The biggest Billionaires are on a 30%++ Wealth Gain p.a. run rate, yet nobody calls that inflation, nor even bad inflation, as they do if it appears the servile class 'could' eke out 3%+ back to back - finally, after 50 years.
Britain needs a new, fresh🌱, optimistic & forward💹-looking leadership. Led by someone who is capable of brushing away the stench of 'Bojo'🦨from 10 D⏬wn -ing🤮! . . . :-))
We had this with Jeremy Corbyn not as long ago. But you know what happened. So let be realistic and not assume too much yet. As Mick Lynch had said: we need to stand together !! The Red Wallers did not and look what has come about !
The only way this country will change is by the working class, joining a union and saying we won’t take left overs anymore. He’s truly a breath of fresh air.
@@damianredmore9448 as someone who is part of the RMT, this isnt just about pay. for example many redundancies in railway maintenance will mean a more unreliable service in the future. a lot goes on behind the scenes to keep it running and less maintenance staff means more waiting around for someone to fix something, increasing delays, which means more compensation to the private train companies for delaying their trains out of the taxpayer funded rail network.
@@damianredmore9448 Trite platitudes often (always) disguise lies that are used to hoodwink society. Consider "the best thing since sliced bread". The Chorley - Wood process is probably the second worst thing to ever happen to bread (the crown goes to The Aerated Bread Company, look it up!} The platitude here is "there is no development without investment". While there is a high probability that you own something that disproves that, it isn't the bi ary aspect of the platitude, its the degree. Pay rises can easily be funded by stifling shareholders' greed. The balance has swung too far in favour of those that do no work.
“We are the working class” from a champagne socialist on a vast salary the low paid would kill for. He’s attempting to disrupt the UK into a repeat of the seventies when we were the butt of jokes worldwide for our slack off, high pay, low productivity economy in nationalised highly unionised industries. I’m not saying things now are ideal but letting him plunge us into the seventies makes him as insane as the government he decries. The working class is huge so long as you redefine it out of Thatcher’s bastardisation of the term middle class because most of them work rather than shirk on incomes derived from assets and investments. Are the massive volume of Thatcherite middle class (formerly working class who’ve risen on share profits and council house giveaways), who define political discourse, giving them greater power than the unions, about to join a union and ruin their ‘ill gotten’ gains? Lynch is a minority interest who’s about to learn the hard way that the ‘working class’ isn’t a mass that’s now large enough to support his demands.
I love Mick Lynch, but he told his members to vote yes on Brexit. In recent interviews he still won't admit that was the wrong decision. There will be no recovery in the UK until it rejoins the customs union.
@Bingo Bango Or we could take money from the people who have been hoarding it. Britain isn't bankrupt, it's been the victim of a bank robbery. You don't deal with a bank robbery by letting the bank robbers keep the money and telling the people who lost it all to go suck eggs: you deal with it by finding the people responsible, punishing them to the fullest extent of the law, and getting the goddam money back.
@Bingo Bango no, the solution is that the rich and companies pay taxes!!! that is being proven in Mexico where there are no more tax exemptions for anyone, and they went through Covid without any debt, and they are building large infrastructure projects with no debt... SO, it's about ending corruption and tax avoidance...VERY SIMPLE
@Bingo Bango We're not bankrupt and we literally can't go bankrupt unless Truss and Kwarteng et al start (and I wouldn't put this past them, sadly) taking on debts denominated in someone else's currency. that's not to say we can't face bad consequences from our debts in Sterling: we can; but not bankruptcy.
@Bingo Bango We're one of the richest countries in the world and the 6th largest economy. 12 years of Tory mismanagement of the economy has done a hell of a lot of damage but were not bankrupt. That's not how economics work the problem in this country is the gross unfairness of the distribution of wealth. The people who do the most important jobs ( the ones that had to keep going during Covid is an example) or the ones that produce the wealth of this country do not get recompensed, in fact, the opposite the Torys want to keep their wages as low as possible while syphoning off the vast majority to their friends, the bankers, the hedge fund managers, the heads of corporations etc people who humorously enough we found we didn't actually need at all during the pandemic. We need growth but it has to be growth we all share not just the top 5%. As for bankruptcy that is only going to be a possibility if the present economic mistakes are continued. In two weeks, we have taken on massive debts in the unnecessary tax cuts, which have forced intervention by the BoE increasing interest rates meaning our huge debt, very cheap for the last 20 years is now expensive, and increased mortgages as a result all producing spiralling inflation. If nothing is done to stop this and its looks as if nothing will be done then yes we may have to go cap in hand to the IMF to save ourselves from bankruptcy. That isn't going to happen for a while though but who knows given the wild experiments practised and more that's been preached by this right-wing cabal and their extremist libertarian think tanks who are behind the present economic 'thinking'.
