MJ had everything in the bag and he did it with fluidity and finesse. He was a definitely Poetry in Motion. He arguably created all the modern "advance" basketball moves like the Step-back, Euro-step, Lateral-step, etc. and we should give him credit for all those things.
MJ is just something else. We all have seen and we all know how fundamental he was. But when the coach here breaks it down, it is even more insane. Just mind blowing talent, athleticism. What a package! GOAT no question man.
So many options in his arsenal, and you could tell that some movements are just pure instinct as he could foresee how the defense reacts while moving so quickly. No wasting of movements, no showing off... he just wanted to attack. Then get back on D.
@@kneo12 I'm also a big fan of Kyrie. They are both excellent finishers. Kyrie is best finisher ever at 6'3" below. But MJ is 6'6" with an insane hangtime. Look at his finishes vs Boston where he scored 63 points - it's mind blowing.
I would just like to note, he mentions Jordan keeps it away from the defender nonchalant like, when it was freaking Olajuwon. In other words, there is no defender in today’s game like Olajuwon or 7 other centers back then and he was scoring all over all of them.
Acidrooster I’d say Rudy gobert is comparable defensively and may even be a better PnR defender but mostly due to circumstance and the new pace and space era
G.O.A.T not even close , 6-0 in finals, only player with 200 steals and 100 in a season and did it twice, 1 of 2 players with 3000 points in a season, 30.1 ppg for career, tied record with 9 all-defensive teams, 10 scoring titles, 3rd most steals all time, dunked from the threethrow line, game winner for championship, 2 3-peats, 48 inch vert, best per ever, still dominated against the bad boy pistons... Lebron could NEVER and this is coming from a lebron fan..
@James Robert defense being harder is debatable cause zone defenses plus more advanced schemes. athletes being more athletic. Factor in Durant always played with a person who is a capable scorer
I think MJ did all these moves naturally and instinctively! Maybe someone one day can ask him . Did he practice these moves or was he just playing freely and instinctively? If u know what I mean
It's a mixture of both. The moves he repeated over and over were from memory, suggesting that he practiced them. The one like the layup over the Nets where he changed direction in mid air three different times, is clearly improvisation.
Michael Jordan had one advantage to Phil jackson state made the difference between mj and the late great Kobe Bryant was hand size. That’s why Kawhi is most closer to mj physically
@@zacks6596 Well tell the same about Rajon Rondo. He can palm the ball but only scores when open or pass fake. You might need size and strength with the package of palming because I can palm the ball myself at 5'11 with a wingspan of 6'6". Not much to work with so every time I get a possession of the ball I can't just sit there and palm the ball, I must make quick decisions to pass, shot, or drive. It's nice that I can but not in a real game, especially at the NBA level. I know Allen Iverson did it a few times but not every single game like Michael Jordan or Kawhi does.
Tumi Shahi his physical gifts combined with his work ethic made him the goat. you think he would have been that good with 35 inch vert normal hand and 6’3
@@n_tha_middlew.674 yeah it's for sure for this. The best players always are looking for ways to take advantage of rules (hardens foul baiting, kds rip through, etc.) Mj clapping is just to make it sound like he got fouled l
THE MOST PASSIONATE ATHLETIC CONFIDENT EMOTIONAL MOST BEAUTIFUL ATHLETE OF ALL TIMES,END THE DEBATE ONCE&FOR ALL MICHAEL JORDAN MY HERO IS THE G.O.A.T.END OF DISCUSSION.
Jordan moves was limitless he had the total package the MOST complete player u will ever see n then being able to jump higher n longer than everybody made it too easy smfh
I have not seen the whole series, but You could make a video about how MJ understood spacing and created space out of nothing, not just separation. Also, footwork, moving without the ball, how he used his teammates to create offence or even help defenders to his advantage, like making them collide, how he chose between 2 steps, 1 step and a hop step to, etc to fish at the rim. The move at 12:21 has a name a completely forgot; The clap can be referred to as Slap the Wrist. I love the double-clutch, spinning the ball, finger rolls because is so 80's and 90's. There's a mid-air counter when the fade away going to be blocked where MJ just holds the ball back and shoot from the right shoulder that is insane like the defender did everything absolutely right...
This dude got me so hyped right now 2:09. Y tf Mj just posterizing all these dudes? Then my man said Mj had springs. This just brings me so much joy. The best player ever is well represented here. Mj was doing this when dudes hard fouled u & it was a ok. Sorry lebron
Just saw a comment saying it's for controlling the trajectory. That makes sense considering the moves he used the claps on left his hands in an awkward position to finish.
@12:54 That was at Texas State University (Southwest Texas State University back then). I was a student there and I was at that game! That was the only time I ever saw Jordan live. I don't know what or why he was there but word got around and I thought it was BS but I went any way and sure enough MJ was there warming up. I had an old school video camera and I got some footage but I freaking lost it. The thing I remember most about that night was that MJ spent the ENTIRE pregame warmup shooting left handed jumpers. He did not miss one time! That's the one thing I'll always remember about that night. Not just 5-6 footers I'm talking 15-18+ footers, LEFT HANDED and he did not miss a SINGLE TIME! That whole day from trying to find where to buy tickets to watching MJ play in San Marcos, TX and him just cruising up and down the court playing at what looked like 30%-40% capacity and still dominating everyone was just surreal. One of the strangest and coolest days of my life. Good times.
I wish I could see you brake down Lebrons skills in this way.. I'm just curious because to me Bron and other players always appeared kind of sloppy to me in comparison to Jordan but it's kinda hard to identify exactly what makes it look that way. Mj seemed to have perfect control of the ball and even the defender. What would a lbj brake down show?
James Robert I understand that. But Jordan was so fundamentally sound , I just would’ve loved to see how that move would look in his arsenal. UK what I mean?
