The Micro3x has been the perfect enhancement for my Eotech XPS3, the holosight comes through exceptionally clear and the QD mount attaches solidly. I may end up never taking this combo off my Kel-Tec RDB.
I took a look through both of these magnifiers at a store and was shocked that the cheaper VMX-3T looked better. Sharper and brighter image. The store clerk said it is because of my eyes and all our eyes are different which is why I preferred the VMX-3T. The lesson? Go look through these optics before you buy. I’m getting the VMX-3T.
That is a relief and good to hear because I just bought the VMX -3T not the micro. So the old one looks better that is great news. Thanks I was just looking at the old one and its very clear. I have not seen the micro but I will take your word for it. plus .2 and . 6 is hardly any noticeable difference in eye relief lets get real. 4 tenths of a inch. I doubt I could tell much difference.
Needs more eye relief. As it is now, you have to mount it where your backup iron sight should go. It should have more eye relief or a cantilevered mount so it can be used when mounted in front of a backup iron sight.
Too bad you can't share photos in the comments. Santa was nice enough to bring me a micro 3x this xmas to go with my huey gen II and the site pic is crisp and clean. Sent a pic to my buddy after install.
I bought a vortex monocular once… it was so nice my mom stole it for birdwatching. Excited to put the vmx3t red dot and magnifier on my gun soon where I know my mom won’t touch it.
I've been running a VMX-3T for a while now and like it. However, I've discovered that rifle weight has become an issue for me. I'm thinking the Micro 3x will help save weight some, but is also easier to remove quickly if that's what I need

What I don’t get is how is it even possible for the micro to have more eye relief and at the same time keeping the same FOV (38.2 feet at 100 yards)? 🤯
Because then why would you buy the new, more expensive one? I just ordered a vmx today you can just turn the mount around and still easily press the button with your other hand.
You mentioned that the Micro 3x is compatible with all Vortex Red Dots, as long as they're on the same height. I cannot find any information if it will match the height of Crossfire Red Dot mouted on stock high-mount. Can you please confirm?
For days I am trying to find out if they are officially water proof. Basically all shops say that they are water proof and nitrogen purged. However, your website doesn’t state anything regarding water. Can you shed some light on this?
Thanks for the video comparing the two magnifiers much appreciated. But I was wondering what would be the best setup for my rifle. A Ruger AR 556 with the fixed front sight. I'd like to keep my rear iron sight but not sure which of the two would work best for me. Input from Vortex or other gun owners opinions would be appreciated alot.
Hey Dylan - The Micro3x would be a great choice as it will allow flipping to either left or right and does not require a button to be pushed to engage/disengage the magnifier.
So what I'm failing to understand is why in the world did you go to a 22 mm objective lens when most of your optics like the strike fire 2 which is what I have is 30 mm and it's already small in my opinion this is clearly the better option for magnifier but I'm looking at the VMX due to it having a more usable objective lense size
Also both of the magnifiers have a 37mm mounting height?? Meanwhile my strikefire 2 is 40mm. Super annoying that it wouldn't be perfectly centered and would be noticeable but at the same time not worth shimming. I just don't understand your guys thought process on these measurements
@@VortexOpticsUSA That's great! You need to educate your distributors. I would strongly recommend including this answer to the product page. Others may have the same question and (at least that is the case of the Polish distributor) local distributors can still recommend the older magnifier version, which is far away from OK. Even though there is a lot of complains about the Micro3X quick release. Anyway your answer is very helpful. Thanks
I'm running a Trijicon MRO on my BCM Recce 11.5 and it is a perfect red dot. Until I dropped the VMX-3T behind it. Now the dot is more like a long slash. From what I discovered, I'm thinking that I may have an astigmatism. Anything I can do to help that? Is the Micro3x more forgiving in that respect? I saw a couple reviews and on one, it stated that the VMX-3T is one of the best to combat that. I'm about ready to swap the Trijicon for an Eotech EXPS2-0 if I can't get this working. I have the Eotech 512 on my Daniel Defense DDM4-V7 and I dropped the VMX-3T behind that without issue. Any advice would help. Thanks. P.S. It's hell to get old lol
Hey Greg - different red dot and different optics in general will effect everybody's eyes differently. I would highly recommend checking them out at dealer before purchasing to see if any will help with your astigmatism.
From what I understand you're better off with a Holo for astigmatism, so either an eotech or the vortex Huey - it's not because of the magnifier, as prisms are known to help astigmatism.

Why would i buy a new magnifier when i have a perfectly capable one that has a design flaw? Money Grabbers. I'll buy a Sig before i spend money on ANOTHER Vortex. I don't know how you guys made good magnifiers but then said fuck it on the mounts 🤣 left side flip on the original 3x (which literally only lefties would ever want) and a qd lever that gets in the way of a Charging handle on the micro -_- nicely done lol
@@VortexOpticsUSA Incorrect - I have 1x Spitfires on several of my firearms (awesome by the way) and have both the VMX-3T and Micro3xs' which do work well together. Turn the Prism diopter fully clockwise and the magnifier diopter fully counter clockwise. You can then adjust the Prism diopter to taste. Have always wondered why Vortex says they are not compatible. Again, your prism sight and mag are a fantastic combination. I can't take credit for this, I had found a youtube video by Douglas Thompson who explains it fully.
Does the use of the magnifier change any hold-overs on the red dot? Let’s say, I know to hold on a target’s neck at 400 yards with plain red dot for a chest hit, will the magnifier change that, so I need to hold on his head (or nipple-line) for a chest hit with the magnifier engaged?

@@superbroadcaster Make sure you check the tightness of the mounting screw before use because it will loosen up after 2 range visits. They won't admit it but it's a shit design.
I would stay away from the Vortex 3T. The mounting system with that one screw loosens up after a little use. It's a faulty design. Period. Mines fallen off twice just from gun vibration (None really from my DDm4) being careful not to even knock it a little. The "Claimed" eye relief is bull too. If your head is 1/8th out of spot in any direction the sight goes dark. Focuser is pretty useless too. Wish I never bought the piece of shit to be honest. It's amazing how you can get a really nice pair of binoculars for 300 hundred bucks but because this goes on a gun you pay the same when it compares to a 50 dollar set of binocs. They should give some type of second locking nut to go along top the original.

Got mine yesterday. I have to admit, its tough spending this kind of money on a magnifier when you could almost buy a Strike Eagle. I have one on another rifle and think its a great value. Just had to try the Holo.-mag. experience. Ya never know what your'e missing. I'm about to find out. Oh, please don't make me wish I bought a Strike Eagle.
@@dbchillin7747 I didn’t like it. Returned it. I’m sticking with 1-6, 8 & 10 power scopes. For the money you spend on this and a Holosun 512c you can buy an Atibal 1-10x scope with 34mm tube. It’s very similar to the trijicon 1-10x the marines use. Even the retical is the same. The big difference is it’s not a forged aluminum tube, and no integral mount. Yes, I know it’s not the same as the 2500 dollar trijicon but for a regular dude that will never be a true operator, it’s damn good for $687.
