The concerns are primarily about ingestion so what about polylactic tea basgs? Is their ability to decompose actually enhanced by adding boiling water, and doesn't that mean that we humans are ingesting even MORE plastic? If corn starch behaves like a plastic we are deeper in trouble. Microplastics ingestion and altering our genes and obesogens etc.
Hey doctor, this video has been very informative. I wanted to know if there is any research on micro plastics in relation to cooking food sous vide. This method of cooking is becoming popular, using plastic bags to cook food in hot water so the food can reach the same internal temperature throughout. I am concerned that similar to tea bags, putting food in plastic bags and then exposing them to hot water to cook may have a similar effect to tea bags. Any research or advice on the matter would be appreciated!
