I had the privilege of meeting him once. He looked ill here, and I believe he passed not long thereafter. A musical angel!

I am a huge lover of Mickey Newbury, and I think that this is one of the most poignant songs I've ever heard! You can hear the heartache throughout it. I miss him terribly and hope he had a good life.
