The interviewer is Brian Lamb. He is an Executive Chair for C-SPAN with 5,307 videos in the C-SPAN Video Library. I believe that he is a master of his profession as Dr. Kaku is in physics . He asks just the minimum required to let Dr. Kaku shine, which is the purpose here. This is a different format than a "talk show". A thousand years from now, people will look back at this interview with awe. How could they not?
JM thank God... for we are made of space dust and the Bible said that thousands of years before 21st century science even came to be and went into your ears
There are a few. Most are very controlling and have an average IQ and are not particularly invested in either the subject matter nor making the topic attractive
A lot of people here think the interviewer was uncharismatic, dull and short. My view is that he was straight to the point and avoiding the popularity contest, in order for Michio Kaku to shine. Nowadays every interviewer wants to steal the limelight and be the star of the show. This interviewer asked interesting questions and didn't interrupt. I say good on him!
@@ssing7113 Good interviewing is about extracting information. In some cases this involves ie being charming in order to let a politician say something he/she didn't really want to say. Sometimes it's about interrupting when an interviewee is waffling on and on. Sometimes is's about being hard on confronting. Whatever the method, the aim is to get information. Michio Kaku doesn't need correcting, interrogating or being kept to the point. All he needs is some space to explain himself. He is a dog that doesn't need to be on a lead and the interviewer gives him free rein by playing the role of a 'grumpy Winston Churchill'. It's a tailor made act and it delivers the goods.
Thank God this man sustained his unique orientation and passion despite the school system trying to drill it out of him. He is so likable and just a gem.
Excellent interviewer. Clear, succinct, and direct questioning. Just guides the conversation without intruding or taking any shine away from the interviewee.
You are right. I didn't know he was 71, my guess would have been in his 50s maybe early 60s. If he could live to be 100 I'd be ok with that. Maybe even 120... 😁😉
good questions from interviewer, great answers, Kaku is not only an expert in physics but also is very well aware of political ramifications of physics, political environment that physics had to evolve in, financing of scientific projects, and general human affairs. Kaku links physics to the rest of the world
Actually, Brian Lamb is the perfect interviewer. He doesn't make it about HIM. He's just there to ask questions. Correctly, he's not trying to be Tom Snyder.
His face tho... Every time the camara looks at him, his face says this sum bitch is to damn smart for me. Lol now that's a joke but it could almost be true. 😂
The interviewer is doing a great job indeed. It's all about mr Kaku, he throws the questions and mr Kaku can answer without worrying about being interrupted. This is how it should be done.
It’s been a long time since I first saw him on RU-vid and I still remember I was so fascinated by the way he speaks and how he make the listener interested
Michio Kaku can talk all day and end up saying absolutely nothing about "everything." Simply amazing. But, I am convinced that Michio Kaku must be part of the IMMORAL LEFT. Ergo, Michio Kaku is clearly expendable.
I liked this Q&A actually. And to be fair, the interviewer started off by saying "I'm going to ask you a lot of questions geared towards us.. (basic folk)"
The Exoplanets Channel says , " He is brilliant ." Well ! Is He aware, the machanism of GAS BONDING is the cause of all downward falling motion, and not the mythical gravity . It's only grade school science ! This ! He should've brilliantly known . All downward falling motion, including Newtons apple ! Begins when rising gas molecules become trapped gas molecules, known as gas bonding, which take on a state of solid mass, blocking out its electrons motion, it's fire power, thus become energy lock lifeless gas molecules, and falls downward in real time, following its electrons unlimited potential velocity, at the speed of light, connecting with the earth energy conservation system, establishing a downward falling path, for trapped lifeless gas molecules/solid objects only. Equating the above fact, with the physical universe, same as Einstein E = MC2 equates with the physical universe. E = ENERGY = MM = MOLECULE MOTION = Molecules in motion within star flames earth gases birds and balloons plains and rockets, even us humans rise from molecules in motion, creating an energy flow, the ruling force of the universe. M = MASS = GB = GAS BONDING = Gas Bonding take on a state of solid mass, blocking out it's electrons motion, it's fire power, thus becomes ENERGY LOCK lifeless gas molecules, and falls downward in real time. C2 = LIGHT SPEED = E = ELECTRONS = Electrons Unlimited Potential Velocity, at the speed of light, connects with the earth energy conservation system, establishing a downward falling path, for trapped lifeless gas molecules/solid objects only. Gravity is a mythical concept that's mentally applied, with guaranteed result to it's point of origin ,the BRAIN !
This Man is the Man of Physics! It's funny, Brian asks "What do Physicists do in their spare time?" He couldn't get away from anything of physics. He even described ice skating in a language using physics. Such a brilliant Man.
20:50 I love how he never looks down on the littlest of things that helped him get through - much like Kevin O'Leary does with his bazillion jobs he has - he always brings up a memory or skill. Pretty awesome!
