finances. My mother's doctor targeted and medicated with many narcotics and had her documents changed. She died 3 months later weighing only 81 pounds and had a infected bedsore. The Cardinal Funeral home directors attempted to rob $12,000.00 for service but my mother had prepaid almost 7 years earlier. The funeral home staff conspired with Mark Ross lawyers and Victoria Chiappetta judge who is associated with the probate court to remove me as executor. Laurence Pattillo judge at the probate court illegally seized the estate and appointed a court appointed trustee who now claims there is no will. She is in control of the assests and has removed money from the account and has refused to settle the estate. Her name is Angelique Moss. I have documentation of her attempting to get money from the accounts without a probate certificate. She sold the house without the probate certificate.

Medicate, isolate and steal the estate.

my partner was taken into guardianship without any legal representation for him. I understand if someone is taken advantage of but the guardianship system needs to be reviewed. the state should not be allowed to just take over.

This kind of thing happens to mentally ill adults under guardianship as well. Many cases are milder than they are made out to be but it's more lucrative to keep them under a constrictive guardianship in the long term or indefinitely

this is happening to my grandmother the whole system just feeds off of her Im a nurse and cannot get any medical info I dont even know why she is now on “hospice”

He and several others have been removed by the attorney general.My experience is these public administrators bill through the nose while neglecting their obligations under the law. They have one goal: generate billable hours, even though they hire themselves, which is an inherent conflict of interest which judges ignore. Oakland needs new a new probate court bench, but who knows whom they are voting for if they even make it that far down the ballot. The legislature is attempting to remedy this but the current judges and public administrators oppose reform, even though they know the system is broken, because they are the ones who broke it.

Who charges an "incapacitated" elderly $245 per hr of time, $10 per voice-mail (incoming!) $49 per FAX and $120 to forward mail all while holding them hostage in a facility against their will? Imagine watching all your savings go down the drain from a shelter jail, all because you had issues making financial decisions.. isn't that what lawyer and accountant are for? Since when did a mentally sane person need a "gaurdian" 30 yrs there junior, robbing them blind. How come when someone controls there partner its abuse but this is legal an okay.. The need to recreate the program with more respect for the people, instead of making decisions for them they should work closely with them like advisers, help them make the best decisions and let them spend there own money, even if they have to monitor it. Give them their dignity back

i was doing some temp work housekeeping at an old folks home and it was totally like a prison there were tons of people there who were state property or had a guardian, it was a nice enough place, but they just have a tiny little apartment, and a dining room, and then like a rec room. those poor people. there was even a floor for people with alzheimers or however you spell it and it was a locked down floor the patients weren't allowed out i got in huge trouble for letting on escape by accident

Looks like you are not the only person fighting that battle. There is power in a group. You all need to get together and start flexing that power. Ther may not be an immediate change but it will come.

We're all going to be old soon the true question is these Guardians don't realize that the same crap could happen to them

I was always suspicious on the real reason why people should not only have Gaurdians. but even I have Gaurdian problems too.

Lawyer Frasier's bills look normal to me. Siblings have no comment so maybe they agree with judge and lawyer. Sibling rivalry is a big issue here. One sibling is doing all the work while the other siblings would rather the judge make the decisions.

It’s supposed to be very lucrative. Someone gets guardianship powers and empties their estate. That really should be up to family

1692 in Salem, Massachusetts 200 people we accused of witchcraft, several were found guilty and hung. I’m sure all were separated from their wealth. I’ve never seen a witch and don’t believe in witchcraft but I’ve seen wealthy widows and greedy lawyers. After my fathers death family members had my mother declared incompetent (dementia) and a ward of the State of Nebraska. Pinnacle Bank was named Conservator and their predatory attorneys began attacking family members. After just three months attorneys fees had climbed to $175,000.00. I spent $200,000.00 my brother $100,000.00 and forced their removal because they failed to purchase insurance and a tornado destroyed my mothers farm. Stay out of court, these judges will bankrupt you and steal all of your family’s wealth.

Perhaps one reason it pays to be poor. Guardianships are like black holes. Once you get sucked in there's no escape.

This is a criminal enterprise that does nothing but drains the wealth of victims who were given NO say. The families would be better dealing with the issues because at least they are getting benefit of the funds. This woman might be forgetful, but that is not reason to take her life management away, she just needs someone to give her spot relief. Wonder if the passing of that bill actually did anything.

The best thing to do is to become your own gaurdian. there are preachers visiting jail cells. why not Group Homes and so called care homes ?

Sadly, this organization has folded. I assume it was underfunded, and I believe it was run by Dr. Sam Sugar, who put a lot of effort into it for no return.
