This was a technique shown to me by fellow modeler Jason Quinn. Using a brown micron 05 pen, you can create fantastic micro dots on various rolling stock.
Howdy Dan! This is some good stuff right here. Proves that you can have effective and realistic weathering without a whole lot of angst. I know it is in my nature to overcomplicate things... lol... so this is awesome. Good reminder that sometimes simpler is better. Definitely adding this technique to my weathering tool box. Well done young man and thanks for sharing 🤠
This is why I love people like you in model railroading...sharing your knowledge to those of us always looking for new techniques to try. So adding this to my book of tricks. Thank you again for another great video.
Great Video! I am familiar with that pen because I am also an Artist. My best modeling days are bad weather days... love your RU-vid Channel... mine is just fledgling.
If I were to try this, would I finish with a Matte varnish/ DullCote? Or would I just leave it alone afterwards? EDIT- Apologies. Another commenter asked my question and you answered. Disregard.
Dan, you could be getting kick-backs on the supplies you use & feature in your videos through affiliate links at Amazon or other marketplaces. Any thoughts on that?
Incredible technique - super nice results. Question though - have you experienced any reactions to the Micro-pens and Dullcote? I have had reactions from Sharpies and Dullcote in the past. Beautiful work!!!👍
