Fuck,We got old but the 70's were worth every ounce, I was 21 when this song came out and thought I was invincible but now I'm 66 and I still feel that way😂
1975, I was a 20 year old United States Marine when this was a hit. I lived this song, but later on "I Fooled Around and Fell in Love" On 21 Mar 21, we will celebrate our 40th Wedding Anniversary.
@@johnoneal1234 Hung out and played along with Paul Butterfield and Mike Bloomfield. What an unlikely thing to happen. 3 young white kids obsessed with the blues in the early 60s in Chicago. And all considered among the best bluesmen. Kind of like lightning striking 3 times in the same place.
Elvin Bishop, a great rock 🎸 & blues guitar player. Mickey Thomas, one of the very best male vocalists ever! What a duo! What a beautiful timeless classic romantic song!!!
Mickey still looks and sounds excellent! He looks to be a man of about 40 y.o. standing up there. And can still sing the song in the same high key that it was originally done in over 35 years ago. Elvin still soundin'great too!
Mickey's singing is right up there with Elvis, Aretha, and Roy Orbison. Truly one of the greatest voices of all time. One of those rare musical entities you can listen to for hours with total delight and satisfaction.
I love that guitar solo, which Elvin shares here ... he had the worst possible thing happen to him in his personal life several years ago, but he kept going on, and I love the way he lets the other people have the spotlight, like he let Mickey sing this song. If you read the background about it, he tried it first but then said to let Mickey do it.
Mr. Elvin Bishop, you are more than welcome to my comments. Seeing your group,, was nothing new.. but a refresher on good music... the kind that you could listen to everyday.
Fifty years ago I met a young girl and I was listening to the radio and heard I fooled around and I started listening too Mickey Tomas and I was listening to fooled around and fell in love, I was stoked.K
