@@TevyaSmolka now Mickey Mouse trap I wouldn’t watch because you will lose your money they are breaking the rules Mickey Mouse is trademarked ™️ Minnie Mouse is trademarked ™️ so you can’t call your character Mickey Mouse or Minnie Mouse
Steamboat Willie is in the public domain. Mickey Mouse is not. Mickey Mouse is trademarked by Disney. While Steamboat Willie is free to the public, there is a question as to whether or not anyone can just use Mickey Mouse without permission.
@@crinsombone5380 No. The trademark keeps Mickey Mouse from being fully in the public domain. Only specifically the three Mickey Mouse cartoons made in 1928 are in the public domain.
@@dmnemaineYou just can’t confuse people with your product. If you make it clear that you’re not connected to Disney, you can do whatever you want with the Steamboat Willie version of Mickey in your product
Dude!!! So are a bunch Looney Tunes in the public domain. I can't run around and use Bugs Bunny but I can sell those videos on Blu Ray. I'm sure we'll see a butt load of Steamboat Willie videos that are manipulated and it'll get old quick. You know what? I 'll make one now and be the pioneer of garbage.
The first two videos I saw today will be special.maby more if there done great.like THOES first two.which where spiritual uplifting.why drive the opportunity down into trash?
Let me save you some time. No “Blood and Honey” isn’t worth it. You take out the Winnie the Pooh elements are replace them with anything really, and nothing of substance is lost. It’s a very by the numbers slasher flick that tries nothing new or unique.
Artists and writers have been burned in the past by messing with the mouse. The mouse has been trade marked and trade marks last forever. Not sure just how a trade mark works or changes things but make changes to Steamboat Willie or what had come previously and you might get into trouble.
If you look at Winnie Pooh blood and honey, it's surprisingly not as bad as you would think for what is essentially a parody on Winnie the Pooh tbh. And it wasn't entirely predictable as I thought. So I would say it's kinda worth seeing lol. Like with what little they had to go on to make into a horror movie, they got creative sometimes and the characters aren't just flat out murderous. Winnie the Pooh was more tactical and practically immortal for one, while Piglet was actually killable. So that set up a interesting scenario lol. As for steamboat mickey. I feel like people are just going to meme on it and just upload videos of it just to raise their fist at Disney. As for anything creative, I kinda doubt it tbh. I feel like people are going to test what they can get away with and just get bored when they realize how limited it is. Just found they're trying to make a game on it already lol. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Qe85jZhSflk.htmlsi=yiSdOBmk3-lJb8s6
I’m probably going to force myself to watch Blood and Honey just out of sheer curiosity…I have a tough time with horror films but I’ll see how far I can get 😅 I saw the game announcement this morning!!! It’s been a wildly entertaining day on the Disney side of the internet with all the Mickey memes, but I’m really interested to see what happens in the long term. Im still waiting for those inevitable Steamboat Mouse costumes to arrive at independent/local theme parks.
True! I haven’t looked into it, but if we’re going year by year then I feel like Fantasia, and by extension Sorcerer Mickey, might be in the public domain in 2037….so only 13 years before we get a Sorcerer Mickey horror movie 😅
Sort of! I haven’t received a strike, but there was a copyright claim….I think it might be because of the audio? I’ve read rumours that Mickey’s whistle and the film’s soundtrack might still be protected but haven’t found anything official yet.
@@TeacupForOne I get copyright faster by having the audio, but I still get penalties for the video only. Interesting, still. Part of me wonders if it is RU-vid automation. I wonder if I will be free to use it later on this year.
@@TeacupForOne The music is not public domain and the whistle. You will have to add music that is safe to use and the whistle will have to be different you have to replace it with your voice.
@@TeacupForOne It’s just as cute as I would have expected. Maybe a little more violent? But in retrospect almost every cartoon back then had insane shit with body parts being ripped off 🤣 All in good fun!
@@TeacupForOnei would watch the steam boat Willie one. I wouldn’t watch Mickey Mouse trap because you will lose your money. Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse is trade marked by Disney
You know I have to say I’m LEGIT surprised this even happened. If anyone has the power to hold on to every scrap of their IP it’s Disney. And it’s going to be a weird thing for their lawyers to deal with, judging just how Mickey a Mickey is.
