He's amazing to listen to and observe. Very artistic, even when he isn't trying.

Imagine, Mickey was a smaller boxer can you imagine the damage Muhamad Ali got for boxing heavy weight champions? No wonder he got Parkinson's! Rest in peace Champ!

Mickey Rourke was the greatest actor of the 80's. For a whole decade he was in the same class as actors like Pacino, Hoffman and other greats but he was 10 or 12 years younger and he was a handsome guy. Though it's true that he did the boxing thing etc... The reason he was ostracized from his art was mainly that he told off Samuel Goldwyn Jr. And you can't tell off Sam Goldwyn and so he made sure Mickey couldn't get an acting job for a long time the same as Mel Gibson's anti-Semitic rant when he was drunk. Mel became the poster boy for anti-semitism in Hollywood... Look we're all prejudiced and bigotted deep inside to some degree but that doesn't mean we're going to burn crosses on somebody's lawn ... The problem in America is that you can't be human and make a mistake and people always take it to the enth degree... I mean if somebody is caught in two or more racist rants then it's serious but we're all allowed to make mistakes because we ALL do!!!

True. He was the greatest actor of the 80s and was more talented than so many other legendary actors. His mental problems and bad attitude cost him. It was when he publicly trashed A Prayer For The Dying that’s when his career went to shit and he went back to boxing. The amount of perfect roles for him in big movies he turned down is crazy too. He’s his own worst enemy and he went the same way again after his comeback.

This male interviewer is incredibly annoying! He needs to quit interrupting, quit reacting to what is said, keep his mouth shut and let his guest talk! Even the female interviewer holds up her hand to him as if to say, “Shut up and let Mickey finish his thought!” Smart interviewers know that if you let a guest keep talking, you often get some very revealing feedback.

Yeah Mickey is far more talented than 99% of actors working today. It’s painful to see him in trash B movies not giving a damn. He’s up there with De Niro, Pacino and Day Lewis in terms of ability.

I like mickey Rourke, don't get me wrong, but he's admitted he's not worked for decades, (he had construction work apparently), but he says about feeling shame and like a loser for just acting the part of the Ram working in a deli. I'm sure there are probably loads of people working in the service industry who've bought cinema tickets, (they could probably ill afford to see "The Wrestler" which supports Mickey. He's being a tad condescending there, even though other times he openly admits to being uneducated and even humble. It's a bit of a contradiction. (No need for hate comments, just my thoughts).

Olivia Mae he was talking about acting. He didn’t make any condescending comments about the service industry. I spent 20 years of my life working in service, and there’s no need to be ashamed of it. A person excels in jobs they love and makes the choice to excel in everything they do. You learn what you can and can’t do your entire life.

Mickey felt shame for being called "the next Brando" etc, but giving up his career & being told he would never get it back because no one wanted to take a chance on him after getting a bad reputation.