Most modern physicist are stuck up and explain things in a way that no one could ever understand. Michio knows how to explain things so that everyone can understand these great things.
I remember when I was was a child. I read the book "The Lost World" by Michael Crichton. In this book, there was a discussion about extinction and I wanted to continue that discussion and learn more about the subject. It turned out the subject matter was WAY too advanced for my school library. The answers I was looking for were not there and the teachers couldn't help. I had a time crunch and resorted to writing a report on a specific Dinosaur. Another issue the Education system has is the compacity for new and cutting edge recourses early in education. This happened many times while getting an education. What I wanted to know was not possible.
He's brilliant; and, I would be so humbled in his presence. I've loved astronomy since the 8th grade: over 50 years. I should of been an astronomer or theoretical physicist....I loved Sagan. He's today's Sagan. He explains physics in a beautiful way making it a lovely thing. He's spawning future brilliant minds and molding them into his 'progeny'. Thank goodness.
what a man having a brilliant mind, at the age of 71 oh my god your one of a kind prof. kaku. you're such an icon, a son of physics. I pray that god will give you a good health and long life god bless you more. your one of a kind...
I have always loved this most intelligent physicist. He teaches, speaks about what he knows in such a way that even the most simpler minds, such as mine, can fully understand .Not only that, but he, Stephen Hawkins, going all the way back to Einstein got me initially interested in something my teachers in US high schools told me to not bother with, since these areas weren't for me, ( as a female, as a so called l"learning disabled, lol,) I believed them & gave up. Now, as a grandmother, I have gotten 2 of my grand children very involved in these areas..sciences, biology, physics, etc. Thank you!
I'd like to be around long enough when we find evidence of microbial life (and we will sooner rather than later) and listen to what Kaku and DeGrasse-Tyson have to say. Can you imagine?
He is an example of someone continuously learning with much curiosity and understanding which keeps his mind young and sharp. On top of being a straight up genius, how he explains things in Layman's terms breaks it down for the average guy.
Kaku is an amazing captivating person. He makes you feel very smart while listening to him. He fluid speaking makes him perfect to reach out to people “There’s no law stealing from an extraterrestrial “. Hahhahahahahaha. That’s his idea if we encounter this dilemma. Hahahahaha
Pl. answer the following question in a simple way. When a physical molecule travels thru space which answer best describes its motion. 1. As the molecule moves thru space, ambient space courses through its empty corridors . Atoms are largely empty space. 2. Physical space in the empty corridors in the molecule is captured by the molecule and the molecule moves forward as a unit through ambient space. Space does not course through the empty corridors of the molecule. Before answering, please understand the question. Thank you, Dr. Kaku. I've put this question to many, but no answer has come forth. May be there is another way molecules move thru physical space.
I was a dunce at maths and physics at school, but it seems to me logical that the place where Einstein's theory of space-time and quantum mechanics merge is at the bottom of the space dustbins that are black holes. They suck in matter from nearby exploding stars, compressing it under infinite gravitational forces into a singularity where time-space stops and the laws of quantum mechanics take over. At that point, sub-atomic particles may or may not create a big-bang to start a new universe where space-time and the force of gravity start again. QED A lot of egos in the world of theoretical physics too!
Favorite joke of the day Dr. Kaku “I can bore 20 students in a classroom but I can bore 20m on TV or radio” 😂 Dr. Kaku. Mission accomplished you have stirred the mind of many
" what did the other kids think of you?" " well they thought I was nuts of course." This is what is wrong with 🇺🇸 and the world. The ones who are different and right are loathed in all segments of society. Be like everyone else and everyone will accept you. Be different and even if you are right you will not be well received.
It sounded as if Dr. Kaku wanted to avoid answering the question about what his second daughter did for a living. His response didn't come out smooth and confident as it usually does, he looked and sounded uncomfortable answering that she was a pastry chef. It must be intense being a member of his family. I'm sure he loves her and all his family. His mothers declaration of University being the golden ticket to success really stuck with him.
The Cambridge Seat Hawking Once Held, Should Rightfully be Given to Michio Kaku For Bridging The Gap Between The Strangeness Of The Universe And The People Of Earth. He Is Our Best Teacher, Our Most Helpful Scientist, And A Responsible One At That. My Vote Is For Kaku To Take Stephen Hawking's Place In The Cambridge Seat, Once Held by Isaac Newton I Think We Can Agree It Is Rightfully His.
I like the way you look at sience and Einstein's theories. Your'e a needed brain for this planet. I have read your book "Einstein's Universe". Thanks for your works and efforts Mr. Kaku.
I saw a show years ago where Germany created a ceramic coated uranium pellet that couldn't melt down even without coolant. Why wasn't that ever used? Also when given the choice to use Molten Salt reactors using Thorium or Straight Uranium we used the latter because you can't make weapons from Thorium reactors. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Bravilor but it wasn’t a date, it was an interview to interest and educate young minds. To show them that it’s never too late to give up on their dreams and to pursue them at that.