Hats off to Mick Lynch and Eddie Dempsey (and others) for showing the majority in the UK the way back to 'levelling up' in real terms. Enough is enough
When I first started work, in the 70's, the clerk in the office suggested to me - on my first day - that I should join the Union. Not to be militant but because the Union had got us all better working conditions, holidays, sick pay etc. I joined then and in every job I went on to I passed that same message onto staff and colleagues. The Union is also there to support us in times of trouble and need. Now that I am retired I continue to contribute to the Union as a retired member. No Union member goes out on strike for fun - it's a big commitment to give up your wages. On a couple of occasions, when we were called out, I couldn't strike because of my job(residential child care) but I donated those days pay to the fighting fund. I thank the Unions that I was in for all their work, help and support.
The union hasn't got much power unison for the NHS has hardly any say I was always in a union until recently when I stopped paying the outrageous fee they do nothing for NHS workers
@@michelles2299 I'm sorry you feel like that, that's why we need to support them. United we stand, divided we fall - that's what those in power want. I am still Unison. Sometimes it seems there is nothing they can obviously do but things would be even worse without them. This Tory government is determined to sell off the NHS, we can't let them.
@clive mark thanks. In many ways I'm glad that my working days are over and my heart bleeds for the younger ones who have a long way to go to get to the place where I am. I don't know how they manage.
Simply a great guy, I'm ready to march for this movement and I'm retired, we need the country to stand up to this government, their days are over, power to the people
@clive mark Well well one is worried! Worried not good enough we need Tories to fear the fear and contempt they have showen against workers for many years. The workers are not for turning. It is all or nothing. Since workers are getting nothing only one option left.
Oh dear 😳 I hope for everyone who thinks he's the new messiah he doesn't turn into another arthur scargill, or any of those shouting 1970's union types
Exactly. I'm not having Nigel Farage and his ilk "representing" the working class in the media any more. Making out that we are all racists and bigots. There are the same % of bigots in every class. My family are from Toxteth Liverpool 8 and Mick Lynch represents me.
Not enough. Let's make this more militant , better organised, We need to target and counter attack the bosses. Show them the consequences of attacking the working class.
when i worked for the NHS i joined Unison. I was getting bullied and they moved my office into a cupboard with no windows. I discovered that the management were fiddling the budgets to the tune of 50 million at a time when the trust was in debt. I had 6 grade 8’s above me all closing ranks and pushing me down. I asked Unision for help. I discovered that the Unision lady was in a physical relationship with head of HR. I had a sham appeal court date but my mental health started heading down because i’d already raised it with the Chief Exec and my MP they did nothing. My union did nothing. I had to leave didn’t have the strength to go to tribunal. 12 years later i am effected with low self esteem, you may think I was trouble but believe me I was a normal worker who realised they were draining the money via private companies. I’d love to be an auditor for the NHS now that I’m older and stronger but I don’t know how to get back in. The NHS is very important to the country.
Julian....I was a unison rep for 14 years working in local government. I was raising issues of fraud, bullying, homophobia, nepotism, animal cruelty. As a result I was victimised, bullied threatened disability discrimination, I suffer with M.E. it had a massive effect on my health due to the stress. I was thrown out of work and was on paid leave for four years until I had no choice but to give up my job of 30 years. The union failed me, did nothing as they were hand in pocket with the labour councillors. They even admitted they'd let me down after I'd gone. I once went to a meeting with a friend who was a unison rep, who they got rid of too.! The meeting was with Richard burgon, labour Leeds east. We got into an argument about labour doing nothing to address the issues being raised and the fact that we went to see Alec shelbrook a Tory MP, to see if he'd do something...he didn't! Anyhow fat mouth burgon called me a SCAB! despite me going on strike and being on picket lines and a steward all those years. The regional officer from unison was sat there and said absolutely nothing....right up burgon said arse he was...consequently they got rid of three more stewards from the department I worked in. There's no stewards at all in that area. The union is crap they are no better that the management....I'm now on a crappy Little pension struggling to get by....pigs and troughs Julian...pigs and troughs...🙄
@@njkip you fort the battle further harder and longer than I did. I was only there 7 years. no point racking over the details because in essence its the same systemic problem painted in different colours on the same canvas of obscurity. trouble is it ruins lives and destroys families. Labour, Conservative and Unions are just milking the system even if they start out well the system reprograms their integrity. I’m on Universal Credit unfortunately, I want to work but the Mental Health spiral they kicked off in side my head won’t go away. Nothing gets rid of the injustice that these Band 8/9+ government gravy chain bullies dish out. They sent someone to my house even to make me sign a gagging order when i left, while i was off with stress. how can that be legitimate, i should have gone to court and risked everything on it. I needed a judge to say well done julian thankyou for exposing this we will suspend the management and reinstate you and give you an investigation team with the aim of locking these criminals up, sending public money on needless projects with directors wives named as directors of the private company receiving the cheques.
