If you want to get a little more out of your Microsoft Surface Laptop 3 or purchase the lower storage Surface Laptop 3 and just upgrade the storage to a 1TB SSD for much less, then hope this video helps. I had purchased the Surface Laptop 3 with 16GB RAM and 256GB SSD and would fill it pretty fast with editing pictures and some light video editing. So I thought installing a 1TB would help and it did indeed.
Amazon is currently out of the 1TB of the CalDigit Tuff Nano. You can keep checking with this link and see when the 1TB becomes available again. Currently, only the 512GB option is available.

I stripped the SSD's screw head. Any tips on how to remove the screw ?
@MrHG78
@MrHG78 2 года назад
Hopefully the screw isn’t to tight. You can use something that is a rubber type tip that you can put a bit of force, not too much and try to turn the screw out. Another option would be, if you have a standard small screw driver. See if you have enough that you can put that in to get the area that is stripped and turn it. Usually this has worked for me in the past. Do it slowly so that you don’t continue to stripe the screw. Hope this helps.

Hi, nice video.. can you help me out with some questions that I had Would it be wise for me to purchase this laptop? I'm a student and even though this laptop is a bit pricey I like the build quality.. would the 10th gen and low storage SSD be a problem from the start itself? I'm not a heavy user but I would like to run some music production softwares and KRITA(2D animation software)
@MrHG78
@MrHG78 3 года назад
If you can get the newer 11th Generation at a discount and at least 256GB storage since you do mention that you would like to run some music production software. You can always upgrade the SSD storage. If you do find the 10th Generation for a big discount you should be okay with it as well. Look for some deals on the 11th Generation first, Microsoft should have great deals coming up next month in June.

Hi I had a question, I’m about to purchase the surface laptop 3 with 128 gb ssd and I want to upgrade the storage as well, I was wondering if the company you bought that external drive from sold similar models with more storage potentially 2 tb? And would it be better to use 1tb or 2tb with my model as it has a 10th gen i5?
@MrHG78
@MrHG78 3 года назад
The M.2 2230 I believe the biggest 2230 SSD is a 1TB. You should have plenty with a 1TB but I am sure if you want a 2TB there should be some coming out soon. I personally use the 1TB and have plenty for video and picture editing. I do use an external SSD drive as well for my cache files.

If you upgrade to a new SSD, you will start fresh though your old SSD that was in the Microsoft Laptop 3 will still be in that SSD that you removed. If you are using Microsoft Office 365 and using OneDrive, you should be able to have your files backed up and show up on the new SSD once you install Office 365 and sign into your OneDrive account.
