I'm 58 and my fiancee' (55) makes me feel and "perform" like a 17 year old. I'm still building rock walls for fun on the weekends, still shovel show off a 100 foot driveway, still split my own firewood. I reckon I'm in better shape that a lot of lads 1/3rd my age whose only exercise is a Xbox.
Awwwww, he looks like the sweetest and happiest old man out there. And even though you don’t have Strummer (RIP), Topper And Simonon bouncing around on the stage and a stadium full of people, he still looks like he feels that he’s playing for a whole stadium. I aspire to be as cool as Mick when I’m an old man. Have a good life Mick, you’re one of music’s greatest treasures
Massive Abba Fan saw an interview and he was genuinely estatic that people are still talking about the Clash and their impact on R & R and music history and was loving it. Circa 2012
I've no recollection as to how I stumbled onto this clip ~ yet can anyone with a beating heart watch Mick perform without feeling good? That smile of his is wholly infectious.
@Noble Failures he wasn't technically skilled, but where his talent came from was the ability to use the skill he had to write some of the most legendary music of the second half of the 20th century.
vjcrmt I'm not saying the Clash aren't good but they aren't the best band ever. Well, in my opinion but they are for sure one of the best bands to have ever existed
As I've gotten older I've really grown to appreciate Mick's contribution to The Clash more and more. My younger self gravitated towards the angst and weird mystique of Joe, but now I can really appreciate Mick's awesome ability to put together an instantly infectious tune. This and "Train in Vain" are up there with my all time favourites.
I saw The Clash at the Bond Theater in the early 80,s, absolutely the best show I have ever seen. Mick seems to be having as much fun now as he did then, thanks for all the music and joy Mick!
This is amazing. Mick seems to be be a truly kind and talented individual. I found this version (love the audience particpation) very uplifting. Thank you Mr. Jones! From an old fan. R.I.P. Joe. You were, and the other members of that great, great band, a real inspiration to this simple creature. Music saved my life.
Seen countless interviews with Mick and always come away with one thought ...total gent who loves doin what he does. Couldn't be further from the image of snarlin Punk. Best band full .
Unbelievably bloody brilliant !! Thanking you from the heart Mr Jones.. A true Rock n' Roll 'CLASSIC' .. I love yer !! May great peace & contentment reign down on you forever more .. You are a GOD of MUSIC .. Here endeth the lesson .. RIP Joe .. Peace !! Rxxxx
So awesome. As a guitarist whose had a strap break on him live (before discovering strap locks), it's so impressive to see him never break a sweat, keep that game face on, and smile through the rest of the song. I LOVE the Clash. I got to see them (post-Mick so not the same) and I would have given anything to see Mick live, especially this close like that. Lucky crowd!