Julian...I know what you mean about the long lasting mental health issues...I'm in the same boat and on medication for it. I also had to sign a gagging clause in order to get a least some money when I left....which was nothing really, that's gone on paying mortgage and living. We had investigations after investigations...was just lip service...nothing came of it...the managers and individuals are still there, screwing the tax payer and lining their pockets...it's totally corrupt....I'd be very careful about supporting any union after my experience...best of luck to you Julian...hope things improve for you..
We need a working class pride movement like they have in other countries. It was in Belgium that I heard the term, dirty hands, clean money, clean hands dirty money. I'm sick of all those who tell me I don't speak right. I'm sick of being judged by where I live or where I was born. Join a union, let's kick em out.
@Richard Wilkinson Although it is kind of discriminatory against service industry workers. You're no less working class just because you work in a cube farm instead of a cattle farm, or as a social worker instead of a steel worker.
It isn’t how one speaks, but what is spoken, words, like the pen are mightier than the sword. However, in a land where l rarely understood dialect, I learned early on that l was judged on HOW I spoke, so,l made sure it was perfect English, but then, unlike most white folk, I did have something to prove. I am not white. On the telephone l am always assumed to be English. So please kaz, Don’t be mad, be better than those who judge you.
@@tjenadonn6158 I’m always confused as to the term ‘working ‘ class. Shouldn’t this mean that ANYONE who WORKS for a wage/salary must surely be working class? Where did the distinction or separation of class occur? I suspect in the AMOUNT of money EARNED do you think, which enabled the higher earners to buy larger house, ego massaging sized cars and expensive holidays!
@@elaineedgar2913 it does mean working for a salary, the division of workers from the shop floor to the office is a false distinction. Until you start getting paid in shares, or directly working in the interest of capital (i.e. a banker) you're a worker.
Enough is enough, help the needy not the very greedy. Wages has got to get a lot lot better, all these corporate companies have been ripping the ordinary working people for years , . The government take notice , dont take the British public for fools.
When I worked in the NHS I joined unison when I was bullied by a senior nurse they resolved it for me and I was more than grateful as I could start enjoying my work life again join a union fight the tory corruption
@ Treat any animal badly enough and it will turn on its master. Gotta remember what these people who were "bred for the yoke" did to King Charles II (Charles I, my bad, blame American schooling,) and what others who were accused of the same did to Tsar Nicholas II.
@@markmaher4548 My mistake. In my defense I went to American schools, so I'm lucky that I know that any English monarchs exist beyond George III and Liz II. Had I not come from a family of, and I say this with the utmost love and affection, absolute dorks, my mother in particular being a massive nerd for all things to do with the Tudor dynasty and I a massive nerd for all things to do with religion including all wars resulting therefrom, and a few very select teachers my knowledge of history, science, political theory, economics, literature, philosophy, and other fields would be abysmal. Still absolutely suck at math though, but I'm diagnosed as dyscalculic (basically dyslexia for numbers) so at least I have an excuse.

Hope you lads and lasses get a settlement soon These opperators have got away with underpaying you guys for too long while ministers have ignored your plight. Enough is Enough ✊
We tried austerity .. even tories seem to agree it was unsuccessful. If people are to work and be productive, they need to feel happy and safe. Austerity delivers fear and stress - literally the opposite.
Thank you Mick, thank you Eddie….love and support from Nottingham. Time to band together. The Tories and their pundits, broadcasters are not going to get in our way. Solidarity with the unions and ordinary working people. We want change. Enough is enough.
My O level history course back in 1964 covered 1850 to 1930. The battle of the working class for education. Decent working conditions. The vote. The right to unionise. The Tolpuddle Martyrs. The Peterloo massacre. The end of parliamentary rotten boroughs. It was a slog and needed the support of middle class sympathisers as they knew how the systems worked. I cant believe that almost 60 years on we are having to re run the whole battle.
