MICK JAGGER - Exile On Larry King Live - Part 5 

"Rolling Stones" gathers no moss. Some of the songs that I 'very listened and liked--"Satisfaction"--"under my thumb"---"time-is on my side" .

Anyone else reckon Larry meant, 'Where did the name of the album come from?' and Mick thought he meant the group, so King went with it? Bear in mind this question came in the middle of questions about the record.

YES!! first time I understand almost everything Mick says in a interview!! (I'm french and english accent is really hard sometimes, much more than american..!) happy!!

We could record from late in the afternoon until five or six in the morning, and suddenly the dawn comes up and I've got this boat... We'd just jump in, Bobby Keys, me, Mick, whoever was up for it... We'd pull into Monte Carlo for lunch. Have a chat with either Onassis's lot or Niarchos's, who had the big yachts there. You could almost see the guns pointed at each other. That's why we called it Exile On Main Street. When we first came up with the title it worked in American terms because everybody's got a Main Street. But our Main Street was that Riviera strip. I find it interesting that with the other "bumper" songs at the end of each segment they tell you the name of the song ie. Let it Loose, etc. Here, they don't tell us the name of the song. Were they afraid to offend the Religious American audience? Or just avoiding anything religious. And yet they played the track. Cuz it's a great song!

@rafaultimate69 i agree with you. Mick was asked where the name came from? he answered 'we' took it from a Muddy Waters song. why pick faults? they must have 'al'l had to agree with the choice of name.

micks great but i dont understand when hes talking bout all the american stars that would go play in england hes says LEADBELLY? leadbelly died in 1947! mick was born in 1943, i dont get it? anyways mick and the stones are the shit and larry kings friggin clueless here!!!
