As a Penn St fan who usually supports any B10 team in the playoffs, I wasn’t thrilled to root for Bama but I wasn’t a fan of the entire scandal surrounding Michigan’s program and for me, it always left a shadow of doubt over whether they benefitted from illegal sign stealing operation or not. Well tonight, the wolverines certainly put all the doubts to rest. This was an all out trench warfare and UMs oline and Dline dominated Bama. Michigan certainly played like the No 1 team in the country. Congratulations to the wolverine fanbase.
Nice. But UM's win over PSU, weeks after the sign-stealing allegations broke, and with Harbaugh suspended when UM's plane was already in the air to the game, should have put the doubts to rest earlier.
You should always support any Big 10 team in the playoffs because Michigan just gave you millions of dollars and millions more playing in the national title game. Your doubts about the bs sign stealing should have ended when Michigan beat your team AT happy valley WITHOUT Harbaugh. @@bruceching4078 Not really. Penn state played incredibly unimaginative football on the offensive side and if anything that victory reflected more poorly on Penn State’s offense than anything else. That UM team that day did not look like a championship team. Surely better than Penn State but not a national title contender.

I think this is the year that the trajectory of the SEC reverses. Next year's playoffs will not be the SEC party like many in the south thought. Washing is thoroughly dominating Texas as I type this. There are rumors that Saban is quitting after today. Luke Fickell is a great coach who is ascending.
I am an SEC fan (LSU), the new BIG10 with UW, Oregon and to 2 Cali schools coming in will be able to match the SEC. Anybody from the SEC saying otherwise is being a homer.

That's very accurate. It usually takes about 3-4 years for recruiting cycles to show whether they are on an up slope or down. It's been very clear that bama has been paying players for years and other sec teams as well. It's been a known fact out here in the big ten that when Saban was coach at Michigan state, he wanted to start buying guys and the university told him "no." Sure enough he left for lsu and 3rd year in he wins the natty and leaves for the nfl where he was a very mediocre coach with a losing record over 2 seasons. Then back to bama he wins his 3rd year and we all know the rest. He's been cheating his whole time. Why you think he was so against the NIL? It took away his cheating.

Osborne was retiring, so he got a "thanks for everything" vote. Michigan had the toughest schedule in the country that year and deserved to win it outright.
