Much better outing! Live and learn. Conditions seemed quite variable and unstable, when the wind calmed the glide was nice. As a fairweather bird I'd call it a winner! Seems like the large rudder option is a good choice! It appeared to need some down input to respond to rudder authority, could have been the conditions. Thank you for posting Sir. I learned a lot and it will be most helpful when I build and fly mine. Stay well!
This has got to be one of my favorite types of flying. Small 2ch gliders of a bungee is great fun. And if you fly like me you get plenty of exercise walking!
I would say that's as good as it gets .I tend to hold a bit of down elevator on launch to stop that premature release and on windy days try putting a small removable bag of lead in the body directly over the CG it will help no end with penetration .Well done .
Holding any stick input during launch means your sailplane is not set up properly. You do have an adjustable tow hook, right? And yes, a bit of ballast can help a lot.
@@richarddarlington1139 on the stick is a way of getting around the problem your right perfect set up is the answer and good conditions help in consistent launching adjustable hooks are not so easy on micro models as bigger ones if you have a design please share it with us
Hi much better than the last time. It looks that the Mbot is very fast or is it the Wind. Istill waiting for my kit hope it will arrive next week. Greetings from Germany.
Things are definitely headed in the right direction with this one. The angling of the tow hook makes some sense but, maybe too much of a good thing? Try reducing the angle a bit to avoid the dreaded pop-off. Also, braided Dacron kite line would make excellent tow line, I think. She looks good up there!
Yes you’re absolutely right! I’m going to reduce the angle of the tow hook. On another day there was no wind at all and it was pinging off the hook on the climb up every time.
@@A470RCSoaring By, "pinging off the hook," do you mean releasing too early? Here on the left side of the pond, we call that a pop-off. If you fly all the way to the stake, and still have tension on the line, you can do what we call a zoom launch by tapping a bit of down to relieve the tension, then relax the elevator to allow the glider to "zoom" up another 50 feet or so. Need a little headwind, though. Lotsa fun!
As you’ve probably realised, I’m a bit of a novice at hi-start launching. My only other experience is with a 2m moldie. Yes, popping off. I’ve read about zooming but never done it. Apparently it’s common in competition to gain a little extra height.
@@A470RCSoaring Back in the early '80's, I flew nothing but sailplanes using a standard hi-start for two seasons. I've also flown quite a bit of rubber powered free flight, now and then. Nothing teaches you more about flying through that "river of air" than these two aspects of model aviation. Trimming is everything.
All the effort payed of. I'm really impressed how nice this glider flies. I absolutely like the style of your videos. Thank you for sharing. But... you should get rid of some wrinkles. Em, the plane is meant :-)
Thanks, I’m glad you like the style of my videos. I noticed the film had become a little wrinkly too so I’ve just taken the iron to them. If you have any tips for removing the wrinkles from my Face ID love to hear them. Oil of Olay obviously isn’t working 🤣
