So cool to learn about micro-grafting. I don’t have any yet but have been learning on the varieties. I think I’ve narrowed it down to 5, lol. I have a small space and would like to try grafting a few varieties onto a sabra. I’m in west FL, hope everyone’s trees are doing ok in the tropical storm.

I’m 58 trying to build a wide variety of rare species. I started to view your videos and learned of this plant. I would love to acquire some stock. This plant fascinated me to no end. Am willing to learn. What is the best way to communicate with you. My wife is Into plants as well as mushrooms. Thank you for any help. I’m a novice grafter also. Thanks. Marty

Any idea how much longer it would take a micro graft (on a seedling) to fruit than a more mature grafted Jaboticaba? Like say the width of a toothpick vs the width of a chopstick?

Hey Pete, love your channel and your vids. I would really like to see a video about a german food forest, because i havent seen any examples of germany based food forest systems on youtube. Would love to see that coming on to your channel, or if you already have a video about this, a link to it. Keep it up!

Hey man been following your work for about a year now or more dk, but I have been to a workshop today with a nurserist ( don't know it that's correct) and he told us that the method that is used on this video doesn't work for all the tree's is that correct, is it a misunderstanding or lack of knowledge of him , does the reliance of the method differs from place to place? Just to get the theme right. Keep the good work, love your videos.

how cold hardy are jabo's? I live in the PNW, so grow tent during the winter is a must, but I would love to get a compact one to start my journey, the scarlett would be great, besides its my daughters name too. another on point vid, thanks for YOUR time

Hey Matt! Jabo’s can handle roughly 26 degrees. They love containers and can handle being grown in one long term. Imagine a Jobo Christmas tree with fruit 😬 🎄

Aloha Pete! I have a very important question for you. I'm a permaculture landscaper from Hawaii. We are fighting a cursed fire ant species called Wasmannia auropunctata (Little Fire Ant/LFA/Electric Ant) there are no organic baits available to use around edible plants and in the food forests. This grieves me so much to see what's happening to our paradise 😢 my garden is not safe for kids and animals. Since Florida has fire ants too, my question is: [Do you recommend any products to eradicate these creatures?!] Any advice you and your crew can offer is GREATLY appreciated! Mahalo nui 💚

May I ask why there's so much interest in jaboticabas from collectors? I have tried the jaboticaba fruit once and I was not impressed by its flavour. It wasn't as tasty as a grape, the skin was harder than a grape and more acid. It's not even in my top 15 fruits. Sure the trees are beautiful and unusual looking with fruit growing on the trunk. Is this why such trees so sought after or did I not taste a proper jaboticaba yet to be able to appreciate it?
@PeteKanarisGreenDreamsFL
@PeteKanarisGreenDreamsFL 4 года назад
I think you had a bad experience. The sabara variety can have tough skin but the flavor is on point. It’s definitely better than any grape I’ve ever had. I’d suggest giving them another chance.
